It's interesting that John Elway won two Super Bowls in a row after a career of
nothingness.
He would have just been a bum.
And then he did the same thing almost with Peyton, you know.
Peyton really should have won at least two.
I mean, he won his last one.
He won his...
I mean, you know, his last one, he didn't really win.
But he really got burned by Baltimore one year.
That's right, that bomb.
Yeah.
I mean, not by Baltimore, but by his own defense.
But I didn't think about it until just now, but maybe he was trying to do the
same thing with Peyton.
But he got him his second, so Eli doesn't have to have the most...
Now, do you have a team?
Do you have a rooting interest in football?
Yeah, yeah, I have a team I very much like.
It used to be Denver, because this is an interesting thing that happened.
I never liked Peyton Manning.
I don't know why, but I just didn't.
Are you a Brady guy, or are you just an anti-Peyton guy?
No, I just, for some reason, didn't like Peyton.
I didn't like that Eli...
I really didn't like that Eli was drafted by Seattle and said,
No, I'm going somewhere else.
I'm like, What?
You're allowed to do that?
Eli did that, to Baltimore.
That's right, you did, you're right.
So I said, so anyways, but Peyton Manning one time, I was in a hotel in New
York, and I was leaving it, and Peyton Manning was coming in.
And he walked up to me, and he said, Hi, I'm a big fan, Peyton Manning, you
know, like he said, his own name, as if he needed to.
And then I liked him.
That's how shallow I am.
A guy likes me, and then I like him.
Well, you know he was there that night.
What night?
At Radio City Music Hall.
Oh, well, you're right.
He was a young, uh...
Oh, he was really young.
Yeah, he was super young.
He's one of the awkward cutaways.
Yeah, right, because I remember looking, and going, wow, is that him?
Because I saw just recently.
That was quite a game, you know, I mean, you know who impressed me the most
yesterday was Kobe Bryant.
Unbelievable.
Yeah, wow.
This guy, this guy's amazing.
19 years old, the youngest starter ever in the All-Star game, and he played so
well that today he was named spokesman for NBC's new public service campaign
called, uh, Screw It, Who Needs College?
Do you worry when you're in the audience at the ESPYs that somebody's going to
make fun of you?
Absolutely.
But I think athletes, for the most part, have pretty thick skin.
I think so, too, yeah.
But I think it's different, Jimmy.
If I make fun of an athlete, at least I've kind of been there.
When they get made fun of by, like, an unathletic comedian, it's kind of
different.
Right, right.
You know, like, like, I'm trying to think of some examples, but, yeah, but like
someone, yeah, right, like a Norm MacDonald, for instance.
I was not talking about you.
I was not talking about you.
I was not talking about you.
