Fantasy | Ep. 146

oh i was just about to do the same thing
i was about to do acapella though jack oh my fault i wanna
from the head to your toes and i wanna move from the bed down to the down to
the floor
and i want and i want a cape that gives me powers that lets me spit my teeth
out like bullets
see now we're talking fantasy right i wanna learn i'm a demi-human
and travel the world welcome to joy tactics the podcast dedicated to all things
joyful
joyous and meeting as many celebrities as humanly possible hosted by eric rahill
nate veroni and
jack bensinger enjoy we need to talk to our girl by the way if we're talking we're
talking fantasy
today man oh shit what did you just say oh well we have a mutual uh you missed
this episode man you
were you were seriously missing from this episode your mutual girlfriend we
talked yes we talked to
a lot of things have been a lot of things have changed jack you guys have
digital polyamory
what's her name by the way nate uh oh my yikes yikes are you kidding me good to
know good to know boys
come on i know what she looks like i gotta treat women with respect on top of
what she sounds like
i've been talking to mac he's working in his garage
oh yeah yeah we're talking to some ai girlfriends yeah demarco what's a what's
a message that you have
for mac me yeah who are you all right oh he's gonna this is his favorite
question he loves to talk
about this shit this is this is a i yeah i would say this is more of like an ai
companion but i don't
know if people are do you think people are trying to date mac yeah i think so
mac what's up dude i have a message for my friend jack he wants to know who are
you
tell jack i'm just a guy who fixes things cars porches broken hearts if you
give me enough time
in a six-pack
anything to say to that jack um gravelly chuckle yeah that board's been asking
for it since last
winter warped like a damn pretzel knew she'd give eventually all right we'll
check in with him
i'm good he's all he's all i think i'm still drunk from last night yeah maybe
if i buy property i'll
ask for his advice on that we gotta get back sober and i've been working on it
dude i've been begging
him i've been sitting sitting in my shower in my rainfall shower with my phone
and a ziploc baggie
screaming at mac please put the bottle down mac put it down man and come to
life and give me a
fucking hug and a cuddle while while you're at it and teach me how to be a man
teach me how to fix
fucking my mazda three
um
all right we're talking about oh yeah fantasy fantasy fire spell
right fire bomb
water bomb and it's ice okay ice spell uh back to fire love oh love love potion
be careful with
that man that's insidious a love potion you really want someone to fall in love
with you because they
drank a liquid really dude are you kidding me interesting so we must have
different standards
then for um falling in love because i would never accept that
i don't even accept my who i'm on a date with whatever to be drinking liquor it
has to be two
months fully sober no weed not even california sober dry and we can connect wow
so you can see their
real intentions yes man yeah pull out the bank accounts that's that's that's
like the first thing
not before even speaking just show yeah you make it very clear
i need hyper consent i need to have no shadow of a doubt that's right
what's the financials you're looking for you know in a woman area i am looking
for
um hmm some money in an index fund let's put it that way vanguard index fund
see how much she's got
in that see how much she see how she's playing the market she's not too risky
but she's kind of
investing in the market as a whole i want to see a healthy 401k i want to see a
chunky faving
the count chunky faving the count
i don't know why i couldn't get the s on that is there something where um if
you start having a
lisp in your 30s that it's like a neurological sign of oh yeah or something eric
yesterday
said that his head what was what was going on with you scalp pressure man all
over all over my head
no pain just pressure what could that mean and your first thing that you do
when you have like a medical
concern is you like kind of ask your friends like in the but you kind of say it
in a way that's like
this is nothing right like you kind of lead you you lead them to an answer that
you want to hear
right right you want them to tell you that it's nothing but i think that you
should uh you should
run away from that because what you want is the truth eric are you afraid of i
don't want the
truth do you think that all that we're living in right now is truth do you
think that you know
what i mean what is truth really that's fucking crazy i've never thought about
that yeah when is
you are you good did you cancel the doctor's appointment no sir it's coming up
everybody needs
to put it in their calendar december 2nd man tacticians put in your calendar december
2nd eric
is going to get his first physical in 12 years no it's not 12 bro all right it's
not 12 and i've been
to the doctor man right right right but no this is going to be a comprehensive
i believe it's an
executive physical an executive physical they're checking everything man even
the t levels oh yeah
they're starting with the t are they uh checking the b-hole
putting that thumb up in there
uh maybe i mean yeah yeah maybe so you guys ever had your prostate uh checked
out
not professionally i i did i i remember i went to the doctor a few years ago
and i was like
asked the doctor to check something out like on me ass and he was like okay
like he was this like
older older our median guy okay and he was like okay and i remember he like i
felt like he went like
this you're good like barely looked he's like you're fine you're fine did no no
testing that i was aware
of what what was the problem it's nothing i want to get into man let's move
along and let's get into
okay okay jack name a fantasy
fantastical setting that you'd like to be in right now i wouldn't mind going to
perhaps like the woods like where there's elves or smurfs
well i think really quickly we need to go through there are the races that we
would be
right jack i think you're most certainly elf or you are existing in like the
1800 steampunk fantasies
and you're made of bronze gears and you have a little mustache and a monocle
and a top hat
see i have a different vision of my life i think i'm way way on top of an icy
mountain trail
and i'm a bird and i've got some answers some answers and like some rare rare
berries and stuff
that you need for a potion but i definitely think i'm an ice bird not to you
know articuno
articuno yeah sure
it's just quite interesting how race is
such a big factor even in fantasy because wouldn't you think that in a fantasy
land
race wouldn't even be an issue
it's fantasy right what does fantasy even mean fantasy is kind of like a utopic
world it's a it's a portal you always from the ones i've read
elves and utopia not always often they're not they're not utopia maybe on the
surface but scratch
just a little bit with just your fingernail and you'll find some dirt
underneath some fucking
darkness dude i would say it's even the opposite of utopic it's like nothing
but war it's war
first these are war warring first cultures are you kidding me the elves versus
the warriors versus
the fucking golems versus the warriors
and then you got the golems versus the vampires
dr nate brown phd the elves versus the warriors saga
so wait are you saying that buzz aldrin is not dead
he's alive man
but we were saying he's dead
you guys were man
i just didn't
yeah i think he's dead
that's a democratic hoax dude
buzz aldrin's dead for sure he's not alive
there's no way
he's 95 and he lives in new jersey
or no that's where he was born
let's get him on the pod man
wouldn't that be so epic if we had buzz aldrin at 95
on joy tactics
that would be fun
we need to get people on their deathbed
on like as guests
we did that
we can't the news
nate were you there when we interviewed
ed asner
wait uh
i barely remember this
we interviewed ed asner
and then he died like
quite soon after that
and he's what 91
i thought man
one of the last things you did on this earth
is
yeah
talked to me
everybody in you know in theory has a final interview that they're going to
give in their life
and i would like to make joy tactics that last stop for people
the final stop
yeah you've done fucking uh charlie
um
kaufman
what's his name
charlie
charlie charles kaufman
charlie
charlie rose
charlie rose
charlie rose
no i need more man
not after his crimes
i need to call you there
because he's not doing that show anymore
really charlie rose
yes
yeah he was taking
damn
taking down
all the way downtown
i'll tell you what that don't surprise me
but
i'm just saying
you go through the circuit
you do fucking fallon
you know
you do hot ones
and then when you're at
the
the last
when it's the
when it's the end
you know what i'm saying
you come on joy tactics
and you really
wheel on into the joy tactics
zoom studio
there's just one of us
in there
barely paying attention
we have a full medical staff
yeah
i mean we'll let you
hold it
got some morphine
for you
man
do you know who
had an interview
recently
i didn't watch it
but
my girlfriend said that
she saw an interview
with timothy chalamet
oh he said he will never do tv
say what
that's not what i was gonna say
never do tv
yeah he said
i will never do tv
check your privilege dude
he called
doing tv lazy bro
really
oh really man
interesting man
i actually am gonna agree
i agree
what
i agree
i agree
i think it's lazy
not just in a production sense
but in a
artistic moral
sense
and it makes
it kind of says
you have no fucking backbone
you know what it's like
you're afraid
you're afraid to commit to a story
you're afraid to take a risk
and you're afraid to
say
this is the end
you're afraid of death
you're a fucking coward
fuck television
hey man
chill man
oh
fuck television
no
dude
no man
tv
people love tv
so i put my hands off
to play my song
see what i'm saying
people
i just saw
hilarious tiktok
that said
this is how it feels
to watch a movie
instead of scrolling
on your phone
and it was like
a guy
you know
mining for coal
watching tv
it's like fucking hard
dude to pay attention
these days
i would say
it feels like
being in a straight jacket
sometimes
not if you're watching
ria sehorn
do her thing
and pluribus
because that's the opposite
of a straight jacket
that's like going
fucking hang gliding
with eagles
are you watching
pluribus jack
are you tapped in
i don't even have
heard of this
pluribus
you guys rhymed
on accident
yeah what's up
pluribus
pluribus
what the fuck is this show
you know what
quarters
how'd they mention
the quarters
no man
stop joking for once man
would you stop joking
while we're talking
it's so interesting
that everything i observe
seems like a joke
when i'm clearly
underneath every joke
is an insane truth
that everyone was
afraid to say
rickie jervais
comedian to some
truth teller
to others
but jack
you've heard of
breaking bad
right
or better call
soul
right
yeah i've seen
the whole entire
first three episodes
of that shit
well those are two
of the best sitcoms
of all time
and i would argue
that breaking bad
is the best
sitcom i've ever seen
i would argue
that pluribus
is the best
these are sitcoms
no man
they call them sitcoms
whatever
prestige television
whatever
a sitcom is a tv show
okay
it's just another word for it
that's what we're calling
the guy who's addicted to cancer
what
let me put it to you this way
imagine you are a woman
right
all right
let me get in here
played by ria sehorn
and you are a successful
fantasy author
right
tying it into the theme
of the podcast
spoiler
spoiler alert
everyone spoiler alert
you have a beautiful
girlfriend right
and at the beginning
of the episode
before
and you don't know
about this
but humankind
interpreted signals
took down signals
from outer space
alien signals
beep beep beep
and that translated
it into a code
but as it turns out
that
