Thank you so much.
Uh, yet to come on tonight's program, uh, Lou Reed is here, and, uh, from the
Chicago
Bulls, Michael Jordan.
Now, uh, tomorrow on the, uh, program, uh, John Mellencamp will be here.
Paul, John Mellencamp?
Cougie, we call him.
No, no, no, it's no longer John Cougar Mellencamp, it's now just John Mellencamp.
Are you sure it's not just Mellencamp?
No, no, I've been instructed not to say Cougar.
I see.
John Mellencamp.
So, in other words, to refer to him as Cougie would be totally wrong.
You, you do what you think you can get away with, Paul.
Uh, also on the, uh, program tomorrow, Stupid Pet Tricks.
That will be tomorrow's program.
And, and, Paul, I don't believe there really is any need for us to go back to
New York.
You know, uh, ladies and gentlemen, there's, uh, an exciting, an exciting new
musical based on the life of legendary mobster Al Capone, starting in this very
theater next week.
Uh, tonight, please welcome Chris Elliott and the entire company of Legs to Cone,
performing the opening number from their brand new show.
Boys?
Oh, my God.
A five, six, seven, eight.
Rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat, tat.
We're gonna rat-a-tat, tat this windy town.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
We can't stop our stuff with a little greener.
Chris?
Chris?
Excuse me.
Chris?
Excuse me.
Chris?
You ought to be ashamed of yourself.
You ought to be ashamed of yourself, too.
Are you alright, Chris?
What happened?
I think I injured something down below.
Well, you know, that could be for the best.
And before we begin here, let me just say that this little dance number here,
this little
production thing, it literally made me ill.
Thank you very much.
You're always so supportive.
Thank you.
I appreciate that.
So, Chris, tell us a little bit about the big musical.
How is it going?
Well, you know, we've only done a few previews so far.
Yeah, and where did you do those?
In a prison auditorium.
I see.
And, you know, it wasn't really very well received there.
There used to be four of us here, but the fellow who plays Elliot Ness is
actually recuperating
at home with his folks.
Okay.
So, Jimmy, if you're watching, get well soon.
Okay, fine.
So, Chris, in preparing for this big musical about Al Capone's life, did you do
a lot of
research?
You know, that's funny.
I couldn't find one book written on the guy.
So, we don't really know how good a dancer he really was.
But good question.
Tip of my hat to your question writers.
Thank you very much.
So, anyway, I understand, Chris, that you have to run.
So, thanks for dropping by and that's nice.
That's funny.
Everybody has that misconception about me.
No, you don't.
I have no place to go.
No, you don't.
I've got no place to go.
I've got plenty of time.
Well, we really are.
We have a wife and a child.
Okay, what size shoe are you?
About a ten and a half is what I wear.
Well, that's Jimmy's size.
You can fit into his spats.
Why don't you come on the road with Lake Capone with us?
You'd be precious.
Chris Elliott, ladies and gentlemen.
Chris Elliott.
Chris.
Nice to see you.
Good job.
A wife and a child.
All right.
We'll be right back with Lou Reed from Chicago.
Thank you, folks.
We'll be right back.
