Some of my material comes, my strongest material comes from real life.
Real life?
Like, for instance, today I was driving in a car.
You were kind enough to bring a car to bring this old chunk of coal here to the
studio.
We send, we send cards for our guests, yes?
Yeah, so I got in it, and that's, you know, I get material that way, so my
driver...
What do you mean? How do you get material that way?
You get in the car, and what happens?
My driver tells me a joke.
Guy goes into a dentist's office.
Yeah.
Then I said, what are you doing here?
He said, I think I'm a moth.
A moth?
A moth.
He said, what?
I think I'm a moth.
He said, well, you have mental problems.
You need to go see a psychiatrist.
He said, I know.
He said, you're in a dentist's office.
He said, I know.
He said, what are you doing here?
Why did you come here?
He said, the light was on.
That's a good joke.
That's a great one.
And you're going to tell it now on the show?
Yeah, that's how I get a lot of my material.
Okay, why don't we just have him on next time?
That guy, that guy, wait until you hear me do it.
So the guy, he goes, I say, I'll be the guy.
Okay.
A moth, a moth goes into a podiatrist's office.
A moth goes into a podiatrist's office.
You are correct.
When I came to Hollywood, Andy was a good friend to me.
He was nice to you when you first came here.
He was absolutely.
We had nothing, you know.
We were just starting out.
We were, I was working at Artie's deli coffee shop.
Bustin' tables, you know.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And stuff like that.
And he was always there to help me and stuff.
He was the first guy I actually met.
He was, he had some pilot on the TV and stuff.
And he was really so sweet to me, you know.
And he said, he said, I want to invite you over to a Hollywood party.
Now, I'd never heard, I'd never, I was just a farm boy from Canada, you know.
Sure, yeah.
Yeah, Canada, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
And a big nation up to the north.
Sure, yes, yes.
Powerful nation.
Lovely people.
So I said, wow, here's my, you know, Andy Richter's going to show me, I'm going
to go to a Hollywood party.
How exciting, you know.
So, so he said, yeah, he said, it's going to be a pretty wild party.
You know, I'm not used to wild parties.
I said, what, what is a wild party there?
You know, I don't get out much.
He says, oh, you know, he's like a little drinkin', a little fightin', a little
fornicatin', you know.
I said, wow, man, that sounds pretty good.
I said, what time should I show up?
He goes, anytime, it's just the two of us.
Now.
It's huge.
He said, welcome to the neighborhood.
I know it's not exactly a neighborhood.
I live 40 miles from here.
But if you're interested, tomorrow night, I'm throwing a welcome to the
neighborhood bash.
There's going to be a lot of barbecue, some drinking, some dancing, and some
wild sex.
Would you like to come?
And Morty said, sure, but what should I wear?
The cowboy said, it doesn't make any difference.
It's just going to be the two of us.
