come up to you and ask
beat me tease me slap me please me sincerely michael fossey binghamton new york
well i simply say
well i'm sorry ladies i'm a television host not a tv evangelist
yeah letter number two uh dear dave if paul could have hair again but it had to
be hair like yours
would he take it uh it could happen sparkles usa uh geez i don't know paul what

like the hair i have
here well you know would i ever and thank you so much and now thank you very
much and now i can and
and so can you with the late night hairpiece ensemble you know from the witty
charm of
hey biff to the manly sprawl of mr gurney each one captures the virile appeal
of your favorite
television personalities and each is made of lifelike machine washable dinelle
so ask your barber
or novelty dealer and soon you'll be saying i've got the worst haircut in show
business
thank you were you doing just a little just a little paul in there just a
little at the end
i was reaching for whatever i yeah i know i know believe me i know the feeling
yeah but i have i guess
it's the as michael said the whole joke i guess is this part of the comma that's
right yeah the
semicolon the gulf of mexico what you have yeah there it is right there cape
horn
and and uh further up here actually we have quite a canal going in that we we're
going to bridge the
pacific with the atlantic right through there one of these days i have that
actually have you yeah
do you hear a helicopter oh god there could be trouble outside
why do we hear helicopters in here it's getting closer well that's a little
scary isn't it what about
sir you in the front row don't you know
okay here we go letter number three is it three uh dear dave is it true that
people who steal things
from museums are the lowest form of life ket car and drew brockett northbrook
illinois uh well
captain drew i'm not sure we have the big chart here of the lowest forms of
life let's take a look at it
okay we have sea slugs on top then vj's then local car salesman who do their
own tv ads intestinal
parasites uh nbc guys who promised to redecorate my office yeah uh pro bowling
groupies i didn't
realize they'd be on the list and ed meese well sure he deserves to be there oh
yeah down there
at the bottom people who steal things from museums we all hear that right
oh good good um letter number four dear dave i'm going to take my parents to
see the show sometime in
june would you like to have dinner with us afterwards if not would you ask paul
if he would like to go with
us my folks will probably treat this offer won't last forever your considerate
fan steve gershick
san francisco state california gee this is a uh a wonderful thought somebody
coming to the show
with their parents and they're inviting me to dinner and they're going to treat
and sure i'm going
to go with you thank you very much i'll look forward to that paul i'm going to
go have dinner
with these people i can hardly wait and they're going to pay for it it'll be
very nice
hey paul if something happened today you could go to dinner with the gershicks
shame paul how
could you even think of harming your friend dave don't listen to him we're
talking about a free
dinner here but if you kill dave you'll lose this cushy job well uh paul is
talented enough to get his
own show oh yeah right the paul shaver show come on yeah yeah you win that does
sound pretty stupid
that's all right dave you go and have a good time put the little hairpiece back
on
so now we understand it's a jackhammer trying to get al roker out of his
dressing room
wedged in there
uh dear mr letterman the main reason i'm writing mr letterman is to find out
when you will have adam
west on your show mr west is truly an underrated performer and deserves a shot
on your program
sincerely bradley davis east lansing michigan uh you know this is a it's a very
interesting letter uh
uh request and and we have a very very exciting treat for you ladies and
gentlemen

do you uh
do you still keep in touch with burt ward who bird ward your little uh co-star
your little crime
fighter pal oh right yeah we're close friends yeah and uh how many episodes of
batman did you shoot
jeez i don't know a thousand you know i think the show is only on the air like
two and a half seasons
so a thousand seems high uh dave uh i have a confession to make i'm i'm not
really adam west
well my gosh it's our very own gerard mulligan look at this paul it's not adam
west at all it's
jerry mulligan what the heck is going on here jerry dave i just couldn't
disappoint bradley davis
he wanted so much to see adam west yeah well that's a nice gesture but why didn't
we just get adam
west to be on the show all right like adam west doesn't have better things to
do with his time
perfect oh god okay use the jackhammer to shoehorn him out of the outfit
now what oh good here we go we're getting oh what a show this is really a good
show
