Does anybody here know the Nashville ninth, the tuning?
Okay.
I've been trying to find the Nashville ninth for a long time.
I've stumbled across the Nashville sixth.
They're very handy for those of you that play guitar.
If you use open tunings, try Nashville tunings.
It's the same tunings that are used on the show buds or on the fenders or
whatever, the pedal steel guitars.
But you don't have to, it doesn't have to sound that way if you don't want it
to.
The thing is those tunings are perfect for bottleneck because you can modulate
with them.
I think that's the right word.
But you can, you know, you can do a lot more than if you're in G tuning or
something.
I really think the best way to find, they're very simple tunings.
They're those things that are so obvious, you know, that you can't, you just
can't see it.
I'd like to dedicate this next song to Nashville ninth.
This is called Easter and Sargasso C. The best recording available on it is the
best recording that isn't available on it.
One of my favorites, but it was done on the original Oblivion record.
We played it.
I played it twice through the first night.
The second night I played it, oh, at least two or three times that night.
Something happened every time I played it, you know, somebody would fall down
or hit someone or the piano would hum, which it does.
It just hums darn it.
The one we have on the record has a door opening at the end.
It's a door opening at the end.
It's a door opening at the end.
