Bouncing Back | Ep. 132

well well well
damn i needed that man i really did need that yeah thank you man you're welcome
in any time
so wow so we're already off to a fucking amazing start um well let's just
address this up top because
the patrons on thursday for the thursday premium episode got what i would call
a premium apology
about about an hour-long flagellation uh for what happened on uh monday's
episode last week where
the audio was less than amazing um so we kind of did the apology already and if
you're not a non-patron
member the premium apology yeah we did a premium apology but if you're a non-patron
member now
it's monday and you're like what are these guys gonna do to take accountability
well we already
did that and so this episode is not about accountability it's about bouncing
back
becoming better than ever and leaving shame in the past and going forward and
just being the best
that you can be without fucking looking back or even thinking about what you've
done in the past
right right who said it best who's saying it best right now
no other than the slap gang what me oh setback is this set up oh well sure
but will smith yep you know what he's expressing this is the bounce back
watch will y'all this is the bounce back
every step of will smith's like
come back is just like it's insane
he thought he bothered that shit so crazy like he was probably like walked away
from that session
like i am kendrick lamar i'm fucking i'm the fucking welcome to joy tactics the
podcast dedicated to all
things joyful joyous and meeting as many celebrities as humanly possible hosted
by eric ray hill nate
veroni and jack fencinger enjoy i'm the goat he looks at the camera while
rapping in a way that my
cat looks at me when she wants me to stop watching her eat food because she's
like getting ready to
fucking attack me maybe your cat's like uh throwing out crazy bars and in her
head
my ancestors visit me they surrounded me gave me the vision vividly gave me a
lion to protect me in this
industry now i just walk and heat you through my enemies feel like i'm just
getting started they
tried to finish me i'm like the universe infinite there's no end in me
this is the bounce back
raw raw dude i mean but shout out to him for getting on lyrical lemonade i know
that is a
difficult uh selection process you've tried to yeah well yeah i don't want to
get ahead of it
but uh the paper on um peacock is trying to get me if i can out there a little
bit more
and so they're putting me up for a lot of these cross-promotional
uh the paper congratulations eric i saw the side of your head in one of the
posters
i think it's time to say eric is an extra in the paper and he's been like
really playing this up and
i've been wanting to say something about this because he's been teasing it for
so long
but like everyone's gonna know in like a month that no no it's gonna come out i'm
really not actually
you're just a you're an extra for like three seconds in the in in one episode i
was i will
say i had like two or three childhood friends reach out and they were like it's
kind of the same thing
in almost everything that i've ever been in or we've ever been in where it's
like hey man good job
man you did it dude keep trying man this is awesome that you even to where you're
getting
that's awesome news man and you know what you wanted to do and you never gave
up that's awesome
man yeah that's gonna pay off you're getting so close it's so good it's exactly
nice man dude i
saw that that's so cool hey man like literally one of my friends was like i was
like squinting to see
if you i was like is that eric and then like yeah it really was you
but um yeah what would be the perfect response the perfect text message to the
trailer coming out from
a childhood friend that you had who was a bully to you and had disrespected you
many times in
elementary school and they're reaching out for the first time since you have
seen them in the past
what would be that what would be that perfect message that the perfect message
would be this a venmo
for 50 that says go to the nearest brewery and meet me now and we get some
juicy juicy juicy daytime ipas
that are under five percent abv and i respond back i'm not saying anything
until you speak your piece
and say sorry and they show up i've already been downing ipas by myself before
they get there with that
50 and they're so late and you're just like getting wasted with tears in their
eyes i'm sorry bro i
fucking doubted you from day one i was doubting you and your abilities and now
i'm eating my words
literally literally and then i adapt literally say you think i was mad about
that dude i forgave you
immediately because i knew you thought about it since right i haven't thought
about that since
but that can't happen because all of your friends everybody you've ever grown
up with is dead so
it's like impossible for this to happen oh my god dude i realized i do i have i
have some i went over
to eastern washington this week to visit my childhood friend nick and had a
great time with him and his
girlfriend lily and um it's a different vibe if you don't know eastern washington
very different vibe
than western washington it is is there rural very rural he lives in pullman so
when i was a kid i'd go
out there and visit in the summers but pullman is a 10 minute drive to a town
called moscow
do you guys recognize that name from the media the moscow no sir the moscow
murders
oh would that be the college kid who's the college kids that were stabbed to
death by that one guy who's
now on trial brian's whatever he looks like uh he's from hell and uh basically
i was talking to nick and
nick used to cook at a sorority okay and one of the girls was a member
i got sorority so he was yes so he was cooking after like the day after it all
happened what do you
imagine oh i see what you're saying now the one of the girls who was one of the
okay was a member
of the sorority that's right um well that's not good uh this was eric's
darkness corner
unsolicited darkness i couldn't believe it i couldn't believe it dude i just
learned a piece
of darkness beautiful what the fuck was it i just learned a horrible piece of
darkness that i can't
remember oh well well throw it down if you have a chance and then we'll bounce
back with some lightness
i got some lightness and in store some new igin back we're gonna go to the igin
video game reviews
see what got a eight see what got a nine see what we want to be playing on the
switch to see what
you want to be playing on xbox and all the different clubs the different uh
gaming systems
i love gamers i love them me too man they're different they're built different
but nate
varone you uh i don't want to call you out man would you call first of all
would you call yourself a gamer
um no just because that i feel like that is a disrespect to the real gamers out
there that are
have the chair they have sure sure sure uh well i was gonna say they have the
computer but i have
the alienware r16 desktop so i have that so all right let me just fast forward
to this is what
i was going to say to you you hate games man i don't hate games but what i'm
saying is you hate
real life games i would say if there are people hanging out on a couch and a
game is about to happen
you have a history of say of expressing that you don't like this you know what
i'm talking about
what you're saying like like what game like a game like let's all put a bunch
of pieces of paper in
a bowl and then pull the words out and try to guess what they are i like that
game i like the game of
conversation the game of dialogue the game of uh right but you set a clock a
little bit more bring
one of those little egg timers around with you and you put it up and you have a
15 minute clock and
say you get my time for you get my conversational time for 15 minutes and then
i'm going back home
to go read about ram das
do you know that ram das was like faded as fuck during all of those like all
those talks that he
really clipped of him like somebody was saying that he was like wasted for uh
all of those good funny
layer to put on i mean good how do you think he's tapped into what he was
tapped into you know dude
i mean this is like uh he tapped into what's that movie called um
another round another round yep mm-hmm i'm just mad that he never got i think
he's dead right
yeah he yeah and he was so he definitely didn't get to hit the fireball i
wonder what what sort of
oh maybe he would have had off the fireball you know let's read some ram das
quotes really quick
okay um who is this ram das for those some listeners might not know i obviously
know because i'm
listening um but this is he was a spiritual teacher is a spiritual guru of
sorts from the
60s and 70s okay and he would just kind of give teachings about you know
spirituality and
so he's like ben margera's friend who's helping him say different stuff in the
desert yeah yeah yeah
he's shamanic in a way i would say so he's had a bounce back he his whole life
was a bounce bounce
up for sure about here we go it's all real and it's all illusory that's
awareness
i think he did like hella lsd too like he was doing a lot of psychedelics drunk
illusory
eric i think you would have fun i know you're resistant to doing lsd but i
think you would
have fun if you were like blacked out and you did like a full like i would have
to be
what's a moment i'll let you dose me one time in my life but we need to decide
now what that moment is
that will be at uh the emmys yeah it'll be i was just thinking the same thing
when you're when you're
up for when you're like slated to definitely win like you're the front runner
of a category like it's
like it's definitely gonna be eric for this i'm gonna dose you like it's gonna
be perfectly timed where
it just hits like a light switch when you're on stage you just freeze up there
and uh
i don't know maybe you'd have an amazing speech you know you know something you
know what i've been
feeling lately is i feel like if if i ever do go to an awards ceremony i know i'm
gonna be hit with
the do you guys remember tommy lee jones first off first off if right i mean
when exactly of course i
mean when bro the nobel violence you know tommy lee jones at the uh he has a
penis yeah he does
exactly exactly jack okay tommy lee jones oscars
what's he done well he had to like
he had to be bald for a role and so this is he
he had to show up like that
he's got what's that guy david keckner that looks like david keckner
he's got uh collaboration there's there's something sick about that though like
yeah i'm actually
doing a new role where i have to look extremely different but i'll take this
award now for that
old role that i bodied as well but that's tommy lee jones oh my god when i said
that he has a
penis i was definitely thinking of someone else what are you thinking about the
same person you were
and that was i forget what his name is he's just tommy kravitz right oh he's
the musician
yes motley motley crew motla something like that mate we need to get you some
fucking elocution like confidence uh lessons elocution motley english
confidence confident
lessons confidence i would love that if anybody can help me out and just zoom
with me for a couple
hours a day and just talk with me we do that oh literally we're trying to give
you english
confidence lessons right now for the last 300 episodes well it's not working i'll
tell you that
maybe you have too much confidence because you're just walking around someone
posted a video of you
saying trying to say lemony snicket and you said lemony booklet lemony snick
book it
the thing is i don't have much storage in my brain left for things well you've
filled it with warmth
storage exactly thank you still mental storage wars love has a high mental
storage wars
you love somebody especially an enemy you know how much
fucking gigabytes and terabytes that takes up in your fucking memory space how
much this is you at like
the tech at a tech conference desperate for money hey
