You know what we should do is mention the other folks with you
Yes, Mark O'Connor
Mark O'Connor
On the violin, thank you very much, Mark
Yes, thank you for having me
And Don Gronick
Don Gronick
On the piano, very nice
Good to have you here
You know, this is your 14th record
I think so
Since you've been working in professional big time music
It depends on what you count, but yes, I think it is
You've sold an awful lot of records, haven't you?
Somebody has for me, but yeah
People who went to see the show down at the Paramount
Now, I understand, originally it was going to be three shows
And they extended it to six because of the ticket demand
And people were saying, you go to a concert
And you have an idea about what the audience might be like
Who would come to see you
And that it's not like that at all
That people are screaming at you and they're wild
You know, I would guess that they'd be, oh, great, this is fun
But they were kind of rowdy
They were sort of enthusiastic and jumping up and down and stuff
Now, which way would you rather have them?
No, that's the best for sure
Really?
Yeah, to have a lot of energy come back
Yeah
And why is that?
Rather than...
You see, I would think that people would just be more like me
They go to enjoy the great show and stuff and relax
Yeah, that's what Don says
He says, when I go to a concert, I don't go crazy, but...
Oh, I've seen Don go crazy at concerts
Don't lie to us, Don
And you're touring?
It's great for me when there's a lot of audience energy comes back
Yeah
It helps you be foolish, you know, do silly things
You and I were talking a little bit in the hallway and we're like the same age
Except you're younger than I am
And I'm thinking to myself, I remember, and you probably hear this all the time
It's the first time I started listening to your music and it really brings back
some odd and maybe silly situations that involved headphones and a lot of beer
Yeah, it's good to see you here
The new album, this probably is already selling like crazy, isn't it?
New Moonshine
And you're continuing to tour across the country?
Well, we just did a month and we're going to break for a while now and then go
back out in the late winter sometime
Great, good to have you with us
Thank you very much, James
Don, I'll talk to you later
James Taylor
We're back with Carl
