okay welcome to on cinema let's try a little name that tune my name is Tim
Heidecker Greg my sorry my guest is Greg Turkington and Greg name this tune
the Addams Family did you get it's the Addams Family I know the tune well I'm a
big fan of the
original TV show and also the movie and also you told me we were doing family
that well that's
part of part of a broadcasting is you have to use your imagination a little bit
and next time
don't give away that I told you the name of the movie yeah well I would have
got it I would have got it
anyway so because I love the love the TV show and and we're talking about the
movie today though which
is a little different a lot of the cast were not available let me back up and
say that the movie
we're doing let me just say that back up and say the movie we're doing today on
on cinema is Addams
Family from 1996 with John asked no no with the John essence from a TV show
this
was from the movie called Addams Family with Raul he's a Raul Julian guy yeah
African guy I mean a
Italian a Latin guy it's yeah well his name is Raul John Raul Julia he passed
away it's kind of
strange that they wouldn't have gotten John Astin clearly he could have done
the role he wasn't too
old because guess what Raul Julia is dead John Astin still alive Raul Julia is
actually the
older of the two and I believe John Astin would have been better in the role
was there any controversy
around his death because of it is a sort of a horror movie and sometimes you
hear of like for example the
movie poltergeist has everyone heard that story it's a sad story about the girl
who's in poltergeist and
she died everybody in it died the whole cast is dead there's no controversy
about the Addams Family the
controversy is simply why hire an older actor to play a role let's not focus on
the negative the positive this
movie is it's very funny very macabre and also one of my favorite actors of all
time is in the movie Christopher Lloyd
I love Christopher Lloyd and I think they could have kept Christopher Lloyd but
ditched
everything about this is great the art direction is great the music is perfect
of course no that's it the movie's great but if you had John
Astin then you'd have a classic and this missed being a classic by just a hair
but it's still a good movie it's still
four stars and check out Addams Family if you want to spook but not so much
that it's going to give you nightmares
it's just a fun movie it's great to watch with kids it's great to watch and if
you love Christopher Lloyd check it out because
he obviously you know Christopher Lloyd from back to the future to our future
back to the future three yeah and he's great in it it's almost like oh I can't
believe he wasn't in the TV show because he's so pitch perfect in the movie
anyway
Adam's family is on somebody good on the TV show Adam's family on dvd and also
available favorite character is Lurch
I'm
