You know what we're doing tonight? How did you like having Larry as a...
I thought that worked out very well.
Larry was our co-host last night.
Larry Bud Mellon, co-hosting.
Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, in addition to all this wonderful entertainment
we've planned for you,
I failed to announce that it's time for another segment of our show called Who
Asked For It?
That's right. People in the studio audience get to stand up and ask me for
things they would like to see on this program.
And oh my gosh, look, we already have our first participant.
How do you do, ma'am? What is your name?
I'm Helene.
I'm Helene?
Helene.
Helene. And where are you from, Helene?
Smithtown, Long Island.
And what do you do for a living, Helene?
I'm a housewife.
All right. And what can we do for you tonight, ma'am?
I'd like to see you cook something up of your own recipe.
I've seen other talk show hosts cook up things, and I've never seen you do
anything like that.
Well, okay, Helene, that's a very nice question, and I'm glad it came up
because I do kind of have a little recipe I'd like to share with you.
It's called dog jacks is what we call it.
That's right.
That's right. When your dog breaks down, first...
I get it. I get it.
First, you get yourself a blender.
That's, of course, why I put on these oven mitts.
I think we all know how red hot these babies can get.
You know, you're mixing up daiquiris or something.
Ooh, boy.
And now, okay, here's the main ingredient in these dog jacks.
These are just normal weenies, and we take them and take two of them.
You folks have seen busted weenies before.
Let me turn this on.
Okay, so you get a... I guess that's pureed or liquefied or something.
Now, here comes the secret.
You get yourself a waffle iron.
All right.
There.
And you just pour it right in.
Do we have a...
Oh, sure.
These are dog jacks.
And they're mighty tasty.
Now, come on.
Stop it.
All right.
Just even it up there.
Oh, it's beginning to sizzle.
Let me...
Okay, like that.
Now, this takes about seven minutes,
so we're going to load one up and let it cook as we progress.
And then, when you're done, you just serve it with some mustard.
So, I'll just leave it right here,
and we can check on it from time to time.
But, again, be careful of these blenders.
All right.
Thank you very much, ma'am.
Who is the next person foolish to stand up
and ask one of these questions?
My name is Donald Miller.
I'm sorry.
I didn't hear the first name.
My name is Don Miller.
Don, how are you tonight?
I'm all right.
What can I do for you,
besides get you a taller microphone?
I haven't yet to see the latest Indiana Jones movie.
And I was wondering...
I love Danger a lot.
I was hoping that you could show me a dangerous action sequence.
Go for it.
Well, I just picked up the blender.
What more do you want?
Well, you know, Indiana Jones,
they have a budget of like $60 million
in special effects and so forth,
and we really don't operate that way.
But thinking about it,
there is something I could do that's pretty dangerous.
I believe the hallway floor was just mopped,
so maybe there is a little something I can try.
I hope you like this.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, my God.
All right.
All right.
All right.
That's enough of that.
I wonder if people at home can tell we need a vacation.
Let's check on these dog jacks, shall we?
Whoa.
Oh, my God.
That's unbelievable.
I guess I should take it out of there, shouldn't I?
It doesn't look done yet, Dave.
No, it's...
Well, what do you mean done?
That looks done to me.
All right.
We'll let her go a few more days.
Yes, ma'am.
What can I do for you, please?
Hi, David.
It's awfully hot here in the studio.
Would it be all right if I just took off my blouse?
Sure.
It's all right with me, Paul.
Is that all right with you?
I have no problem with that over here.
Yeah, fine.
Absolutely no problem.
Go right ahead and take off your blouse.
Thanks.
Yeah, thank you.
Good heavens.
Thank you.
Yes, ma'am.
What can I do for you, please?
Well, David, it's...
You know, it's awfully hot in the studio.
All the lights in the...
Ma'am?
Ma'am, we are doing everything we can
to get the air conditioning repaired.
Please, if you just have a seat,
I'm sure something can be done before long.
Thank you for your patience.
Awful.
That was awful.
Yes, sir, what can I do for you?
This may sound kind of strange,
but I'm a pretty big fan of yours,
and I've always wondered what it's like to be like you.
Could I come down to your desk and sit down?
Well, sir, you know, obviously, for security purposes,
we can't let you come right down here to the desk,
but if you really want to see what it's like to be me,
I think we can arrange that for just a second.
If you'll just look at the monitor, sir,
I think there's something we can do for you.
Okay, just if you're continuing to look at the monitor.
There you go.
Thank you, David.
Okay.
Is that it?
Are we finished?
Take a look at the what?
The waffles.
You mean the dog jacks, don't you?
Man incorrectly identified this dish as waffles.
All right, let me try and pry one of these out of here.
Oh, this is not bad.
Buster!
We'll get a...
Now, how do I go in here?
Wait a minute, I got an idea.
Let's dump this.
Let's unplug it.
All right.
There you go.
There.
Just pass that around, Bill.
There you are.
Those are the dog jacks.
We got a great show for you tonight, don't we?
Oh, yes, we do.
Gene Rath, the purple lady, will be out here.
Laurie Singer and Richard Lewis.
So, come on back, folks.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
