Live from Glendale it's New York Jonathan (Glaser), Hand Habits, "Jerry" and "Ray" (Episode 360)

Ladies and gentlemen, you are watching or listening to Office Hours Live.
I'm your host, Tim Heidecker.
It is October 9th.
Happy birthday to John Lennon.
Jesus Christ.
John Lennon was assassinated by Mark David Chapman.
Who's alive.
When's his birthday, I wonder, Mark David Chapman.
We're not celebrating that.
Well, I'm not saying to celebrate, just for information.
Find out if Mark David Chapman's alive.
I think he is.
Still in jail.
Anyways, we welcome everyone to the show.
May 10th.
May 10th.
So remember that.
May the 10th be with you.
Well, we've got a chatty guest in the studio.
I haven't even introduced him.
Sorry.
Oh, it's the ghost of John Lennon.
Oh.
Put some reverb on his voice.
If we really want the ghost of John coming in from the dead.
We're going to start the show.
Damn you.
I don't want reverb.
Ah, shit.
Uh-oh.
That's fascinating.
Anyway, we've got great guests today on the show.
John Glaser will be here shortly.
And then Hand Habits.
Music from Hand Habits.
I like jazz.
Behind me, recovering from a major illness,
is DJ Doug Pound.
Good morning.
Vic.
I got the new RFK cold that they just dropped.
Oh, RFK 24, 25?
Yeah, he's doing these new viruses.
Oh, man.
And Maha.
John Glaser here, and I asked him,
I begged him not to get political on the show
because we're trying to create a wider audience,
much like the Jimmy Fallon show.
We want to be apolitical.
Got it.
We want this to be a refuge for people
who are sick of hearing all the bad news
and the good news that's happening with this administration.
Because I hear rats.
I don't have no rats.
Anyways.
That's a worm dude.
Vic the prick.
Vic on, well, we actually,
today's guest host is you, the audience.
We've got an interesting mirror.
What's the mirror about here, guys?
I can't see John because you're blocking him
because of the way the setup is today,
so I put a mirror so I can see him in the mirror.
And can you see him, Doug?
And I can see Doug, and it's really great.
All right.
Looks really cool.
Vic has been replaced by a vanity mirror today.
All right, baby, baby.
Whoa.
Did you hear that?
What was that?
Burp.
Normal burp.
Stop it, Vic.
Vic, I guess what's going on with Vic?
Like his dog is lost in the basement or something?
He lost the dog in his own building somehow.
Wow.
Apparently.
That's his story.
That dog's had some help.
Well, we love dogs on this show,
and we hope the dog is found, I suppose.
I don't know.
Get at me, dog.
At this point, I don't know.
I wish for a success.
Maybe some people are better off without dogs.
Mm-hmm.
Matt?
Mm-hmm.
I would love to not have a dog again.
Mm-hmm.
Anyway.
Okay.
We've got fun, fun times ahead.
And here, all the way in from New York City,
is in the flesh the host of the Cancelled Officers East.
Cancelled due to funding issues, I suppose.
Is, no, one of the legends.
And sometimes I just have to pinch myself.
Come on.
No, because before you had the Tim and Eric,
you had Tim Heidecker, who's just a guy,
just a loser.
But I loved comedy.
No!
Oh, God.
And I loved comedy.
I forgot how exhausting this is.
And I would...
Being here in person is like...
I was living in New York,
and I would go downtown and see some comedy,
and I would see this guy, John Glazer,
who's fucking legendary already 20 years ago.
And then I would go,
Oh, man.
This guy's my favorite comed...
One of my favorite comedians.
I'm not kidding, by the way.
I'm putting it on, but I'm not kidding.
And then over years, we become friendly,
and then friends,
and now finally he's here in the studio.
This is a big time.
I'm getting excited.
Oh, man.
Yes.
Is that emotional?
I'm just...
I mean, I'm getting emotional,
like simultaneously emotional,
and then just the barrage of sound effects
is fucking relentlessly hilarious.
Remember when it's the lowest form of conversation.
Oh, man.
But also, it adds to just be able to see Doug's face
in the mirror, focused on his...
Now, there is...
Is he gonna get us all sick?
No.
Yeah, what is this, Doug?
You know, I see on Instagram earlier in the week,
you're posting, and you sound like hell,
and your voice is gone,
and I'm going,
well, I guess we're not gonna have Doug on the show,
and then I'm checking in on you.
Did I check in on you?
Was I the only one?
You were the only one.
Thanks, Steve.
I said, how are you?
I'm back again.
No, I don't...
Whenever I have a show,
my body turns off the illness
and says, not now.
I know, but are you spreading...
I'm not spreading the news.
Are you contagious?
I've been sick since, like, over a week ago.
Okay.
We're over the contagious part.
Contagions.
Because I checked in with RFK.virus.gov.
He said that I'm good to go.
All right, good.
I know you don't want to get political,
but did you see the CDC made a post?
It's more like the CDC.
You know what I mean?
There's little...
S-E-E-D-Y.
Yes, C-D.
Oh, nice.
Just, like, made some, like,
we love to do something,
but the Democrats are blah, blah.
It's like a fucking wild.
Even the fucking CDC.
Oh, yeah.
All the agencies have been fully politicized.
Like, HUD is posting, like,
blaming the Democrat,
the radical left Democrats.
Look at this bird flu,
and then they're showing a cow.
How does that...
That doesn't make sense.
I don't know what you're looking at.
Yeah, during the Democratic-led government shutdown.
What a fucking...
Anyway, let's have a break from it all
for a couple hours.
I think we should.
All right.
I think we...
First of all, let's talk about the brim.
The brim that you brought with us today,
that brim on your head.
Yeah.
We've never seen anything longer.
Matt, are we worried that we're not seeing
New York Jonathan's eyes with this brim?
Should I see myself in the monitor or no?
Does that matter?
Am I supposed to?
Do that.
Oh, there we go.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's the...
This is the New York Jonathan Longbrim
for Office Hours East fans.
You're very familiar.
I could do this.
Did you send Matt the video
that I asked you to send him?
Did that get transferred?
That you sent me?
We'll get it at some point.
Did I send it to him?
Can you get it?
Because I want to talk about it.
I thought you were going to send it.
I mean, you had it.
I have it, but I don't know how to get it.
You could have sent it.
Hold on.
And I don't think you did ask me to send it.
First of all, I got to go through...
Oh, Jesus Christ.
I know, the coughing...
At least I'm on this side.
I'm definitely not...
I went way far from the mic.
I'm not...
I'm worried about germs.
I'm not sitting in Vic's chair.
Oh, that's the way.
FYI, I'm staying right here.
Thank you very much.
All your germs are going right up my ass.
I can try sending it right now.
Yeah, let's...
Do you have Wi-Fi in here?
Oh, God.
That I should hook up to?
Could hook up to?
Yeah, it's complicated.
Yeah, I have to download it.
It's complicated.
Here, let me just...
No, I'll do it.
It's easier for me to do it than for you.
Let's say hi to this guy's dog while we're waiting.
Is the dog there?
Oh, God.
Oh, I want to see the dog.
Computers!
Show John your dog.
You know this dog, apparently.
Oh, I do?
Sonny Jim, are you there?
You got to make some noise, human, so that you can't...
There you go.
Can you hear us?
I literally can't do this because I download it.
Oh, what a cutie.
And it saves...
I don't know where it saves to.
Yeah, we can hear you great.
We hear the dog.
We hear you.
I'm hearing some fake panting.
This is Sonny Jim from Prospect Park.
Sonny Jim?
Wait, have I met Sonny Jim?
Yeah, at the dog park at Offley Showers.
Do you go to the Nethermead or the Mainfield?
Got it to you, Matt.
Longmeadow, man.
Which one's the Longmeadow?
Yeah, the main one.
That's a big one.
I'm not seeing Zoom.
Are you usually at 9th Street or the Garfield area?
Garfield area.
Oh, Sonny Jim.
Look at that face and that cute black and white leg.
Oh, Sonny Jim.
I feel like I haven't seen Sonny Jim in a long time.
You know this dog?
Oh, it's not one of the regulars, but I will...
Oh, my God, look at that.
We only go like once a week.
I feel like it's been a while, but oh, my gosh, what a cutie.
Yeah, we had a conversation about his name, and you went on this long tangent
about how you were...
This Dr. Seuss story that you thought that the name was coming from, Sonny Jim.
And then at the end, I told you it was from a David Lynch thing.
Oh, that sounds familiar.
Maybe I was talking about the story Too Many Daves.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Is that it?
Yeah, because Too Many Daves, and it's this mom, and she names all the kids
Dave, and it's 24 Dave, or something like that.
And then they talk about all the names that could have been, and one was Sin
Jim, or something like that.
It sounded like Sonny Jim.
All right.
Thank you very much for the question.
Goodbye.
I would be happy to talk about Sonny Jim and just look at that cute face all
morning.
I'm out of town, and I miss my dog, so I relish all dog time.
Are your kids...
You have kids, are they fully grown and out of the house yet?
No.
They're older, but they're not out of the house.
Okay.
Not one in...
You have one in high school.
One in high school.
One is college age.
That's a good question.
Not in college.
He...
He...
Not mentally...
Not a guy that would get into college.
He's doing a gap year this year.
He's having a reset, figuring it out.
What's the point, right, of higher education?
There's no point in sort of pursuing any dreams or goals.
Well, just figure out what you want to do.
Yeah.
You know, we tried to give him that, like, listen, no pressure.
He went to school last year and then decided to take a year off,
and we support that, and so he's figuring it out.
Selfishly, I'm happy to have him back home, of course.
Indulge.
But, yes, my kids.
How old are your kids?
Well, we don't talk about my kids on the show.
I was going to say, I don't want to talk about my kids on the show,
but I just have...
Just kidding.
I had a very...
I'll tell you a very sweet moment I had with my kid,
if you want to really drag the show down.
Well, look, we're keeping it light.
We're avoiding politics.
And let's have dogs and children and...
Now, I'm a proud dad, and I'm a very talented guy.
Let's remember these two things.
Jesus Christ.
So, and I'm like, well, I probably will have talented kids, right?
I love Batman.
That's what we think.
That's what we hope, we strive for.
Sure.
My daughter, she's got the theater bug.
Okay.
So she was doing theater last year,
and now she's in this new middle school,
and they're doing this production of Aladdin.
Ooh.
Right?
Based on the cartoon.
Sure.
Robin Williams.
And she goes,
I'm going to go out for Genie,
the Robin Williams character.
I don't know.
I don't think I'm going to get it, she says.
And she almost doesn't give it a ton of attention.
She kind of goes,
I'm going to go in.
I'm going to do what I can.
I'm going to try my best.
But there's this other kid I think has got it.
He seems like he's got it.
You know where this is going.
What's his name?
I'm not giving the kid's name.
I don't know it.
Give me a name.
Let's call him Sonny Boy.
Sonny Jim.
Sonny Jim.
Jimmy Son.
His prick.
This little piece of shit who's not,
he's going to maybe fall down before the play.
She goes in, she does the audition,
she goes, it went okay,
but I'm not worried about it.
As long as I'm in the play, I'm happy.
That's a good attitude.
Sure.
Then she gets the callbacks.
He goes, I got callbacks.
I'll do the callbacks.
It went pretty well,
but I'm not too stressed.
I hope I'm just in the play.
What an attitude.
Do your best.
That's all you can do.
I'm at home.
Control that you can.
She's texting me.
She gets this text.
She gives me this text.
This is what it says.
Dad, dad, dad, dad.
All in a row.
I got genie.
Oh my God.
I almost, I get emotional now.
That's awesome.
Yes, you fucking did.
A couple of days ago.
Did you drive to the other parent's house?
Hey, fuck you, my kid.
That's great.
But I did hear tell about some other parents.
Not mad about her, about some other parts.
There was some politics going on.
Oh, Je
