You know, you mentioned Sid, and then, what was it, three weeks ago, Sid, you
had a baby girl, about three weeks ago, and on the same, actually the day
before, our own Gerard Mulligan, who has been with us for a long, long time,
same day, had a baby boy, and it's been pretty exciting around here, because
today, Gerard brought the young kid in, his name is Kevin, and I guess he's
what, a month and two days, a month and two days, and are they out in the, can
we just get a shot of Gerard and his kid, Kevin, I think you'd get a kick out
of seeing him, we've just fallen in love with the little guy,
Now, where is Gerard, he must be, oh, there he is, just have him turn around,
and the kid's about a, there he is, oh, he's, oh, he's, oh, okay, thank you, I'm
38, that's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
God, isn't that horrible?
Yeah, that's bad.
Oh, no.
Oh, God.
Okay.
And speaking of parents, our own Gerard Mulligan, who was a, one of our writers,
and a new father, I don't know, a few months ago, and we've actually had his
son, Kevin, on the program once before, and since it's a holiday, I understand
they're here tonight out in the hall, and I think it'd be cute to get another
look at Kevin if we could.
Can we send it, oh, there they are, Gerard, can you hear me?
Oh, yeah, I can, Dave.
How old is Kevin?
About five and a half months nowadays.
Oh, that's great, and do they talk when they're that age, or what?
He says one word, he says Dada.
Oh, let me, I can't hardly see him, turn around, Gerard, let's see him.
Here's the boy, here's the boy.
Say, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, thank God.
He likes to throw his hat.
Oh, oh.
Say, say, say, say Dada.
Say, say Dada.
No.
Say Dada, please.
No.
Say Dada.
We want everybody to hear you talk now.
Say Dada.
I'm sorry, Dave.
I don't know where we learned it.
I'm just sorry.
Oh, my God.
Kids?
That's the ugliest thing I've ever seen.
I understand Gerard's wife has left him.
Kids say the darndest things.
Yeah, they sure do, don't they?
You know, two or three times on the show, we've had Gerard Mulligan's little
boy, Kevin, with us.
He was here, I think, a couple of months after he was born, and he was here
with us a couple of months ago when he first started to talk.
And I understand he's out in the hall with his dad.
Kevin and Jerry are both out there.
Can we see a shot of, there they are.
Gerard, how's it going?
How is Kevin?
Oh, he's fine, Dave.
It looks like he's really coming along.
He's really growing, but, you know, he's a little clanky right now.
It's about feeding time, and I'm afraid he's a little hungry.
Yeah, and what are you feeding him now?
Well, actually, we've just started feeding him solid food.
What does he eat?
He eats ribs.
He loves ribs.
He loves ribs.
Look at that.
Do you think that's, is that you're feeding him ribs?
There you go.
He loves ribs.
Yeah, okay.
Mmm.
Hard to get mad at the little guy.
Okay, great.
Well, thanks for dropping by with the child, Jerry.
You know, one of our staff members, this man has been with us for years and
years, a really
nice guy and a really good friend of us, and he had a baby about, oh, I don't
know, six,
seven months ago, and from time to time, he brings the little kid with him to
work, and
we're all sort of getting to enjoy watching him grow up here on the show.
How many times has Jerry's baby been on, Paul?
This has got to be the third, fourth time.
Third or fourth time, and he's, I think we just saw Jerry out there.
Jerry, can you hear me?
His son's name is Kevin. Hi. Hi, Dave. How are you? Good. Is Kevin out there?
What's going on? Oh, he sure is. I'm giving him a bath right now. Giving him a
bath? Listen, Jerry, I know it's kind of one of those very private moments
between a father and his young son. How old is Kevin now? He's just over 10
months. 10 months old. Do you mind if we take a look at him? Oh, not at all.
Okay. There's little Kevin. Yeah. He's very proud. Oh, my. Well.
Okay. He's... Okay. That's...
We're going to shut this mess down. Apparently, he's on solid food now, looks
like, Kevin.
You know, in the last year, our staff member, Gerard Mulligan, one of our
writers, has brought his little boy, Kevin, into the office, and we've kind of
watched him grow up, and it's been a lot of fun.
I understand they're out in the hallway. Let's take a look now at Gerard and
young Kevin. Oh, Gerard!
Hi, Dave. How are you doing? Do you have Kevin with you there?
Yeah, I sure do. How's he doing?
Actually, he's about to walk, I think, David.
Has he ever walked before? No, these will be his very first steps.
Oh, this will be exciting. Do you mind if we watch, Jerry?
Oh, not a bit. Okay, this will be good. Come on.
Kevin. Oh, oh.
Oh, God. Come on.
Come on. Oh, my God.
Look at Daddy. Come on.
Oh. Hey.
That's... Ooh.
That's... That's difficult to watch.
Oh.
Where... Jerry, where are you going?
Kevin. I don't know. Kevin.
Kevin, come back here.
You better go after the boy, Jerry.
Well, I'm going to, Kevin. Don't go. Stop right there.
Don't go any further.
Oh, my God. He's down by the elevators now.
Look. He's going to the...
Oh, he's going... Don't go in the elevator, Kevin.
Oh.
Don't go in the elevator. I'm telling you.
That... Oh.
Oh, my God, Jerry. He's in the elevator.
Well, I can't be safe. I'm not worried.
Boy, that is ugly, isn't it?
That is one of the ugliest.
Oh.
Oh, okay.
Oh, my God.
Get out of the way.
Yes.
This is one of the most unpleasant things I've ever seen.
This is...
Okay.
Give me the ring. Give me the ring.
Oh, there he goes.
Okay.
Okay.
Oh, fine.
You know, ladies and gentlemen, what you've just seen is the final episode
and a little running gag we've been doing on the show called
Jerry and Baby.
Starring our own Gerard Mulligan and our own Chris Elliott.
Let's give them a hand. Bring them on. Guys, come on.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you, Roy.
Thank you.
You're all right.
Very nice to see you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Chris, very nice.
Nice to see you.
Chris Elliott.
Gerard Mulligan.
Ah.
Well, congratulations. How many times have we seen Jerry's baby on the show?
We've had five episodes.
Yeah.
And, Chris, you really do the bulk of the acting in this little piece, don't
you?
Yeah. Yeah, I do. It's kind of a stretch for me. You know, I don't like to
appear without my shirt on.
I know.
But I want to say something while I have the chance. This man right here, Jerry
Mulligan,
is not an actor and he's not a professional by any definition of a word. But he
really was a sheer joy to work with and well worth the extra rehearsal time as
well.
And now, in honor of the final episode of Jerry and Baby, we've put together a
brief retrospective, kind of a composite montage.
Very nice.
A look back at the various visits from Jerry and Baby. So, take a look at the
monitors. Our way of saying thanks for a job well done. Watch folks at home on
the TVs. There you go. Jerry and Baby.
Oh, and I believe we have flowers.
Ladies and gentlemen, Gerard Mulligan and Chris Elliott. Nice job, Jerry. Chris,
thank you very much. Thank you, sweetheart. We'll be back with the fabulous
Thunderbirds, folks. Very nice.
