Are you garbage?
Well, when I was younger, I was like, I was a radio personality.
Where?
I'm sorry?
Please say AM radio, for the love of God.
No, that would be, I grew up, my dad listened to Tom Likas growing up,
so that was like a big influence in my life, you know, like the shock jock AM
radio.
Okay.
But I like randomly called into 102.7 Kiss FM, Ryan Seacrest is the radio DJ on
that.
What year are we talking?
This was 2003 to about 2006.
So I called in, I'm in third grade.
So you called in in 2003, in what grade?
Third grade.
Third grade?
Third grade?
Yeah, I was like seven years old.
Who's watching you?
No one.
Calling into the local radio station for a set of sticks tickets.
Dad, put down the binoculars for a minute, will you?
What the fuck?
Holy shit.
And I ended up just getting a job making prank phone calls.
As a third grader?
As a third grader.
That's bananas.
What the fuck?
Is that legal?
It wasn't at first.
It was illegal.
It was child labor.
And then they realized they had to pay me.
So then I started getting paid, but that's why I went to college.
My parents-
Was it good money?
It was good money.
I mean, anything is good money when you're in third grade.
I'm the one who makes the prank phone calls around here.
Hold on.
Were you actually getting the money?
No, it was being put into an account that I couldn't touch until I was like 16.
Okay.
Was it all there when you turned 16?
No, my dad did use it for patio furniture.
Yeah.
He really needed-
For patio furniture.
He needed a good lounge to smoke his cigars and seduce women.
But they put half of it-
That's one of the most insane statements I've heard in 200 episodes of the show.
Patio furniture.
Give me a ballpark number of what was in that account.
It was a good amount.
I mean, I have none of it left.
I might have like $2,000 left.
20 grand, 30 grand, 40 grand, 50 grand?
No, I think I had like 100,000.
What?
No!
I was working every single week for three years on the radio.
What?
Were you going to school?
Yeah.
Because I would pre-record them.
I would leave school early on like a Tuesday or Wednesday.
I would pre-record four episodes.
Did kids know that you were doing this?
Oh, yeah.
Did your teachers know?
Oh, yeah.
Did you get any of the money then?
No.
Any cool presents or anything?
Like, hey, you can get the new bike or the whatever.
No, no cool presents, but I would get to go to like all the events with Kiss FM.
So that was cool.
I got to go to like the concerts.
I got to introduce like Gwen Stefani on stage at one of the, you know, concerts
that they had.
As a third grader?
Yeah, it was cool.
I think I would have heard about this.
I know.
That should be national news.
I know.
Yeah.
A hundred jihads.
Yeah, but then they let me touch it when I was 16.
So I'm like going to Coachella.
I'm buying all these ugly outfits.
I buy a used car.
I was, you know, modest about it, but I bought like a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee
as soon as I turned 16.
That's all right.
Shit.
Yeah, I mean, all my money, or no, no, no, I wasn't 2016, but yeah.
What's the ticket to Coachella run?
It's about, I mean, but then it was like, what?
I don't know, maybe 400 bucks.
Okay.
But then I'm just buying a bunch of shit I don't need.
Of course.
You went through a hundred grand.
You're 16 with a hundred jihads.
That's all right.
Well, so half of the money was in a college account.
So I maybe had like 50 grand actually to myself.
To play with, as they say.
Yeah.
Everything else is in a college account.
House money.
But it's like, mom, dad, if your child is calling into a radio station in third
grade,
she's not going to college.
Not yet.
What are we doing?
No shit.
Yeah.
So I wasn't allowed to like spend that.
If I did spend that for my own personal stuff, I was like taxed on it.
Okay.
I gotcha.
Yeah.
So if I pull that money out, I'm still going to be taxed on it.
That's all I have left.
Jesus.
And then why did you stop doing that?
I'm doing what?
The radio?
Yeah.
So my name on the radio station was Lil Alley, and I think I just grew out of
it.
I wasn't too little anymore.
Welcome back.
It's Lil Alley.
I'm being taxed.
My voice dropped.
Adolescent Alley doesn't have the same range.
As soon as I got my period, yeah, it was over.
Hey, threw me out of the talkies.
That is wild, man.
What the fuck?
Yeah, dude.
No shit.
Did you meet Seacrest?
Yeah, a few times.
He wasn't in the studio when I went in.
But, yeah, I mean, I definitely had a good, like...
If you said to Seacrest today, hey, I'm Lil Annie, would he go, holy shit?
He would remember.
Yeah, I mean, yeah.
Yeah, he would remember.
That was a significant part of it.
Did you say Lil Annie?
Yeah, he did.
Oh, Lil Alley.
Lil Alley, I'm sorry.
That's Lil Orphan Annie.
This guy's drinking too much Ovaltine over here.
I got too much.
Yeah, I got orphans on the brain.
Wait, what do you mean?
Of course he would know you.
Yeah, I mean, it was very popular when it was on, like, locally.
It was very popular, like, because we started making prank phone calls, and we
would make
the prank phone calls in California, and then we had to start doing them
outside of California
because so many people would be like, is this that little girl from the radio?
He wouldn't recognize me, but for sure, if I mentioned that.
Yeah, he would know the character.
Yeah.
Holy shit.
I know.
It's fucking vodkas.
So, you only made it through a semester of college.
Only made it through a semester.
you
