It was a private, I don't think,
I mean, there may have been cameras there,
but I don't think it's gonna be repeated or anything,
but it was part of the Netflix Comedy Festival.
And they asked me to host this thing for Norm Macdonald,
and a bunch of people spoke.
And I'd like to start by telling you
the very last words that Norm Macdonald spoke on this earth.
He said, "When I go,
make damn sure they have a memorial for me.
See to it, that it's part of a much larger festival
promoting a streaming service.
Make sure you arrange it hastily,
and have it early in the morning.
Now, damn it, make certain
that many of the tributes are on videotape,
and that Rob Schneider is featured prominently.
And finally, hold it in a theater
in some part of Hollywood,
frequented by male prostitutes.
Norm, we heard you, and we are here."
And everyone was saying really great stuff,
and a lot of people were funny,
but man, Kevin Ewan had the greatest line,
because a lot of us were talking about how brave Norm was,
and he really was.
He was fearless as a comedian.
And then Kevin Ewan gets up and he says, you know,
he's saying very funny things,
and he just says, you know,
a lot of people up here are talking about how
Norm Macdonald was brave in his comedy.
I think of it more as a lack of judgment.
It was just like, oh my God.
Hey, the great Kevin Nealon was on the show.
Who's funnier than Kevin?
I can't think of anyone.
Well, Nick Swarden.
Well, I don't know.
I love Kevin.
No, Kevin's the best.
Kevin's been around forever.
Oh, he's hilarious.
He's kind of a hero of Nick.
Norm had that gear of not caring or wanting,
like he would walk rooms.
I know Larry Bubbles Brown, a friend of mine from North,
Norm worked a bit,
and he could clear the room,
San Jose Improv.
Like at least 300 people slowly walked out.
So it's bravery or whatever.
I worked with him at the comedy store once.
It was just one of those nights.
Bill Burr was there.
He just said the word cock like 200 times.
Right.
This guy's got a cock, right?
And a cock.
He just knew how funny it was to say that.
Yep.
Over and over and over.
So, of course, the comedians love that kind of comedian.
We're all dying.
Right.
The audience kind of, where do we go with this?
And he just went, there's only one Norm.
I need your love.
You free my mind.
I need your love.
Yeah, you free my mind.
I saw you on Conan once,
and you did say,
you said crack whore and midget several times.
Yeah.
So then I did do a thing.
Well, confession.
I did Norm MacDonald as an alarm clock.
And it was like, this is what it was.
Wake up.
Hey, wake up there.
There's a crack whore and a midget in your bed.
So I just thought that was really funny, right?
What about the other?
