One, two, three, four.
Four, five, nine.
Seven.
I don't read.
Two, eight, four.
Yeah.
Three.
Breakfast!
Nine.
I am so confused.
Seven, six.
I like havin' fun.
I like to laugh.
I like to meet people who can make me laugh.
I like havin' fun.
Yes, I like to laugh.
I like havin' fun to meet people who can laugh.
*sad music*
All righty then.
Who said that?
Who famously said, "All righty then!"
Doug?
All righty then.
Oh, Drew Carey.
Drew Carey.
Drew Carey.
Drew, no.
Jim Carey.
The mask.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is that time of day.
It is Thursday, in fact.
Look at Jack.
It's Thursday, June 23rd.
It's summertime.
School's out.
High school's out tomorrow.
I love being able to play with that.
I love the timing of that.
I love the creativity of the strategic marketing concept.
School's out.
School's out.
What school?
Oh, my kid's school?
No, no, no.
My new record.
High school.
Kind of clever.
Kind of smart.
And you'll see it in the sales.
You'll see the fruits of my labor paying off when the sales report comes in.
And we find that we've made a number one record once again.
It's charting very high.
It looks like it's going to be a million seller by tomorrow night.
Yeah.
What an honor to be here delivering you.
A podcast, a TV show, a YouTube experience.
Some people watch on Twitch.
I don't know who those people are.
Look, I'm not kidding.
I'm going to be Biden.
Look, I'm not kidding.
I'm not joking around.
Some people do watch on Twitch.
But we like to focus people on one place here today.
Twitch.
I got hairy legs.
We got a couple of our hearts on Twitch.
No, no, no.
Look, Jack.
I'm not kidding around.
But pay.
I'm being serious.
He hasn't.
Not at all.
Not at all.
I wrote the bill.
On the environment.
But don't let up now.
Now.
Pay them more.
You crazy guy.
You crazy guy.
I'm not in doubt I have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Hey, we're equal opportunity goofers, right?
We goof on whoever's in charge.
Whoever's sitting at that top seat of power.
I'm not some kind of partisan hack.
I'm friends with George Bush.
Now I do want to welcome a couple people to the show.
Sick.
Sick.
He's been.
This would be an on cinema move, but I never regard you as a full.
He's been on the show a few times.
Happy to have him here.
He's talking to me.
Yeah.
Mr. DJ.
And of course.
I'm speaking French.
Wearing a new hat.
Trying it out.
Trying it out.
What do you think?
When are you going to land on the look?
Because I think this is it.
I've worn this hat before, but I haven't worn it like this.
Yeah.
And where did you get the Death Row Records shirt?
I got this at a store.
They had it at a t-shirt shop.
Is that Suge Nights?
I went to the fashion.
Real Charlie Rose over here.
Yeah.
It goes to his fund in jail and he can buy whatever he wants.
It's just the hat to me is a little Howdy Doody.
A little Howdy Doody.
It's a little Howdy Doody.
It's a little Howdy Doody.
I like Howdy Doody.
It's mine.
Many people like it.
You watch old Howdy Doody's?
I just got the Howdy Doody box set.
Good shit.
The city of the town.
Whoa.
Whoa.
Somebody wants to get out of here on time.
Maram.
It's not personal.
That was a club.
Sitting in on Keys.
Sitting in on Alicia Keys.
Who sings this line about Alicia Keys?
I was thinking about Alicia Keys.
Trying to get to...
She was born in hell's kitchen.
That's a line from a Dylan song, Thunder on the Mountain.
What the hell are we going to do without men?
Captain Starlin, Captain Starlin.
My frequent musical collaborator.
We now have two records under our belt as a collaborative team.
Mr. Drew Erickson on the Nord Stage 3.
Coming in from the empty high school hallway.
We finally got ourselves a Paul Schafer over here.
Drew.
Use the microphone, please, to say hello.
Wake up!
Wake up!
Hello.
Good morning to you.
Thank you very much.
After I sing, I can usually use a nice tinkle.
Now we've seen, Drew, before you accompanied Natalie Maring Wiseblood at the
big...
What was that show?
Live show at the Dynasty typewriter.
Does she go by Natalie Wiseblood these days?
I said Natalie Maring Wiseblood.
Oh, okay. Sorry.
Hyphen.
And...
Not a man of many words?
We'll try to...
You speak with the keys.
I speak with...
Yeah, with the Nord.
He's a man of many fingers.
That is pretty.
That's a pretty tone.
It's like kind of...
Ooh.
Sour note, though, from you.
You want to tune up?
That's the goal.
Why don't you tune up?
Anyways.
Nord.
You're here.
I'm here, yeah.
You were instrumental, co-producer, played a lot of instruments on the record.
Keyboards, guitar, and a little bit of drums.
Right.
They kind of rotated.
I'm actually quite good on bass.
You didn't play any bass on the record, capiche?
No, no, no, I didn't.
No, I played some guitar.
Well, listen.
Yeah, you did.
A notable guitar, which we'll talk about...
Guitar!
Now.
We also have somebody special sitting in the control room.
I don't know if he's there, if you can hear us.
Are you there, control room?
Ground control.
Give me some...
Ground control to Major Tom.
Is that mic on in that control room?
Ground control to Major Tom.
We'll sing.
Right.
Check ignition, countdown's on.
Ground control to Major Tom.
Hello.
Hello, Major Tom.
It's me.
It's a guy in the control room.
Commencing countdown engines on.
Hello, it's Mr.
I don't really remember.
I don't really remember what it does after that, though.
It's minor.
Distant.
And may God love me with you.
D-dunk.
D-dunk.
D-dunk.
D-dunk.
D-dunk.
Six.
Give me the Joe Rogan counter.
Commence.
D-dunk.
There it is.
There it is.
So, yeah.
A, I.
And G.
And then D-dunk.
And then D-dunk.
And then D-dunk.
And then back to C.
I'm getting very scared.
Nine.
Eight.
Seven.
Six.
Five.
Three.
Three.
Two.
One.
Countdowns on.
I should just look up the lyrics.
This is an annoying song titled Space Oddity.
Space.
What should we call it, David?
We'll call it Space Odyssey.
No, Space Oddity.
See?
It's a pun off the movie, the Stanley Kubrick movie, you see?
Yes.
That's how we're going to play it.
This is Ground Control to Major Tom.
This is Ground Control to Major Tom.
You've really made the grade.
And the papers want to know who shirts you wear.
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare.
Imagine Ground Control telling you that.
One.
It's time to leave the capsule if you dare.
What are you talking about?
If I dare?
Excuse me.
I thought you guys were here to help.
But then Major Tom chimes in.
This is major time to ground control. I'm stepping through the dark. And I'm
floating in the most peculiar way. And the stars are very different today.
For here, sitting in a tin can. Far above the world. Planet Earth is blue. And
there's nothing I can do.
There's a big breakdown. Oh, you can't do it. I'll have to do it.
Right? It's a big one. We could have rehearsed it probably. Well, it was not
discussed. Anyways, that's our show. Thank you for shooting. I'll be doing that
on tour all summer long.
You just need to give me a list beforehand. I know. Well, well. We do have a
space. Is ground control there?
Ground control is up. Let's bring it up. Yeah. That's how we started on this
journey here. He's there. Here's ground control.
Here's ground control. Whoa. Hello. Hello. Hello. What? As usual, I can't see.
Hello. Hello, Mr. Berger. Hello. He's in space? Hello. Hello, I'm lost in space.
You're lost in the space between your ears. Yeah, absolutely. Mr. Berger is
here. He will be joining us in the second half of the show for a command
musical performance. I don't know about that. I do. Warm up your pipes, Dad.
Okay. Okay.
Okay. Okay. La, la, la, la, la. How about this? How about...
Dick Berger is an American treasure. The David Bowie with the callback to
ground control in the song Ashes to Ashes.
Yes. Pretty cool. Ashes to Ashes. We know Major Tom's a junkie.
Major Tom's a junkie. But in the song Space Oddity, the impression is that
Major Tom has gone off into space and to never return.
He's not coming back.
No.
Yep, I mean...
Ground control, your circuit's dead. There's something wrong.
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
So, I mean, the only way out of that is to either let it happen to you over a
few days or do you have like a suicide pill or something?
You know, like the...
That's a great question. Right.
And it reminds me of this important thing to bring up. I am very much enjoying
a program on Apple TV called For All Mankind.
Wow.
Highly recommend.
What it's about to eat.
Here's the premise. Get this. It's set in the late 60s. It's set at the NASA,
the Apollo missions and everything like that. But it's sci-fi because the twist
is the Russians get to the moon before we do.
They faked it before we did.
Easy with this one.
I can't with him.
But it sets off an alternate history. Do you like alternate histories?
I do.
You like alternate histories?
Oh, you like that?
I like alternate histories.
You like when the one guy wrote all the Beatles songs? You like that?
I don't know about these alternate histories.
Is that movie Yesterday? Yesterday?
Yesterday?
Where the Beatles didn't exist and the guy...
Oh, I did see that. Yeah.
I mean, it's good on the plane. It's fine. I don't think that one. I give it a
D, not an F.
That and Geostorm were pretty good on the plane.
Geostorm? I don't know Geostorm.
You don't know Geostorm?
What do you give that? I mean, was that like a big old worldwide disaster movie?
Yeah.
I love those.
Got to start grading stuff because it's today's high school.
Yes, we are celebrating my record, but in the spirit of the record, we are
going to be issuing out our final report cards for the year for all of the Holy
Trinity, myself included, and Captain Carlin,
who is not a part of the Holy Trinity.
Tim, did you ever bring your teacher an apple?
Yeah, with a razor blade in it.
Oh!
How do you get that in there?
That's the hard part, you know?
Yeah, I don't think they did the razor blades in an apple.
Full razor blade in an apple?
I don't think, you know, in the history of Halloween, I don't think no kid has
ever died.
In the history of Halloween.
From eating like tainted candy or like deadly candy or it hasn't been a thing.
That's a...
The other big breaking news...
But we worry about it.
See this?
Yeah.
The breaking news I also want to share with you is at the end of today's
program at around noon, I'm just going to be...
We're going to be streaming the whole record.
So stick around.
Keep...
If you're around...
If not, it's coming out tomorrow.
Don't matter.
But we're just going to put it on.
You don't have to stay.
Leave.
You've heard the record.
We're just going to play it.
Who gives a shit?
It's my radio show.
I do whatever I want.
Now where can people get it?
Play a chord from the record.
By memory.
Just any chord from the record that you recall playing and enjoying.
I think I play this one.
There it is.
That was a pretty one.
Yeah.
What is that?
A F, G, A...
B flat.
B flat.
Oh, yeah.
Tim, where can people get it?
Tower, Virgin?
Sam Goody only.
We have an exclusive with Sam Goody.
Sam Goody.
How about Sam Ash?
They don't sell records.
Sam's Club.
Go on iTunes and buy it.
Why don't we check in with a Zoomer?
Please.
This is of course what I was going to suggest.
Carlos Ruva, do you have a topic?
I bet you do.
I can tell.
I kind of do.
It's not really a topic, but I just want some advice.
Yes, I love giving advice.
I have tremendous advice to give.
I've been having a really bad week.
On Monday, my girlfriend and I broke up.
Aw.
And then yesterday, I tested positive for COVID.
First time ever getting it.
Aw.
Shit, man.
So I'm giving you some advice.
Did you get it from this broad who broke your heart?
No, I got it from work.
Some guy went to Ecuador and he came back and gave it to him.
Aw.
Well, my advice is don't go to Ecuador.
Stay above that equator.
Stay either above or below.
Northern Hemisphere, please.
Yeah, stay away from that center of the earth.
That's bad news there.
Yep.
Any part of the world you find in conflict, strife, trouble?
Today on the show, a very special progra
