You know, when we were putting together Harmon Killebrew Night, we asked you
who some of your favorite entertainers were, and in the category of music, you
selected whom?
Charlie Pryde.
Charlie Pryde, and Charlie was going to be here on tonight's program, but
because of the inclement weather here in the New York City area, he was unable
to get his flight out of Dallas, Texas.
However, he's still going to perform for us. I understand this is him on the
phone?
He actually was going to be here. That's no joke. Let me just see. Hello,
Charlie?
Yes, sir.
This is Dave. How are you?
Hello, Dave.
Nice to talk with you. Let me put Harmon on for a second.
Okay, I was watching you last night. Yeah, put him on.
Okay. Charlie?
Yeah?
Well, I'm sorry you're not able to be here.
Yeah, Harmon. I tell you, you know, I was very pleased to be here. I would love
to be there, but I want to say right off that congratulations. I watched the
old-timers game, and you still got the stroke.
Well, I know you still got it.
Ask him to sing it.
I'm going to ask you to sing a song for us, Charlie, if you will.
Okay, I'll be glad to.
Would you sing "Mountain of Love" for us?
I'll be glad to. It's the first time I've ever tried to do something like this,
but I'll give it a whirl.
I'll give it a whirl.
All right, thank you.
All right, thank you very much for it.
Okay, Charlie, we'll just put the phone down here, and Paul and the band are
ready.
Okay.
Okay, good luck to all of us.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Landing on the mountain, looking down on a city
The way I feel as a dog's on steady
Teardrops are falling down the mountainside
Many times I've been here, and many times I cried
We used to be so happy when we were in love
That high on the mountain of love
Right at the night I've been standing here alone
Weep in my heart at the cold break
I'm praying that you're lonely and you come here too
Hoping just for chance that I get a glimpse of you
Crying hard to find somewhere, love
That high on the mountain of love
Mountain of love, the mountain of love
You should be ashamed
You should be a mountain of love
But you just change your name
Way down below says there's a half a million people
Somewhere there's a church and a big old steeper
In a time there's a church, there's an all to the flowers
Resting bills are ringing, and it's just a thousand dollars
That's why I'm so lonely
I dreamed on above
That high on the mountain of love
Mouth of love, you should be ashamed
Mouth of love, you should be ashamed
You should be a mountain of love, but you just change your name
Mouth of love, you should be ashamed
Mouth of love, you should be ashamed
