Welcome back to the program, boys and girls. Is he here? He landed. He did get
in. He landed
at Newark. So he'll be here. He has 27 minutes to make it. What's the best? Oh,
he's in a
helicopter. And where does the helicopter go? From Newark to where?
Philadelphia. Then it's
a limo up from Philadelphia. No, where do they land here? 34th. So from 34th,
32nd over on the
East River to here? That's 90 minutes. Emerson Fittipoli, look at this. Look at
this.
I'll show you this. Paul, it's me and the 101st Airborne. Yes, we saw that.
Take a look at
that. I want to show it to you one more time. Very, very nice. Can you spot the
one who later
deserted? All right. Coming up in this half hour, more than likely Connie Chung
will be joining
us. With a big brand new show coming up this fall on CBS entitled Say Hello to
Connie. That'd be the big show
there. Also, Swing Out Sister, eh? Absolutely. There you go on this program.
Tomorrow on the show,
cartoonist Linda Berry, comedian Robert Townsend, and the Auerbach Sisters. Ah.
Wait a minute. The Auerbach Sisters are senior Olympic medalists, and they're
77, 73, and 67 years old.
Great.
That'll be tomorrow. The Auerbach Sisters. What are we doing now? Oh, you know,
every once in a while,
what we like to do when we have a minute or so is check in with some of our
staff members and just
see what's new with their lives. And tonight, uh, we have, uh, uh, kind of a
little time to spend with,
uh, one of our writers, uh, Gerard Mulligan. Gerard, come on out and, uh, carry
with me.
Hey, Jerry. How are you? Good to see you.
Man. Man. Man. Hi.
Wow. Boy, you look, uh, you look terrific, Jerry. Thanks, Dave. What, uh, like
I need to ask, what's new, huh?
What's new, huh? Well, you know, we've got a new dog. Uh-huh. Oh, a new dog.
Black Lab,
name is Sheba. Right here? Is that the picture of you? Get that in. How old is
Sheba here in the photo?
Well, she's about a year and a half, but you know Black Labs. Yeah. What does
that mean?
Well, they still think they're puppies, so we've got, we've got teeth marks on
everything in the house.
She's very, very cute. Teeth marks on everything in the house? Yeah, including
the two kids.
Well, that's funny. Yeah. Uh, so, so, Jerry, what, what else is new?
Ah, geez, uh, that's about it. Can't do anything else. That's about all the new
stuff.
Well, you know what I'm talking about. What's the deal on the, on the Batman
suit here?
Oh, the Batman suit I'm wearing. Yeah, yeah. Well, that. Yeah. Uh, why are you
wearing that?
Well, for one thing, it's so darn comfortable. Uh-huh.
And, uh, another thing, I'm, uh, I'm promoting the upcoming film Batman.
You're promoting the film? Yeah.
You, you have a part in the movie and you didn't tell us?
I got a part in the movie. I don't have a part in the movie. Of course not.
No, you know, I just like a lot of people to go see it. Uh-huh.
Because I'm kind of a Batman nut. Uh-huh.
Huh. That's it. And where, where did you get the costume?
I made it. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
And is it an exact replica of the one that worn in the film?
No, actually, for copyright reasons, it has to have at least one element
different from the original.
I see. Well, it looks pretty much like the original. What, what is different on
this one?
Well, I've got this fluffy white bunny tail back here.
I don't know if you can see that. There. Where are we?
There it is. There it is.
There it is.
Okay, see.
That's, uh, so that's the difference.
You need to do that.
I do imagine not being able to see that.
Um, yeah.
So, well, tell us a little bit about the movie. Have you seen it? Do you know
anything about it?
No, it's not out yet, no.
I guess everyone knows by now, uh, Batman will be played by Michael Keaton.
Right.
Very talented guy.
Sure, yeah.
Uh, his archenemy, the Joker, will be played by none other than the Golden Bear
himself, Jack Nicklaus.
Did you know that?
Gotcha.
I think, I think, you know, I think it's, uh, what I've read is it's Jack Nicholson.
Jack Nicholson.
Jack Nicholson.
You know, I've never been happy to be wrong.
Uh-huh.
I mean that. I think he'll be a great Joker.
Uh-huh.
And to tell you the truth, to tell you the truth.
And please do.
When I first heard Jack Nichols was cast, I've got to admit, I thought it was
kind of a gimmick.
Kind of a gimmick, yeah.
Yeah, I did.
Not necessarily a joke, but perhaps a gimmick.
No, more in the way of a gimmick.
Uh, so when does the big film open?
Oh, June 16th, 17th, something like that.
Yeah, yeah.
And, and, uh, what's on tap for you now?
Well, I'm gonna try to make it home in time for a wheel.
Okay, ladies and gentlemen, Gerard Mulligan.
Nice to see you, Gerard.
All right, come on.
You know, I, I can't help but think that Emerson Fittipaldi will just be sick
that he missed that.
Uh, we'll do a commercial and be right back here with Swing Out System.
Uh, we'll do a commercial and be right back here with Swing Out System.
We'll do a commercial and be right back here with Swing Out System.
Thank you.
