I woke up the day and found the frost perched on the town
It hovered in a frozen sky, gobbled summer down
When the sun turns straight or cold
And shivering trees are standing in a naked robe
I get the urge for going
I've never seen it
And I get the urge for going
Meadow grass is turning brown
Summertime is falling down
Winter clothing
And I had a girl in the summertime
With summer colors
Not another man in town
My darling's heart could win
When the leaves fell trembling down
Holy winds did push their faces in the snow
She got the urge for going
And I had to let her go
And she got the urge for going
And the meadow grass was turning brown
Summertime was falling down
Winter clothes
And the warriors of winter
Hear the poor triumphant shout
And all that stays is dying
And all that lives is getting numb
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
I see the geese in the chevron plate
They've got the wings
And they get the urge for going
When the meadow grass is turning frown
Summertime is falling down
Winter closing
I'll fly the fire with kimmy
Pull a blanket to my chin
I'll lock the bacon's winter out
Open my wonder
I'd like to call back
Summertime
To have her stay for just another
Once or so
She's got the urge for going
I guess she'll have to go
And she gets the urge for going
When the meadow grass is turning frown
All her empires have fallen down
Winter closing
And I get the urge for going
When the meadow grass is turning frown
Summertime is falling down
