Ladies and gentlemen, here's tonight's top 10 list. Let's go. Let's watch.
This should be a good category. The category is top 10 things, staffers. Now
when we say
staffers, we're referring to the people, the men and women, year in, year out,
day in,
day out, have helped put together this television show, in some cases beyond 30
years, more than
30 years. So staffers, these are things that they would like to say now to me,
to me, because
normally they're not allowed anywhere near me. If I get a communication from a
staffer,
it usually comes through the window tied to a brick. Top 10 things staffers
would like
to say to me on my 30th anniversary in late night. Ladies and gentlemen, here
to present
tonight's top 10 list, 10 long-time staffers. Come on out, kids.
That's a good-looking group of folks, isn't it? Don't you think?
Okay, top 10 things these folks would like to say to me on my 30th anniversary.
Number
10, this gentleman is Jay Johnson. He started working here in 1988, been on the
job for 24
years. Jay, number 10.
I stopped watching in 92.
Okay. Not a surprise. Thank you very much.
Number 9, our old friend Biff Henderson has been here since 1980. 32 years that
we've been
together. Biff Henderson, stage manager at NBC and now with us here at CBS. And
the thing
that he would like to say to me tonight on our 30th anniversary, number 9.
one of these days, we'll figure out how to kill you and make it look like an
accident.
All right. Thank you. Thank you, Biff.
You got to have something to do to keep busy, you know. This is Kathy Mavrikakis
or Kathy
Michalsik, whichever you prefer. 1985. She's been here 27 years. Oh, my
goodness. Kathy, number
8.
My therapist says I have Stockholm Syndrome.
Mm-hmm. Okay.
Thank you, Kathy.
My best of Manny.
Thank you.
Number 7. Oh, it's our dear friend Jude Brennan. Started here in 1980. 32 years.
That includes
The Late Show and The Morning Show. 32 years, ladies and gentlemen. And the
number 7 thing
one of the staffers would like to say to me. Take it away, Jude. Number 7.
I will not be berated this way. Go f*** yourself.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Now, in and of itself, that's plenty funny. It's also a little something from
rehearsal.
The greatest bass player on television, Night In, Night Out, 1982. Will Lee has
been part
of the band for 30 years. Number 6. Will, what do you have to say?
My family thinks I work at Walgreens.
That's right. Okay.
Number 5. Number 5 in your scorecard. Number 1 in your heart. You know her, you
love her.
You can't live without her. Barbara Gaines. 1980. 32 years. That includes The
Morning Show
at NBC. Hi, Barbara. How are you?
Okay, number 5. Take it away, Barbara.
30 years. We've never met.
Okay, fine.
The original voice of Minnie Mouse also, did you? True. That's, yes, that's
right.
Number 4 from 1984. It's our good friend, Sue Hum. 28 years. Sue, take it away.
Number 4. Sue Hum.
Hey, Grandpa, shove it in your ass. Okay, that's fine. I don't know. It was
supposed to be a whole
different kind of celebration, and now look how quickly it's turned. Here's her
old friend,
Rob Burnett from 1988. Been with us 26 years. Number 3.
You're incompetent. Thank you very much.
Number 2, Rick Sheckman. 1982. Also 30 years. Number 2, Rick Sheckman. Take it
away, Shecky.
I have always loved you. Now and forever.
Thank you. Okay. Just get back in line. Just get back in line and keep your
hands to yourself.
And the number one thing staffers would like to say to me on the 30th
anniversary,
Paul Schaefer, ladies and gentlemen. 30 years, 1982.
I got nothing to say to that.
I got nothing to say to that.
There you go, ladies and gentlemen.
The Late Show staffers.
Thank you so very much. Thank you, Mr. Schaefer. Really nice job. Thank you.
Thank you very much. Thank you. That's all we did.
Paul, great job. There they are, ladies and gentlemen. The Late Show staffers.
Let's ride back with Howard Stern, everybody.
