here we go here i have now the rundown for the rest of the show and also the
rundown for the
show on monday we will not be on saturday we will not be on sunday because of nbc's
extended coverage of the trouble they've been having on saturn
okay that's in case somebody is kind of dozing off at home
uh let's see dwight yokum and richard benjamin here tonight actress beverly de
angelo comedian jeff
stilson and rodeo star dave appleton that'll be on monday monday ladies as
anyone who watches this
program is aware suffering and pain are my constant companions recently i
started having trouble with
my right foot so with a quiet courage that inspired admiring murmurs on all
sides i went to new york
hospital to have my ankle examined
doctor how are you nice to see you dr alchek david alchek pleasure you know you
know you remind me a
little and i've never met you before you look a little in in the way you carry
yourself and just
your facial uh you uh resemblance to a young gregory peck do people tell you
that okay on occasion all
right so here's what happened about six weeks ago i'm in my backyard and i'm
under my monster truck i'm
changing the clutch it burned the pressure plate so i'm replacing that on the
truck and i had the
thing jacked up and i didn't see this but i have a feeling that my neighbor
came into the yard
pushed the truck off the jack and it crushed my right foot
oh and also is there anything you could do for my hair
how about that can you hear that yes how about that you hear that as well uh-huh
all right good we'll get you a balloon hi how do you do hi good how are you all
right my name's
sal well what are you exactly i'm a radiologic technologist when i was in
college pre-med students
for parties would bring x-ray equipment over to the party and we just spend the
entire night x-raying
one another now that probably was not a good idea that wasn't an intelligent
thing to do can you turn
the machine on to your eyes ever water we're monitored with film badges that
get developed a month has
has your jewelry ever melted do you ever hear any vibration or ringing in your
ears you'll feel a
vibration in the table maybe really the x-rays are that powerful they'll move
the table no the
x-ray won't move the table we have something called a reciprocating bucky in
there a reciprocating
bucky reciprocating buck wow this is my lucky day uh that replaced magic
fingers at a lot of hotels
this is just about how the accident happened and that is all we're done thanks
sal you're welcome
you're a brave man i don't mean in here with the x-rays i mean handling my
socks
you got a pretty good success rate with patients on occasion yeah have you lost
anybody not recently
no uh did you did you ever see to kill a mockingbird i do you you remind me of
some of those scenes in
the courtroom of uh gregory peck let's take your shoe and sock off and i was
hoping you'd do that
do you have anything in the dress pump
of course that's another joke hey that wasn't a joke is that bobby when we do
that well just
because i'm not crazy about having another guy handle my feet so what i'm just
checking on you
now david is the alignment of your foot right which looks pretty good also what
about the pants cuffs is
it's just like a little break in it what we can see right in the fracture right
in the middle of
the joint space is a loose body i see that pen will this pen draw on those x-rays
look it's a sad
little clown see he's crying there's eyes that's his nose and that's his little
frown and what is a
loose body well i don't know let's say he's got a toothpick you know i think
you do have a chronic
problem in the joint itself but i think what we'll do now is just work the
muscles on the outside of the
blank but this loose body is what is bones we've got bones it's not like it's
my car keys in there
right i don't know it is it's a little piece of bone but you think it'll be
able to ice dance again
um no all right nice meeting you yeah thanks doctor bye-bye yeah you want to wager
on that ice dancing
thing uh-huh we'll see we'll see we'll see
the medical miracle we'll have you right back here with dwight wilkin
