That video of William Shatner coming off that spaceship.
Oh, my God.
Isn't that amazing?
It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
It's like two minutes long, and the whole thing is amazing.
Can we find it?
Yeah, I can send it to you.
Oh, it's one of the most perfect little comedy films I've ever seen.
And what's sad about it is what happened right after this scene that we're
going to watch
is quite, you know, listen, William Shatner's a piece of garbage.
You're talking about the president of the USS Enterprise.
No, but if you do your research on Shat, he's kind of a bad guy.
Like, he's just shitty to people, and he was, you know.
I know he has beef with Sulu.
But he's a very odd guy because he's like 90 years old.
He doesn't look that way.
He's all big and fat.
I find him interesting as just a weird, like, pop character.
How are you going to be so pudgy and 90?
I remember Randy Newman was going on about this, saying, like, hey, I ain't
going to live
too much longer if I'm going to be this big.
I just texted him.
Have you ever seen pictures of young Randy Newman?
Yeah, that's great.
Yeah, but when I saw it, I was just like, I've never seen him young until maybe
a year ago.
And I don't know.
It just felt so weird.
It felt wrong.
It felt like seeing a young cartoon or something.
Like, if you saw Papa Smurf is, like, 26 or something, you'd be like, that's
weird.
Here's what I want to say is what he then said afterwards about, you know, how
moving
it was to see the difference between, you know, the atmosphere and space.
It was very, it was well said.
Yeah.
And, you know, whatever.
It's a complicated thing.
It seems a little silly going up into space, right?
These people, I mean.
Oh, you mean, like, what's going on right now?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
I'm all for space exploration and all that.
Doug's not.
Matt's not.
I'm up for the idea, but there's sort of this novelty to it now.
Oh, for sure.
That feels a little silly.
I think if they go up, they shouldn't come back.
Let them come out.
That's fine.
It's kind of like a safari cruise now or whatever.
Let's show this, you know?
All right.
So this, this is what I.
Here we go.
Oh, here we go.
This looks like your show, Tim.
Watch this.
They don't show this on the news.
Watch this.
This is the best.
Is that Jake Bezos?
And that's just like a, like a rich guy.
Chris Boshow's in the first full Australian citizen to go to space and back.
Full Australian citizen.
It comes all half citizens go up.
Wait, but look at, there's Bill.
Looks like lost, right?
Bill's like, he's just staring.
He's waiting for another space hug.
He's kind of doing a Trump stance.
Watch this, though.
Yeah.
In a way, it's indescribable.
That's what I thought.
You have to work on it.
It's so hard to describe.
You have to work on it because not only is it different than what you thought,
it happened
so quickly.
Trust me, I must stay with this man.
First time well done.
Get out of here, people!
The impression I had that I never expected of.
Can they be quiet back here?
Is the shooting up.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
I want to hear this.
I feel like, whenever I'm on this show, I feel like Shatner can't get a word.
I want to hear this, but I also want to celebrate.
I want to hear this, but I also want to celebrate.
I want to hear this.
I want to hear this, but I also want to celebrate.
I want to hear this.
I want to hear this.
I want to hear this, but I also want to celebrate.
I want to hear this, but I want to celebrate.
I want to hear this, but I want to celebrate.
I want to hear this, but I want to celebrate.
I want to hear this, but I want to celebrate.
He's pissed.
He's pissed.
He's pissed.
He's like, "What the wrong man?"
The champagne showers have become smiles all around.
William Shatner taking in the moment clearly.
I love that.
That's what they landed in.
They got their spaceship at Home Depot.
I mean, look at that.
It's like, where's the boosters or the –
Well, they drop everything off in the sky, right?
Yeah, but that came in on like a parachute?
Yeah, it had a – yeah, like a – what do you call it?
Yeah, a parachute.
So that thing slammed into the dirt?
Yeah.
No.
That just looks like some VIP tent to Coachella or something.
I love that.
I want to recreate that scene.
I want to hear what you have to say.
I want to hear that, but hold on.
Let me get this.
Yahoo!
Shatner just bellies out.
What's just happening?
Staring at the ground.
Look at that shot.
Where's my – where's my frame?
Where should I sit?
Bezos there.
There's a story back from the old days of Star Trek, the TV show.
Yeah.
There was some argument between Nimoy and Shatner.
Yeah.
And they say – there was something about like this publicity photo that was
going to be done,
some bullshit TV guide or something.
And they went up to Shatner and said, you know, Bill, we're going to be
starting a little late because there's the –
Nimoy is getting this photo taken for TV.
You guys are like, well, then I'm not coming out of my trailer until – I'm
not coming out of my trailer until – until he does or something.
Yeah.
And it turned into this standoff.
Like a cold war where they did not – either of them didn't leave their
trailer for two days or some shit.
I wish William Shatner had been in Blade 3 because then him and Wesley Snipes
could have gone toe-to-toe with like trailer stuff.
You know the stories of Blade 3, right?
No, I don't know about those.
Apparently it was hell and there was lots of like I'm not coming out of my
trailer moments.
I wasn't there, but that's what I've read.
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's talk to somebody else.
