Bob Comforts Concerned Parents and a School Nurse as Kids Go Back | Bob Saget

hey welcome to yet another special i call people episode i talk in uh caveman
hieroglyphics i call
people episode um of bob saget's here for you and i'm uh bob saget i'm here for
you i am i mean i
can't get in my car and come over because you probably live far but uh i don't
know if i would
anyway because you know we don't know each other but we're going to after these
phone calls i really
appreciate you guys calling in on days like this because you are my special
guests so uh this is
where you rate review you subscribe you say nice stuff if you don't like it you
know yeah why do
that why be a hater you know i'm a good person anybody that says that by the
way watch out for
them anybody that says i'm the best uh they're not so uh anybody that says i'm
not that great
they might be right or they're awesome well we've solved that
well i just was uh checking my uh twitter and what i do is i announce on
twitter instagram
or and facebook now uh when i'm going to call people and then i have a phone
number which you
can see right up there at the top of the menu of this podcast and i just looked
and this person
named jessica said i'm waiting for your call here bob so i'm going to try her
it's maria and jessica i
believe but i'm going to give a call and uh and see if the answer which would
be pretty awesome so
when people answer it it makes it a much better show
hello hello is this jessica it is jessica it's bob saget i'm right here i'm
right here i swear
all right thank you for being so patient i i didn't realize and then i i was
recording and
then i looked at my twitter and there it is you know i'm waiting for your call
bob so i was like
um maria's here with me as well excellent hi maria how are you guys doing where
are you what what city
are you in we're in edmonton oh canada i love it there i haven't performed in a
while i know
i actually um booked you i was the marketing manager at a casino um and we
booked you to play
there one year oh and our friend toured with you where was it was it at the
river cree yeah memory good
memory it was it was at the river cree yeah i know every uh gig i have is like
a date so i kind of have
not uh i guess i haven't dated that much in my life but i but well you
obviously didn't ask me on a date
when we were there no it's been a great date i apologize water park uh i did i
don't go to water
parks because that and that was before we were worried about droplets you know
before people in miami
were in pools giving god knows what to each other so it's crazy so how how's edmonton
affected by
what's going on it's you know what it's not that bad here right now um we have
restaurants open our
movie theaters are open we actually were the um city that the nhl playoffs were
in so they made a big bubble
downtown that all of the teams were playing all of the games in our arena and
all the restaurants were
reserved for them and they weren't able to kind of go in and out so we're doing
we're doing okay schools
are open and it's actual in class schools and not virtual right which i know in
the states it's not
really like that yeah because we didn't do all the stuff you guys did i mean we
a lot of people just
we have a lot of people here that don't believe it exists covet exists so you
know that that's not
helpful yeah when when you get a rally and have 10 000 people in it but but do
people wear masks when
they go to an event yes it's mandatory we're a master yeah and people are
people here don't they don't
agree you know they're like you're taking away my freedoms it's like what i
know it's bizarre i know
it's like saying if everybody's if everybody's feet got cut off oh no don't
stop the bleeding it's not
real my foot didn't get cut off so it's like just let me walk on my pegs people
are crazy they just need
to do it so we can get this over with correct and then we'll have a vaccine and
then people will get
it and pharmaceutical companies will make a ton of money off of it and people
will get well and
we hope that it'll be one that it doesn't reoccur that you know yeah for sure
now it says here in
the notes from my producer that you had a mention of the yankee doodle boy and
john stamos's hair
that's what you because i always say what do you want to talk about on my voicemail
is that what you
guys wanted to talk about just gotta say that of all of quarantine i think the
highlight for me was
seeing yankee doodle boy in the reboot of fuller house uh we we felt the same
way and i was very
happy i was there and and and for one thing he is incredibly delightful he
became this really great
artist he's a great singer and dancer and that's what he was doing as a seven-year-old
or ten-year-old i
don't know how old he was when he was on the original full house and he just he
couldn't stop
tap dancing and singing they really used him well in that episode it was such a
nice homage to the
yankee doodle boy which we called we called him that that was not the name of
his character you know um
do you really think that he should have beat michelle though i know i i don't
think that that no no not
no she's my kid you know um yeah you know what he was better than the statue of
liberty
i agree great statue of liberty she was i forgot so much of this you know you
remember all of it right
because you're the age group for it right like we probably every we probably
quote full house on a
daily basis well that's uh the thing is people are they need a refuge so that
was mindless fun
television with some morality plays it's uh it's blake ewing blake ewing and uh
he was born in 85
and that's when we were born 85 there you go you're the same age and you know
what it says on youtube
it says full house yankee doodle boy it's what it says it says yankee doodle dandy
uh there's different
guys that do this but he was uh blake's a really really nice guy and he was it
was hilarious and then
john stamos's hair i will tell you it's infuriating i can't take it anymore um
i he a couple weeks ago
he facetimed me and i'm just like okay i'm gonna hear from john that's nice and
i'm like looking like
crap i'm just i've got like you know i don't know it's late at night i'm not
shaved my my i got a robe
on i look like uh quentin tarantino in pulp fiction you know and and stamos 11
o'clock at night on like a
tuesday he looks amazing he's like what are you doing a photo shoot and he goes
no i'm just hanging
at home like well i hate i hate you i hate you look at you what's wrong with
you go draw with a marker
on your face or something i he is uh he's a good guy well stay healthy and it
sounds like you're doing
good and i really appreciate the calls really sweet so thank you guys thank you
have a wonderful day you
too thanks so much bye bye bye bye well that was sweet i'm calling frank now
frank's kids are
going back to school apparently and i want to see what's up with that and see
where he lives i don't
know this area code hello hey frank bob saget here no way i swear you called it's
me how you doing man
oh my god i was i was i was honestly cursed myself because i missed your first
call no worries no
like no way i missed my chances with with danny tanner bob saget the man
himself ah thank you no
there's no way i'd let you go so how are you where are you frank um i'm just
about i'm in uh woodbridge
ontario it's about uh 20 minutes or so 25 minutes north of uh toronto oh i know
exactly where i'll be
coming back into town the next year or two and then i'll probably do the queen
elizabeth or
someplace there that seems fun oh beautiful so when i'm there and come
backstage we'll take a social
picture it'll be great oh i would i would honestly i'd love to bring the wife
to it done and done
have you been in quarantine or is it kind of uh lighter i just talked to some
lovely canadian girls
that were uh in edmonton so um and they've sounded like things are kind of back
to normal with with
social distance and masks and all that well we're doing masks and social
distance but i haven't
i was being essential i'm a construction superintendent so i was working the
entire time
wow you know my wife was working from home with the kids and she was going
through a lot with the kids
and i was you know i was like i said i was working i the only days i've had off
for the uh statutory
holidays and i took a week vacation a few weeks ago with my wife and my family
so i'm glad you got
well thank you thank you for working your tail off during this crazy time no
that sounds like the wife
that is the wife actually um hold on a second let me let me grab it well say hi
to bob saget hi how are
you i'm not kidding hey how you doing thanks for being a great mom while frank
was being safe doing
construction craziness yeah yeah thank you uh it's been hard but it is
challenging well you're to be
commended because that's one of the hardest jobs of all yeah yeah mom mom or
construction no but yeah
actually uh i would say being a mom or a dad if you're with kids all the time
it's uh it's hard
it's a challenge and they're and they're how old are your kids nine and five
nine and five that's
adorable actually but that is a handful right no it's not bob it is not you
know
it's not michelle and stephanie tanner it's it's uh oh man
do they need it you know do they need a danny tanner talk do they need me to
sit them down and we're
italian so we curse every so often so danny tanner talk wouldn't work so well
you know if you know my
comedy i curse every so often too so oh we love i love your comedy first thank
you
i can be either it's you know it's the angel and devil on my shoulders but i i
mean well so now
now they're going honestly i'd love go ahead frank sorry i'd love to have uh
sorry for the kids we'd
love to have you give a talk like um like the way you did a rodney dangerfield
roast that will settle
i got in trouble at that because it was like i said that he answers the door
and his his balls are
hanging out of his safari shorts like like janitor's keys if i recall i
remember i remember that line
my favorite line of the entire roses and he said you're like rodney i only do
it since i love you
and by the time mine comes around they're gonna dig your old ass your dead ass
up and you're gonna
roast me like the like the son of a bitch that you are and then paul rodriguez
came up and he said
you did nothing for me rodney it was like i remember that rose vividly he's one
of my favorites
well rodney was a special guy rodney was really good young comedians and cared
a lot and uh
he taught me a lot he taught me a lot he was he was a funny man damn it he's
funny guy
i i grew up watching him as well my father was a big fan right like he still
still is a big fan he's
still you know my head still with us he he loves rodney like he and we always
joke because he kind of
resembles him a little bit that's funny we joke around i guess well rodney came
from a real place i mean he
really did feel no respect i mean he changed his name three times so i mean he
started as uh uh
jacob cohen and then he was jack roy yeah and then it was a hit another name
mixed in there and
then a club owner called him rodney dangerfield out of nowhere yeah my my dad
my dad still bright like
still says he goes like whenever we're confused about something he'll always
say hey a guy who didn't
make it until he was like in his 40s was rodney danger yeah in caddy caddy
shack was his first big
movie he was 58. yeah like him my dad because he was a guy that was an older
man yeah that made it so
never think time's up that is accurate and that's what we've got going on in
this country right now with
our candidates and joe biden people are concerned of his age and what does he
accomplish and it's like
people don't realize maybe this is his time you know maybe this you don't know
i mean i've got stuff
to do i'm 64. i got stuff to do in the next 20 years i want to make a bunch of
movies as a director
i i've got stuff that is different than stuff i've done or like stuff i've done
i mean i shot dirty wo
