Ice Breakers | Ep. 150

What gave me joy this week is this snow outside the window.
Oh, whoa.
Look at the picture.
Oh, my God.
Beautiful.
Look at that.
Oh, my fucking God.
Musical part two episode.
Guys, dude, did I just break the fucking world record for fastest joy?
I think you did.
Let's just say yes.
Let's say yes.
And then beat ourselves.
By the way, I don't know if we can.
I feel like we can take it easy this episode because the Thursday Patreon one
was as days went by.
I was like, it was that might have been that might have changed podcasting in a
way.
Yeah, I'm saying.
Yeah, it might have changed physics.
Like people might be floating in type of shit now.
Well, in a sense, it did change physics because no one's ever uttered words.
In those exact sequences before and then at the those pitches before, which
means that no one's ever manipulated molecules in that same exact way as us.
Right, right, right, right, right.
Every moment is a change in physics.
Yeah.
So we can just do.
Anyone ever done that?
Anyone ever done that before?
Nope.
All right.
I'll try one.
Yeah, somebody's definitely done that.
Someone's done that.
Has anyone ever done that?
Yeah.
There's like 13,000 people doing that right now.
No, that's not.
Has anyone ever done that non-medically?
Oh, good point.
Good point.
All right.
Shaking is so good for you.
Jesus Christ.
Dude.
Welcome to Joy Tactics.
The podcast dedicated to all things joyful, joyous, and meeting as many
celebrities as humanly possible.
Hosted by Eric Rahill, Nate Veroni, and Jack Bensinger.
Enjoy.
What are we talking about?
We're getting to.
This is the icebreaker.
Oh, yeah.
Getting to know us finally.
Getting to know us.
So do you guys have icebreaker questions?
Oh, should we put out icebreaker questions onto the Instagram now and read them
as they come in?
Oh, definitely.
And then also say if you want any advice, we'll give it to you.
So ask us questions.
Stavi's world.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Well, then.
A la Stavi's world.
You got it?
Are you going to post this?
I don't have my phone.
Great.
Awesome.
Cool, man.
No, I'll do it.
No, I'll just do it.
Yeah, that's fine.
Jesus fucking Christ.
Oh, God.
We should have a segment.
Laughing.
Should we have a segment every episode called Stavi's world?
Yeah, just to say.
Yeah, I think we should.
We are recording.
Icebreaker questions for work.
This is from our subreddit called Working Moms.
This is the Working Moms question.
I'm leading a meeting next week for my peer group of about 10 people.
We have a corporate job, but our group is friendly and casual.
I hate icebreakers because I can never think of anything interesting about
myself to share.
I'm looking for a casual, funny icebreaker.
I said this?
Pick up the meeting.
Bro, I just found the.
We're recording.
Give us icebreaker questions.
Well, I just found the ultimate icebreaker question.
This is the top uploaded question on the subreddit.
It says, favorite breakfast?
Oh.
So now we're getting into it, bro.
Right away.
I'm thinking.
Hey, nice to meet you.
What's your favorite breakfast?
Whoa.
Yeah.
No.
Yeah.
No.
I've never had that.
Breakfast first.
Wow.
Okay.
This is going to.
This is crazy.
I really want to take my time with this.
McDonald's sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast burrito.
Burrito?
Burrito.
I didn't know about these.
You didn't tell me about these yet.
You never had a breakfast burrito from a wrap?
McDonald's?
From McDonald's?
No, because I have one order there.
One order only.
Sausage egg McMuffin with cheese.
And all the fixings.
All the fixings.
Black coffee.
And a tall one.
Two orange juices.
Damn, McDonald's breakfast.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
I like that.
I like when I'm here.
I just tried the McGriddle for the first time not so long ago.
Sweet and savory.
I'm not sold on that yet.
I didn't quite like it.
What kind of twisted genius came up with that shit, dude?
Sweet and savory at the same time?
It might have been Einstein.
That's not right.
That's his side, little side work.
Might have been.
It might have been Einstein.
It might have been.
No, no, no.
No more stalling, bro.
No more stalling and no more conversation.
No more free, easy conversation.
Say your favorite breakfast and then I can get to know you better.
I have it so simply down.
Eggle, waffle, frozen.
Put it in the toaster.
Toast that shit.
Take it out.
Put fucking syrup on it.
Man, I want you to do this.
Put one scoop of statewide style vanilla bean ice cream in the freezer on top
of that shit.
Ice cream for breakfast?
Shut up.
Then, I want you to put it in your bacon in your pan.
Take it out.
Put it next to it.
Then, get some warm drink.
You're creating a recipe for a heart attack, by the way.
Just like you should know.
Why not?
What's the warm drink?
Jesus.
Let it be whatever you want.
Tea, hot cocoa, coffee.
Carnation instant breakfast mix.
Did you guys ever have that?
Carnation?
Carnation instant breakfast mix.
What's that?
Is that meat based?
Like carnivorous?
Chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavors.
That shit's for babies, dude.
Neapolitan babies?
No, it's for people.
It's for working students on the go who have to go study remedial algebra.
Don't make fun of remedial people.
I'm not.
I was in it math-wise, but everything else was so brilliant that they didn't
know what to do with me.
Oh, the truth.
Look at how quickly the icebreaker is working.
Okay, I have to say my favorite breakfast, not that you guys asked, is I'm
going full English with it.
I'm just saying if I had to pick one, some of those English breakfasts that we
had over there blew me mind.
Wide open.
I feel like they're cheating because they're just, they just add more food on
to, like somebody's like, oh, I like eggs and bacon.
Will them be like soft tomatoes?
Exactly.
Do you like a black pellet?
Let me add like 40 other things and then put it on the plate.
It's like a buffet, dude.
I'll never forget that morning where Jack was too lazy and sick to join us when
we first arrived in Edinburgh, right?
Scotland.
And we walked around, didn't we?
And we saw the sides and we went up to that tall hill and we looked over the
city.
And then we walked down and got amazing breakfast at about 6 a.m.
Yep.
Got some haggis and black sausage.
That shit was, that shit was a busing.
Yeah, it was good.
That was a busing morning that felt, felt like how you're supposed to live life,
right?
It did, man.
I miss, dude, January's coming.
We're about to hit the one year anniversary of London, UK trip.
I can't bloody believe it.
Isn't that crazy?
I can't bloody believe it.
Where does time go?
In the past.
I don't, I don't know, rightly now.
Should I post this, icebreaker questions?
Yeah.
Should I ask for advice too?
Do you want advice?
Yeah, I do.
Yeah.
This is all over the place.
They need advice, if they need advice.
Yeah, then maybe trivia.
If you need advice.
If you need advice, let us know your problem.
Advice.
And give us your address, full name, age, occupation, salary.
Parents name, picture of them.
Blood type, cholesterol levels.
Oh, I've just gotten curious because, about my cholesterol levels that I was
talking about.
Because guess what?
I wasn't fasted.
I didn't, I didn't fast before getting my blood drawn.
So, what you're saying is it was influenced.
I can totally skew the numbers up.
So, you're actually completely healthy.
I might just be actually completely healthy and it was just a food error from
bread and cheese.
It checks out, man.
Didn't they ask you, have you fasted?
Are you fasted?
No, they weren't too curious, man.
They're just peddling people through their system to try to make money off of
us, health insurance-wise.
That is medical malpractice.
Yeah, tell me about it.
A minor.
A minor.
What do we think about, what do we think the chances really are of China in May?
If you were to give me a percent chance that we could actually do this.
I would say that it's about.
Realistically.
Well, how many flights go out there a day?
If there's 42 flights a day to China from JFK, Lele X.
So, if I carry the two.
Okay.
Percentage-wise.
I would say.
If we're going there for an improv festival, it's 100% chance.
Wait, we know people who did that.
We know people who went there.
Yeah, Barack Obama.
For improv.
If Barack and Michelle Obama were hosting a fucking improv festival.
Oh, my God.
They did a two-prov set.
Fucking.
Dang.
That would be crazy.
That would be crazy.
Oh, my God.
At a diner in.
Diner prof.
China.
In China.
In May.
I'm just saying, please, man.
Please.
Can I please see the world?
Because China's so big, Eric.
Like, what's your top cities?
What's your top destination?
I want to go to Beijing.
Beijing's actually the bottom of the list, bro.
What's that?
They're going to think we're the workaholics, guys.
People are going to be walking up to us with workaholics posters.
I've gotten that a few times in LA, especially.
Walking down Sunset.
And they go, oh, my God.
Blake.
Adam Devine.
Bald Adam Devine.
Yeah.
Damn.
I know we finished the musicals episode, but I do want to hear you in a musical
that is about a struggling actor trying to make it in 2014, trying to get on a
UCB team.
A struggling actor.
Yeah.
Okay.
Trying to get on a UCB team.
And your hero, you have like a.
Okay.
No, no.
He's cooking.
He's cooking.
All right.
Go ahead.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Sorry.
I've just completed 401.
Improv 401.
But that was six months ago.
And I'm auditioning for a Herald team.
If I can just get on the team.
If I can just get on the team, then I can be seen in Hollywood.
Excuse me.
Excuse me.
My name is Paul F.
Tompkins coming through.
Get out of my way.
Let me through.
Who are you?
And what do you bring?
Toyota Tacoma smashes through Eric's house in real life right now.
That's how I want to.
That's how I would like to see you go, Eric.
A Toyota Tacoma taking me out?
I'll zoom.
If you saw me mangled in a, oh, I've been seeing the worst videos online, by
the way.
And I thought I'm going to get into what I've been seeing.
But let's just say I could use some Iblees recently.
Put it that way.
Should we have a Q&A?
Can I just say real quick, that was not my best work with the musical stuff.
It was great.
It was good.
The melody was all right, but it just like I wasn't feeling it, you know.
But we'll come back.
We've got to do, oh, we've got some questions coming in.
Let's see here.
Okay.
How do you let everyone at The Hangout know that you're ticklish in a nonchalant
way?
Watch this.
Hey, can I get everyone's attention real quick?
I'm new to this group.
I'm liking you guys.
I'm liking your vibe.
Just so you know, one weird thing about me is I do get a little bit ticklish.
Okay.
I don't think you heard the nonchalant part of it, but.
Or go whispering to people's ears.
Hey, just say no, I'm ticklish.
Don't tell anybody.
That's nice to meet you.
I'm so fucking ticklish.
I'm so ticklish.
Don't play with me like that.
Stop playing with me.
I'm ticklish.
Jack, you have a humorous reply to this question.
Dude, this is kind of what the podcast is about.
It's nonchalant.
That means like, I don't even care.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't give a fuck, but I'm ticklish, so whatever.
You're not whispering in people's ear.
You're just whispering it, hoping that somebody hears it nearby.
Yeah.
I guess whispering, whispering almost makes it seem like you do care.
Like, so maybe it's just like.
But also, I'm an engineer.
I'm a, I'm a.
Okay, here's another question.
I'm ticklish.
I'm a dance major and whatever.
Abducted.
Abducted by a green alien.
And having trouble showing them how we get down crazy style on earth.
Get the ox now.
Put on gasolina.
I think that meant sexually, Jack.
Oh, trust me.
It's getting sexual if Daddy Yankee comes on.
Exactly.
Oh, yeah.
I could fucking get down to that shit.
Gasolina.
Here's what, here's what you do.
You say, hey, you got any low lighting in here?
Can we turn the overheads off?
Get that shit off, alien.
Sure, we didn't know about low incandescent lighting.
Get the lamps on here.
Forget this shit.
Boom.
You guys got a speaker?
Yeah, boom.
