Musical Mashups | Ep. 121

All right, does this look good?
Yeah.
Are we clapping?
You already clapped?
Yeah, yeah.
My milkshake, my milkshake brings other, my milkshake brings other, my milkshake
brings
other, snooze, blackbird singing in the dead of life.
Nate, get it in there.
And I wonder if you know what I mean.
Means.
That's kind of sick.
That was very impressive.
Oh.
So that's the joy right there.
What you witnessed was a live mashup.
Mashup.
That is, um.
By the way, we could have kept going for a long time.
I never, we will later.
Do you know how many songs we all collectively and individually know?
I got my two big ones out of the way.
My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, dropping like it's hot.
Kanye.
I was shocked at how hard it was.
Oh, I know.
I thought, yeah, I thought I was going to think of so many songs, but I
immediately, there's
a roadblock.
Well, you know what the roadblock was, was the pressure that you put on
yourself.
Right.
So let me just stop judging myself and just say what songs come to mind.
You want to?
Yeah.
You want to have an instrumental?
Yeah, let's do it again.
Okay, a new instrumental.
This time, no judgment.
And I'm going to, you know how you do that?
You know how you do that?
How?
I have nothing left to lose.
My belly's out.
Wow.
There's no more, could I look foolish?
Belly out.
Holy shit.
Let it be what it is.
All right?
Let's go ahead.
This is a 33-year-old man's belly.
Welcome to Joy Tactics, the podcast dedicated to all things joyful, joyous, and
meeting as
many celebrities as humanly possible.
Hosted by Eric Rahill, Nate Veroni, and Jack Bensinger.
Enjoy.
Eric.
What?
Oh, the music.
Play the music, man.
I was going to keep my belly out for it, but now I'm insecure again.
Keep it out.
Keep it out, man.
I thought you had to.
I don't want to keep it out.
I feel bad about it.
I thought you had to say about it.
No, I don't.
Oh.
I was giving you space, dude.
Well, thank you.
Sorry I reacted.
I'll go belly out, just in solidarity.
Oh, okay.
I mean, a little bit.
You can't take your belly out, because you've got a natural God's sweater on.
I know, yeah, yeah.
Go belly out.
Look how hairy that is, man.
Bro.
Can't even see that shit.
God didn't give me hair, because he wanted to go skin to skin with me for life.
Little bear, mama bear, papa bear bellies.
No, no, three little.
Take your pick.
Dude, too small.
Rate all of our bellies individually, please, in the comments, and what you
like about them,
and what you would do to them.
Oh, who wants to rub it?
Who wants to suck porridge out of them?
Who wants to spit on it?
Oh, all right.
All right, that was spitting, bro.
This is a royalty-free episode, Nate.
All right, wait, Jack.
Get going.
All right.
Birds flying high.
You want to get fucked up?
I just made a song up.
They started out as a real one.
All right.
Well, we'll let you cook.
All right.
Bellies away.
We'll check back in at the end of the episode.
I bet I'll feel much more comfortable.
So, Eric.
Yes, yes.
Yes.
You're a comedian, actor, writer.
Right.
Friend.
Friend.
Friend.
Foe of Russian enemies.
No foes.
No alive foes.
Future prisoner of war.
Future and past POW.
Long COVID survivor.
Ally.
White ally.
Bomberman expert.
That's right.
Bomberman expert.
The video game?
Yeah, man.
Bomberman.
Oh, you know what I just heard about was the Elden Ring movie.
No, no, no.
Well, that, but the co-op.
Night Rain.
Somebody, Danny was telling me that this is a, like, Fortnite style.
It is.
Fortnite.
Elden Ring.
It is.
Nobody told me about this.
That sounds fucking awesome.
There's a storm that's enclosing in.
You have to defeat a boss.
Yeah.
Within that.
Are you kidding me?
And it's three player.
Oh, it's maybe designed for Joyetech.
It was, all I'm saying is, we either, we have to play it, all three of us.
Oh, I'll play it.
No, no, no.
Possibly.
Nice try.
One single stream.
One, one.
One single Twitch stream.
Bro, we would fucking break the Twitch internet.
Wait, did you know that Raleigh was saying last night that you can see the
Spotify streaming
numbers?
And, you know what?
It just reinforces the idea that we are a niche interest.
Right.
No, you can't.
I'm going to go to that right now.
No, but it wasn't showing every time, but.
Niche Niche.
Yeah, right.
What's the other one?
What, what, what is that from?
That's from Ali G's show.
Niche Niche.
Oh, Niche Niche and that's what's up.
No.
I mean, no.
You're talking about when he's interviewing the, like, fashion guy?
No, he's interviewing.
That's Niche Niche.
He's asking him, like, what's okay with the, under the eyes of God or something.
I think he's talking to, like, a religious man.
He says, like, is this Niche Niche?
Oh.
Or is this, yuck, what is it?
Right.
Anyways.
Well, life has been very long for us.
For us?
Yeah.
I was feeling, you know, every, maybe I've said this before, but every night
when I go
to bed, I can't believe I'm going to sleep again, bro.
Yeah.
Again?
Again, another one?
And likely probably have a bunch more to come.
Yeah.
And I remember, I remember having that thought about eight, 900 sleeps ago,
1500 sleeps ago.
I'm like, damn, I can't believe I'm going, doing this shit again.
You know what that tells me?
What?
You're not looking at your phone long enough.
Yes, I am.
No, you're not.
Yes, I am.
Because if you are, I don't notice that I'm falling asleep because I'm riding
it to the
very end.
I am engaged and active and I'm falling asleep on the battlefield of
entertainment.
All I'm saying is, I think, you'd think I would be better at fucking sleeping
if, if
I put so many, you know, hours into it.
The Malcolm Gladwell, that's where Malcolm Gladwell, I have a, his 10,000 hours
theory.
Sleep?
Yeah, because if that would be the case, then I would be able to fall asleep at
will anytime
that I could go to sleep right now.
Right, because you've slept way more than 10,000 hours.
Nate, do you want to tell everybody what you told me yesterday?
What did I say about why you got really good sleep?
Oh, yeah, of course.
Yeah, thanks, Eric.
You think I'm a crazy person, don't you?
I want the scientist listeners, because I know we have a lot of scientists, to
weigh in.
I swear, I think that's a, I think it's a thing.
Wait, but you haven't touched over this.
Okay, well, I'll reveal this now.
Okay, okay, okay.
So, I'm just experimenting, you know, I get, I get horrible sleep, you know.
Right, and that's not a joke.
Often.
I'm not laughing at that.
And, but you are.
But I turned off the Wi-Fi.
Right.
Okay.
And the Wi-Fi router is, like, right next to my bed.
Right.
And I turned it off, and usually when I get up in the morning, I'm kind of,
like, a little
groggy and, like, you know, putting the snooze alarm.
The night that I turned off the Wi-Fi, eyes wide open.
Ready to go.
Let's go.
Did you turn it off last night?
Yeah.
Great sleep to get again?
No, not great sleep.
Okay, so, interesting.
I still need to test this out.
So, you're just into testing.
Jack, I don't know if you're good at, like, formulating scientific processes
and theories.
Like, you need a couple of nights, and you also need a, what, a control.
So, somebody who's, like, sleeping inside of, like, the 5G tower.
Well, listen, it's interesting.
The sacrificial lamb.
No!
You need somebody sleeping in the Spectrum data center, just to kind of, and
see what,
and hook up fucking brain scans at each one, and see what's up.
You could just cuddle with it a couple nights a week.
Right.
Kind of move it, move it away a little bit.
ModemSpooners.com.
Make some money off of it, too.
Yeah.
Modem Spooners.
That's going to be the first AI.
They do give up a good amount of heat.
Yeah.
More than a cat.
Yeah.
That's for sure.
Trust.
Why would the fuck would that work, Nate?
Look, look it up, look it up.
Look up, does Wi-Fi affect sleep?
Like, ask chapter GBT it.
Okay, okay, okay.
I'm sure, I'm sure.
But you can't escape Wi-Fi.
Yes, you, what are you talking about?
Your modem, the radio waves, if you're near a cell phone tower, you're near a
cell phone tower.
That's not Wi-Fi, bro.
If you're underwater, I'm going to think of a good one here.
If you're underwater, dude, and you...
Fuck.
Keep going.
Fuck you, man.
Hold on.
All right.
If you're underwater, and you open your mouth and start drinking the ocean,
yeah.
Right?
You're going to be doing that.
But if you close your mouth, you're still in the ocean.
That's obvious as day.
Damn, I never thought about it that way.
I never thought about it that way, so...
Well, that's because you're close-minded.
Here's what Zion says.
Wi-Fi meets non-ionizing radiation, which is low energy and not strong enough.
Low energy, not ionizing, dude.
Yeah, but...
If it's ionizing, that's when you need to worry, it's your mobile style.
Wait, wait, wait.
Multiple studies have looked for effects on sleep from EMFs, electromagnetic
fields, but results...
They know.
Results are mixed and often inconclusive.
If there's an effect, it's very subtle.
Electronic milk.
Far less than what a phone screen or stress will do.
So this is what it says.
What can affect sleep?
Blue light.
And I know you're taking the blue light baths in the morning.
You bought all those iPhone 7s that are hella cheap.
You joke, but he's got the full blue light microwave right there.
Yeah, what is it?
Is that the seasonal affective disorder?
I am so optimized, pilled.
It's just disconcerting.
It is.
I'm glad we...
You know, a friend can't usually say that to someone.
They have to come upon that realization by themselves.
Yeah, yeah.
And then a friend can come in with the help and the institution to take care of
you.
I feel crazy.
So if you're ready to go to the facility right now, we can take you away at the
Mazel 3.
The de-optimization facility.
The de-optimization facility, which is located at Verdugo Bar.
L.A. reference.
Very good.
Very cool.
Yeah.
Verdugo.
Right.
Then we're taking a trip to the Panda Inn, which is the fancy Panda Express.
Then we're going gambling.
Then we're staying up until 6 a.m.
Then we're going to a strip club to observe.
Then we're flying to Dubai.
Then we're running for office.
Then we're fixing up the sleep worker housing.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Dubai.
Dubai.
Dubai.
Dubai.
You know what I'm trying to say?
Yeah.
No.
Goodbye?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Dubai.
Dubai.
Have you guys had that Dubai chocolate?
Yes.
I'm saving that for my wedding.
I'm falling to my knees.
There's no cake.
It's like there's no food at all.
Just one piece of Dubai chocolate for the groom.
No, you've got to have the strawberry Kit Kats, the green tea Kit Kats.
You've got to have the whole.
Have you had Dubai chocolate?
You know my candy admiring self has tried it.
I would say maybe worth it.
Dubai chocolate?
Bistachio, creamy, pistachio on the inside?
Pretty fucking good.
Yeah.
You know where I had this?
In Dubai?
London with you.
With you two.
Oh, it's down in London time.
I remember that.
Yeah.
We went into like the most Dubai chocolate place in the world.
You guys didn't even get a piece of it.
Was that when I was hungover and laying in bed all day?
No, that was after going to the casino and I had COVID-19 again.
Right.
Can you guys believe I'm going back?
What should I hit when I go back?
Oh, my.
Rios.
Donor kebab.
Isn't that what it is?
What are you going to be there for?
Eight days.
Damn.
Eight days.
Wow.
Just book the flight.
Put it that way.
Eric's doing a week abroad for spring break.
For my journal.
Mash-ups, right?
Girl talk.
That's what we're talking about.
Oh, yeah.
We have to bring up girl talk, of course.
Girl talk.
What's the number one girl talk song?
Did they have a song?
Yes.
With titles?
Yeah.
And I would like to give a shout out to Girl Talk's lawyer, because I'm sure
that was
extremely complicated, getting the rights to all of these different songs.
And I know he's in the studio.
Yeah.
Damn.
Pulling out of high school graduation, peeling out my mom's Ford Explorer.
Sexually frustrated.
I saw this live.
I saw Girl Talk live.
I can't believe it.
Dude, the album cover...
Wa
