This next one is a new service for Keith Jackson groupies.
This is the Dial and Impression of Sportscaster Keith Jackson line.
Hello again, everybody. This is Keith Jackson, AMC Sports,
and everybody wants to know what's going to happen this Saturday.
Well, I don't tell you because college football is not going on right now, but
I'm clear.
And I give it Saturday, almost anything gets happening, and almost everything
usually does.
The University of Texas Tech, the Red Raiders, Rodney Allison, a sophomore,
like a Rodney Allison or a Herschel Walker.
He rolls around to the right side, he's hit the bumper!
Now, besides being a sportscaster, you do your own version of other popular
sportscasters, don't you?
I think what's happening, David, is that sports announcers in this country are
getting to be bigger than the event themselves.
Right.
So it's a tremendous intensity with the sportscaster.
Now, you take folks, I'm sure you know Keith Jackson.
Keith Jackson.
Keith Jackson's a tad intense, I would say.
Keith does college football for ABC and also USFL football.
Of course, in fact, any football, anywhere, in any country, anywhere.
A bit intense.
It sounds something like this.
This would be Keith Jackson.
It starts kind of subdued, right?
Well, hello again, everybody.
This is Keith Jackson.
Well, you talk about a given Saturday, the Texas Tech Raiders and Alabama Crimson
Tide.
Pretty nice so far, right?
Then he starts the building.
But I'll tell you, on a given Saturday, the Herschel Walker Bulldogs had a roll
around a right side, hit and crack, and from...
Okay.
Well, boy.
He is, he's, uh, I think they use his voice for an air raid siren.
That's Keith.
Well, boy.
Now, we have some videotape here.
Now, Roy, you brought some videotape along here for us to look at.
Now, is this the kind of thing we'd see on your cable show sports look?
Well, no, not really.
This is, everyone knows this is the big year for college football, and pro
football started last week.
But ABC only really televises games Monday nights and Thursday nights.
They don't have, really, the weekend Sunday nights, although they have college
football.
They're running out of events, really, is what's happening.
This is a promo for the events that didn't really quite make prime time.
Yeah.
You know Keith Jackson, folks, right?
Another fine sportscaster.
Another fine sportscaster.
As we roll the videotape right here, folks, we'd like to give you an idea of
what it might be like on kind of an off week on an ABC Sports.
Can we roll that tape?
Sure.
And show the folks right here.
Watch the monitors in the studio.
And here it comes.
This is a promo you might see.
Hello again, everybody.
This is Keith Jackson.
What an action-packed weekend of sports we'll have for you in Wide World of
Sports.
First of all, we come to you live from Scatman Brothers Stadium
in beautiful King of Pressure, Pennsylvania, Division II College Football.
It'll be the running proctologist from John Hopkins University
taking on the always tough Vincent Van Gogh Community College Fighting Post-Impressionist.
They'll be out here.
What a bar murder that'll be.
Then we'll take you up close and extremely personal.
A look at the world of steroids.
We'll have the compelling story of how singer Helen Reddy took muscle hormones
for six weeks
and gradually turned herself into John Matuszak, defensive lineman for the Los
Angeles Raiders.
Then it'll be our pleasure to take you live to the Hill, Bentford Leather
District on Christopher Street.
Beautiful Greenwich Village is the location for the fifth annual Richard
Simmons Celebrity Firecracker 500 Drag Race.
That's right.
Some of America's top celebrity dragsters will be here, including one of my
favorite dragsters,
Mr. Boyd George of the Culture Club, fresh off a win in the Oscar Wilde 250.
A while later, the great veteran dragster, Mr. Little Richard, will be driving
his fuchsia funny car.
And, of course, the Hall of Fame dragster, Mr. Vine, will be out here wearing
her fire retardant leather hot pants outfit.
You won't want to miss that.
Chrissy, Connor Mackey, and I will be out here and joined in two.
They're really, really cruising around the track of this race,
and I guarantee you there's more going on the pits here than you even want to
know about.
All of that and more here on Wide World of Sports,
this is Keith Jackson thanking you and saying,
Fumbo!
Keith Jackson.
Do a little Keith for us, doing the Georgia, the Georgia.
Well, I'll tell you, you're talking about somebody like the kind of Keith
Jackson.
Well, I'll tell you, he starts kind of low, and he gets that kind of rural
thing in there.
Then all of a sudden, when something big happens, he rolls around the right
side,
and Hershey Walker's hit, and Fumbo!
Oh, no, I'll tell you.
Really, a little, he's a good friend, and he's a good sport about that, too.
Yeah, well, you do a great job with Keith.
No, thank you.
Dear Dave, did you know that on United Flight No. 3 from Denver, Colorado, to
Honolulu, Hawaii,
they have Tom Jones singing on the headset for one entire hour?
From Christopher Lind and Tom Azimos, University of Hawaii.
No, Chris and Tom, I didn't realize that.
However, I did know that on Delta Flight No. 211 from Atlanta to Chicago,
they have sportscaster Keith Jackson boxing a kangaroo.
You're devastating.
All right, all right.
With, quickly, a little Keith Jackson.
He wants to get to Keith Jackson, because it's his favorite.
Hello again, everybody.
This is Keith Chuckson.
We're coming to you live from King of Crusoe, Pennsylvania.
Division II college football.
The proctologist from Johns Hopkins University taking on the always tough
fighting post-impressionist
from Vincent Van Gogh Community College.
And I'll tell you, it's going to be a real barn butter down there.
You're all around the right side.
He's got some running room.
So, 35, the third of the 25, he's hit and cracked and fumble!
Hover!
Good to see you, Larry.
Good to see you, Larry.
Good to see you, Larry.
Larry Fierstein.
We'll be right back.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
