Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Jimmy Cook. Mr. Jimmy Cook.
Jimmy, what the heck do you call that? Is that jazz? Is that what that is?
Jimmy, I'll tell you, I love jazz.
You can probably tell we use it on the top of the show all the time.
You know, we've been getting an awful lot of mail here at NBC in New York.
People asking us, hey, where is Mr. Jimmy Carter?
You know, I mean, we've seen Ted Kennedy out campaigning.
We've seen George Bush. We've seen Ronald Reagan.
We've seen even John Anderson.
But where the heck is Jimmy Carter?
Well, many people speculate that Mr. Carter is actually just too darn busy
to come out and campaign in the White House.
So our staff did a little research.
We came up with the fact that Mr. Carter actually ran off and joined a circus.
It's the truth.
He became a fire eater.
He calls himself Jimmy the Torch.
He'll be out here a little later on.
Then on the second half of our show this morning, we have Mr. Johnny Carson.
We're all looking forward to that.
That should be great.
What's that, George?
Oh, we have a commercial?
All right, fine.
We'll be right back with Mr. Jimmy the Torch
right after these messages from our NBC television station.
Wait, before we get to that, I'd like to tell you who's coming up next week.
Next Monday night, we have Mr. Bill Till, a farmer from upstate New York,
who'll come down to discuss with us how he makes an honest living.
And then what the heck, Tuesday night we'll bring in a politician to give you
the other side of the story.
Well, gang, well, gang, without any further ado, let's get right to Mr. Jimmy
the Torch, shall we?
Thank you very much, Tom.
I want you to know I'm a little nervous up here tonight.
I have no problem, I have no problem doing this in front of my friends, but,
well, this is New York, and I've been burned once here this week already.
Thank you very much. Thank you, Malcolm. Thank you.
Well, thank you very much, Jimmy. That was tremendous.
Jimmy the Torch will be performing all this week at Billy Bob's Bar and Grill
in Plains, Georgia.
What's that, George? Oh, we don't have time? That's it?
We don't have time for Mr. Carson tonight? Sorry about that, Johnny.
You feel like an author?
Well, we'll be right back to wrap up the show after these messages from our NBC's
television stations, Coach to Coach.
I want to thank Mr. Ed Hall from our guest relations department for one of the
best impressions of Tom Brokaw I've ever seen.
Thank you all for watching, and from New York City, we'll do it again sometime.
Good night, everybody.
Good night, everybody.
Thank you.
Friday, Boomer adopts a washed-up song-and-dance man and really helps him clean
up his act.
Here's Boomer.
Then, at a special time, Pink Lady and Jeff welcome Blondie, Boomer, Florence
Henderson, Lauren Green, and Sid Caesar.
Pink Lady, Friday at 830, 730 Central and Mountain, right after Here's Boomer
on NBC.
Don't forget!
You've heard them.
