The Recommitment | Ep. 149

it's good to see you guys wow what is that a shawl nate a cape
count dracula cold dude oh it's the new coat that you got oh no no no no it's a
robe
a robe goodfellow check target i've had i've had like three goodfellow robes in
my life
goodfellow is not a bad brand i'll just say that i'm just gonna you're rocking
with goodfellow
absolutely are you kidding yeah who wouldn't who really who wouldn't that's the
joy tactics uh
fatigue right there the joy tactics with the army fatigue goodfellow is a goodfellow
yep
goodfellow black robe yeah yeah i want to be on the red carpet what are you
wearing tonight
all goodfellow heads too yeah goodfellow goodfellow and a nose strip and a
crest white strip too
that's gonna come back your gums are like burning
jack when's the last time you whitened those things these things yeah clearly
everyday look
see how it matches the eye yeah right yeah what is your fucking strategy though
what are you doing
dry so what's my strat to meditation charcoal crest oh nate nate can i just say
stay away from the
charcoal stay far away what did huh no stay away man i know you would be
attracted to something like
charcoal charcoal charcoal and oil pulls but dentists agree don't do it stick
to the science
why is that because they want you to have fluoride fucking fluoride rather big
fucking fluoride yeah
should we realize fluoride
yeah a non-brand sponsorship
fluoride is in such a weird area of i feel like conspiracy where it's like
i don't even know what it does it's in the water but apparently it's bad but
then it's what is what's so
bad about it by the way i don't know i don't know fluoride i think there are
nano chips in it or
something like that oh well if there's nano chips then very fair to be
suspicious of that because i don't
want fucking nano chips in my water drinking water
how could there be a nano chip in one molecule i guess that's um
yeah it's extremely nano means extremely tiny yeah i'm surprised all day every
day all the time
constantly that's basically when's the last time you went like this
all the time couldn't believe it we're shocked yeah
yeah something like that just totally shocked
maybe watching a co-worker
last time i don't know watching your co-worker last time
yeah that'll do it that'll get that totally there was an image in my head that
i thought
was interesting but it didn't uh connect with them so i wouldn't worry about it
welcome to joy tactics the podcast dedicated to all things joyful joyous and
meeting as many
celebrities as humanly possible hosted by eric rahill nate veroni and jack bensinger
enjoy
back i've been playing battlefield 6 and there's been moments where it's so
bro it's cinema you know this new phrase it's cinema there's a there's a gen z
contestant on
survivor that's named riz rizzo the riz god and um he keeps saying it's cinema
that
that vote last night was cinema see what i'm saying i love that i love that it's
and while we're on the
subject netflix has just bought time warner uh warner brothers studios
interesting
quite interesting yeah there's much to be said on this but i won't say i didn't
suspect that as a
possibility when they when they went up for sale put it that way i've been
working with the folks at
comcast to try to get a fucking more attractive deal going i've also been
speaking with my
buds at paramount to try to get that ship skydance to get that shot off the
ground
we're gonna fight back and if there's any bankers listening please let me know
if i'm out of pocket
here yeah what's stopping me eric and jack from getting a crazy fucking loan
next level loan
like i'm talking about like could i just get a loan for a hundred billion
dollars jesus what why not
what's your credit score prove myself it's pretty it's good it's good it's
pretty i would say it's
pretty good actually yeah let me let me let me take that back it's pretty
fucking good it's like could be
better i so it's not 800 i think it's like 750 or something it's that's pretty
good zone yeah so it's like
okay like my whole life i've paid off my credit cards you know like um i'm a
country like what
why can't i have a hundred billion dollars right at one i mean these are fair
questions
because i'll buy it i'll buy you should go ask a bank teller this at like
just get it right up to chase bank hey man it's it's not i don't i'm not asking
for a hundred
billion dollars but i just want you to explain to me why can i not have that
why can i not have
everything that's in your safe right now give it to me now here's another
question i have so if i get the
hundred billion dollars and you know never mind i just kind of figured well you
don't give away your
secret because i just saw you you're the gears turning and you're like i'm
giving away my fucking
business plan and the secrets to my riches oh the business plans you you know
dude i'm i'm giving out
all of my fucking business plans i've given out plants the ip for plants the
animated uh oh dude you
you know what i was i was thinking about this i know i know you talked about it
on the episode but
we talked about it in the sauna as well the spin-off of that will be oh fuck
they already did bugs
and literally i was just thinking it could be they've done a whole fucking bugs
life but with
outdated technology and now we have bugs into it we can add bugs into it i
think bugs and plants would be
like you know what i'm saying plants is the last freaking one no one's the last
bastion of animation
there's there's this is it i'm telling you dude just somebody somebody write me
a check right now
now did you reach out to your agents about getting featured in that libubu
movie
as the evil libubu store owner i did not know this i would love to be in the
libubu
universe um
no but uh the netflix deal listen as an insider i would say we're all insiders
right
wouldn't you say yeah at this point yeah absolutely it's causing chaos behind
the scenes that's all we
can tell you that's all that i think we're allowed to say but yeah things is
fucking
the industry is freaking out everyone is freaking out right now in hollywood
what are the implications
of this so warner brothers they did looney tunes that's what i can remember so
bugs bunny and more
and even more than devil well i'm not aware of other things i just know the t-shirts
let me just so
let me just break it down for you jack all right what's what's people are
afraid of
warner brothers is responsible for 25 of the box office yearly okay yeah oh my
god
on the other hand is a at-home streaming service that's right oh my god all
right yes they do
sometimes sometimes they do but they give them very short windows they'll give
them like a two-week
uh theater release whereas warner brothers will give them the full you know shebang
dune is in theaters
for uh whatever two months three months or something like that so that's what
we're at risk of losing
right now is the theatrical experience yeah oh my god
can i just talk to um netflix really quick and say this if you destroy the
theater going experience
for people like me name jack just know you are leaving at least uh probably
over a billion dollars on the table
and times that by many uh because people still like going to the movies okay
and if you make it all at
home and ruin uh the industry even more than what it is has already been ruined
then
yeah let me put it to you this way the this is what i'm saying let's break it
down and let's
put it in common denominators right so you remember food right you can go ahead
and have netflix be
ordering food right that's what ordering food is i'd like to have it at home
now quick and it's gonna
suck but you can never say that human beings will not enjoy going out to eat
that dude didn't i just
say that call ted sarandos call ted sarandos now what if i said what if i said
i saw his ass in person last night
not where you think i did what not where you think i did
where russian bath house are you serious
3 a.m russian are you serious no no yeah that would be sick that would make me
give it even
also respect ted we do rock with a lot of the stuff you're making the house of
cards if you ever wanted
to stranger things we would gladly sell out and just kind of
be on the netflix team any second so matt rife's netflix special
was it a netflix watch that oh yeah burt kreischer's netflix holiday
theo vons put out a a uh a crowd work holiday special oh my god
he's just that sounds like awesome what uh they gotta start doing crossovers
where there's a
fucking matt rife crowd work and fucking dave chapelle uh huh dude the crowd
work side a
crowd work battle crowd work battle two on two and it's inside one of the
fucking hill house
or one yeah two on two but it's in the middle of a haunting of hill house bly
manor episode
so what we're doing is we are generating content in ways that you can't imagine
so why don't we say
let me elaborate on this why don't we say yeah you know what let's just imagine
uh as lex fridman
would imagine that we you know get rid of the movie theater can we just for a
second imagine that maybe
it's a good thing right i know it's hard to go there yeah yeah but maybe it's
like listen if uh
why do people have to go to these places anymore to drive i just i know they
thought it i know you're
doing a thought experiment but go ahead real quick i just think i just think it's
interesting that we've
never seen eric and lex friedman in the same room together it's because we're
beefing i allegedly i
saw them in the same room together one time doing deadlift prs but they were
one of them had a mask on so
those are the same person well that's my theory yeah i do um all i can say is
that i respect him
that's all i can tell you where is his ass i feel like i haven't even heard it
from him he they had
to put him in a bunker to protect him i think from people that want the thought
killers killers of free
thought wow that's so horrifying but um it's good to be back hey we just want
to say like
you know we've been doing a lot of duo episodes um life has been crazy right
for each and every one of
us and there's a lot that we do say on this podcast but there's a lot that we
don't and the minute that
you start blaming us for not being all three in person is the minute that you
forget our humanity
most things that we that are said in the world we are not saying don't you
realize
we say very very little is what i'm trying to communicate i've had this is
maybe the least sleep
i've had um in a while yeah i can't tell either i can't tell their brainwaves
that's right that's where i want you jack that's what we all want you
you guys just come to me when you need a thought and i'll give it to you
what's the top tier brainwave uh alpha omega i'm making that up i'm making that
up i don't
know you went right for alpha but guys this is the recommitment where we're
saying hey guys yeah we
we were fucking around for the last couple weeks we are recommitting all
everything back into this
podcast a thousand percent we're going all in all right it's well we've been
you know what i'll say
is like yo we've been having fun but we've been pussyfooting around for about
three years here
this is just the fucking beta version of the podcast everyone should realize
that right
by 2029 we will have a at that point all of the lots you know the studio lots
