Oh, thank you, boys. Very nice.
Are we going to hear Doc of the day?
Yes, of course.
We will hear it before the end of the...
Yeah, all white guys playing it.
Our next guests are all recent participants
in the Boston Museum of Science Annual Inventors Weekend.
Folks, here tonight is the future of corporate America.
All right.
Let's begin.
Are you Sarah Alger?
Yes.
Nice to meet you, Sarah. Where are you from?
I'm from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
Is that a nice community?
Yes.
You like going to school up there?
Yeah.
How old a person are you?
Twelve.
Twelve? You know, I think maybe you're going to be a very tall young woman.
That's good, don't you think?
Yes.
Are you looking forward to that?
Yeah.
Yeah. Are you taller than some of your classmates now?
No.
Oh.
Well, maybe I'm just nuts.
Sarah, is this your first invention?
Uh, yes.
All right. Tell us what the invention is and then the idea behind it.
All right.
This is an automatic pill dispenser and I made it for my grandmother because we
thought that
she was taking too much medication.
Well, that's what I thought.
I think it may be true of your whole family, but it's not my place to say.
Uh, all right. And so how does it work?
Well, you plug it into a kitchen counter outlet.
Oh, so it's electric.
Yes. And when this dial goes around, it's supposed to push one pill out into
the tray.
Uh-huh. Oh, so it's a timer and it dispenses it every, like, 20 minutes, every
30 minutes.
How often was Grandma taking a pill?
We're really not sure.
Yeah, well.
All right, Sarah. Well, it was a pleasure meeting you. You know who I am, don't
you?
Yes.
I'm Art Linkletter.
Okay. Ariel Potishman and Scott Golder. Did I get the names right, guys?
Yes.
All right, Ariel Potishman and Scott Golder. Who's who?
I'm Scott.
You're Scott.
You know, you guys look almost identically alike.
Please don't say that.
All right.
All right, fine, kid. We've got a pill for you, if you're anything.
Uh, let's see. How old are you guys?
I'm 10.
You're 10?
And I'm 9.
And you're 9, and you go to school together? Are you classmates?
Uh, no.
No. Well, how did you meet to put this invention together?
He lives three houses down from me.
I see.
Yeah.
Okay.
So?
And I thought of a board game to play since we were born.
So it's your idea?
Well, not exactly.
Oh, but the idea in general to do a board game was your idea.
The idea came in to do something, and this is all we could think of.
Yeah. All right.
I think that goes without saying.
Basically, you have to become the chief of police.
Oh, that's the idea. And what is the game called?
Police Adventure.
All right. So, let's take us through a round there of the board game, boys.
First of all, you can either be a police officer or a guard, which I'm losing
right now.
All right. That's all right.
And, um...
Could you also be a crook?
Uh, no.
No.
All right. I'll invent my own game.
All right. So what happens? The, uh...
Well, good things and bad things can happen.
Uh-huh.
You can be killed.
You can drown in the river.
Yeah.
But you can also become promoted.
Oh, you could get promoted, yeah.
So there is good things and bad things.
Yeah, I see.
If you run out of tokens, you're bankrupt. And you can either start over or you
can start
again with five tokens.
Uh-huh. And, and have you had any lucks, interesting, uh, toy companies in the
game?
Well, um, we wrote to Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley so far.
Well, what, now what did they say?
We didn't get any response yet.
I see.
If you're watching right now, please send back a response.
See if she'll let you have some of Grandma's pills.
Uh, let's see. Where am I? Am I at Amy Clark?
Yes.
Oh, hi, Amy. How are you?
Hi.
Nice to see you. How old are you, Amy?
Nine years old.
Nine years old. And you go to school with all these other folks or a different
school?
Different school.
Uh-huh. And, and are you a time-life operator?
Um, did you guys get that?
Yeah.
Did you, did you enjoy it?
Yeah.
Oh, good. Okay.
Uh, all right, Amy, what, what is your invention?
A jogger's jug.
A jogger's jug. All right. Can you turn around and show us what you have there?
Yeah.
Yeah?
It's a little, uh, container.
You can put, uh, water, juice, whatever, soup. Soup. Soup would be nice.
And then, and then as you run, you just, uh, you just, uh, sip on the little
tube.
Can you turn around?
Yeah, oh, sure. Let's see her run a little bit.
There she is demonstrating the jogger.
Wow, yeah.
Yeah.
Oh.
There she is running.
Works very nice.
Works very nice.
I, I think that this, and, and I don't mean to diminish other inventions, but I
think this
probably could go right on the market, don't you?
I guess.
Yeah, I think so too.
You need some help with that?
Ah, well, we don't have time for that.
Thank you very much.
And, and thank you for running.
It's better than us having to use our imagination.
Um, and last but not least, we have Kara Cohen.
Hi, Kara, how are you? Nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you.
And how, how old are you, Kara?
Eight years old.
Eight years old, and are you friends with the other kids or not?
Um, no.
Yeah, we're, you make it sound like it's out of the question as well.
Uh, and you, where do you live?
Um, in Hanover, Massachusetts.
Hanover, Massachusetts. Is this your first invention?
Um, yes.
Okay, what do you call this?
The dust booties.
The dust booties.
Yeah.
That was your first band in high school, wasn't it, Paul?
Man, were they good.
All right, uh, and it's a, it's a way to clean and dust the floors, right?
With your feet.
With your feet. All right, and, all right, okay.
Now, is there, is something that you want to do to demonstrate this for us?
Well, I can skate around.
Right.
All right, don't, don't get hurt.
Please don't get hurt. Okay.
And I have a song.
You have a song.
Now, is this part of the invention?
Yeah.
Okay, you know this is not Star Search.
All right, Sarah, let's hear your little song.
Sarah, it's Kara.
I'm sorry.
Yeah, we may just edit them both out.
Okay.
Okay, Kara, go right ahead.
Oh, dust booties, dust booties, dust will be all gone.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Dust booties, dust booties, dust will be all gone.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.
Oh, what fun it is to clean with a pair of dust booties on.

Thank you, thank you very much.
Nice meeting you.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.
We'll be right back.

We'll see you next time.
