yeah thank you very much it's another week how are you david i'm good uh i just
want to make a
little announcement here because they put it up over the weekend they put up
the big rockefeller
center christmas tree it was a thousand feet high with with two million
brightly colored lights and
a and a billion balls multi-colored balls it was up for the weekend and then
they they took it down
so if you're planning a trip to new york to see the trade forget it because it
was it was up for the
weekend and now it's been taken down yeah so don't come don't come shopping for
shoes and clog up the
streets because it's a waste of time there is and there are trees in other
parts of the country you
can go see trees other parts of the world you can celebrate the holiday in your
own hometown okay
you know paul uh you don't get to be as successful as we have been in
television
without being students of other television activity and so i do this i feel it's
my responsibility to
keep an eye on what's going on out there and uh last week i was watching the
the morning show with
regis lee and kathy lee regis lee regis lee and kathy and kathy lee that's
right and they had a psychic on
and i thought we should have a psychic on we haven't had a psychic on in years
have we morty
yeah not in a long time well maybe we could get a psychic on because listen to
this listen here's
what happens regis is there with the psychic and she is going to just at random
talk to people
in the audience so so a a woman stands up and the psychic kind of does this and
maybe there's
a trance or two just a little you know maybe a little just maybe yeah
you either hear that or you think you hear it you're not so she's
so so she says to the woman she says is there a member of your family uh whose
name begins with a
and the woman says now so the psychic says is there a member of your family
whose name begins with the
letter b and the woman says no all right to make a long story short i know that
may not be possible at
this point but they get they get all the way to e and the psychic says is is
there a member of your
family whose name begins with the letter e and she says uh ernie so so now now
we got something we
work our way down to e so psychically boom right there we got ernie so she says
now now what to tell
me about the relationship between you and ernie and she says that ernie is my
boy he's my son and she
says oh great and she goes in another trance and she says uh have you recently
purchased a gift for
ernie and and the woman says yes we bought ernie a bicycle now the psychic
beads of sweat are on her
forehead and she's really she's deep into this trance and she says all right i'm
getting something
if ernie takes the bicycle out into the street have him be very careful
and the audience goes nuts
i almost didn't come into work that day i was i was limp from exhaustion and
and frankly excitement as
well uh this past uh weekend here in uh new york city you know we uh we had the
big marathon what
what marathon was it like the 50th the 40th the the hundred and the hundred
yeah that's right i think
lincoln ran in the first one didn't he bob the hundred is it what was it i don't
know i thought
it was the 23rd 23rd sounds about right to me uh and we had various staff
members running in the in
the marathon we of course had uh uh rob burnett one of our writers running in
his second uh mary connelly
uh she's running in her second and uh my own assistant the lovely rose diamond
running in her first
now if you kids don't mind we have videotape and now this was this was at mile
23 and and if you see
people who have been running for 23 miles you'd expect them like they've been
dragged by a station
wagon or something they would look like that look at this here at first this
would be rob and see how
look at this this is 23 miles he has the strength to wave and do that thing
with his thumb
uh there's mary connelly and she's just working the crowd and asking what the
hell is she doing
there but waving i think that's and here's uh rose my assistant look at that
mile 23 she needs a cigarette is what she said i need a butt uh and then nearly
knocked to the ground
by a husky idler there we passing out bananas uh anyway uh rob uh ran in four
hours 21 minutes 53
seconds i'm very impressed by this mary connelly uh four hours 29 minutes and
39 seconds and uh uh our
friend uh rose here five hours 14 minutes and two seconds
i think that's mighty impressive sid when you were running you ran four before
i ran the last four
what was your best time uh 3.14 3.14 wow so you're i'm having no trouble
walking down steps today yeah
they are but now did you look that good at mile 23 i mean these people no yeah
are you sure you
guys ran this wasn't one of those rosie ruiz deals oh man i'm telling you the
first 10 miles in a cab were
a nightmare oh i'm sorry it was a joke madeline i didn't even know it was you
was it you madeline no
no no husky idler meaning in the most positive sense no like like no no like
like no i didn't mean
that it's just a figure no no i know it was i chose the wrong words i think it
was the the lens on the
camera did i'm sorry it was you're not madeline i don't cry we have a show to
do just leave the room
please
i thought madeline had gone home
i meant i meant i i the emphasis should have been more on idle than husky
i'm sorry i'm very sorry you're not she's not husky just tell her she's not husky

uh also uh cal ripken jr from the baltimore orioles they you know this is the
uh the one active
player that they think may have a shot at the uh lou gehrig record all right of
playing in
consecutive games how many has it been morty fourteen hundred or so
morty jumps on the phone look at that picks that phone right up he's calling
cooperstown to verify
telling the commissioner's office that's fave vincent on the other end of that
phone how long
has it been marty 1573 1573 courtesy of brian mcclellan and how how many shows

competed in the race on sunday
do you know her time do you know how long it took this 80 year old woman to run
the track now you're
stretching i don't know pushing our luck now anyway she'll be out of yeah she
