I helped the rookie with his projects, and he was well on his way to graduating,
but he mysteriously didn't show up.
Where's the rookie?
I saw him. He's coming.
But lately, he's gone above and beyond in the shop, and his can't-fail attitude
is very important for the Stuart Haas team.
Hey, what's up?
Hey, Rob.
How are you?
Man, I've been giving this job everything I've got. Since the graduation mishap,
I've been giving it the effort of three Jeremias, maybe four.
You house.
They don't make kids like they used to. When I came in here, I was a rookie for
two minutes. Tony's seen it in me. Fixed all the cars by myself. These two
hands.
You're a striver, kid.
Let's do it because I feel good about it, Murray.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
So I'm committing myself to the try, try again part of everything they assign
me.
Oh, yeah. A rookie's doing a great job. Lately. But does he deserve to graduate
out of rookiedom? Maybe. We have to see what today has in store for the young
man.
Go rookie!
Woo!
Come on, rookie!
Come on!
Hurry it up!
Yes, yes!
Gotta walk there!
I'm still just waiting to ace that one final do-it-yourself project to prove
that I shouldn't be a rookie anymore. One final challenge like in all those
reality shows on TV.
Yes!
Yes!
All right!
You did it!
Woo!
He won a challenge, does he? Well, he's been good with the regular projects,
but he still hasn't done a lot of tough work on those cars yet.
Oh, hope I'm not getting in your way, Rook.
I just hope I'm not in your way, Newhouse.
You know something, rookie? I will graduate you, but you got one last project
you gotta finish first.
See? Patience and fortitude and the ability to bite one's tongue will pay off
in the end.
Look here, rookie. If you can rotate these four times, shine them up real nice
before I finish this butter pecan liquid milkshake, you will graduate.
Really?
Yeah! Cause see, I'm gonna enjoy standing right here, finishing this delicious
concoction while I watch you finish your last project on your own.
No problem. You may begin.
See, the thing is, I'm great at building stuff, especially with Tony's help,
but I'm not that experienced a mechanic just yet.
And I know for a fact that Newhouse's car tires are all rusted in. Apparently
he lives in a swamp.
This is terrible, boy. You ain't got a chance.
Stuart Haas Racing Team is soldiers!
You're no soldiers. Look at you. Can't even get one lug knuck off. I'm halfway
finished already.
You're using a big straw.
This ain't no big straw. This a regular straw.
Don't look regular.
Won't you stop talking and do more turning?
I could really use Tony right now.
Look at him. Can't even take a towel.
Glad Tony ain't here to see this.
You're telling me I'm his only hope for graduating?
Well, I guess he needs some encouragement.
Jeremiah, do you want to stop being a rookie?
Who said that?
Anybody else hear that?
Do it yourself. D-I-Y. D-I-Y.
This place better not be haunted again.
If there's one bond that Jeremiah and I have in common, it's that we both love
working with our hands.
He'll change these tires all by himself. I have faith in him.
Look at him.
Does he deserve to graduate? I'm still waiting for the proof.
Jeremiah, come on, you're doing it.
Jeremiah, go. Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Ow.
I've got an ice cream headache.
Somebody give me a warm washcloth, please.
Go for it.
You're doing it. That's it.
Go.
Jeremiah, go.
Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Come on.
Go.
Yes.
That's it.
I did it.
Remind me what size pants you wear.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I can't believe I did it.
Tony helped me, but in the end I actually did it myself.
I can't tell you how good that felt.
So, I finally decided to let the rookie graduate.
Yeah.
Woo.
You did it.
All right.
Good job, man.
Yeah.
Good job.
So, when do I get to start working on that 14 card?
Oh, slow down.
You recently formed a rookie?
Soon, I hope.
All right.
Thank you so much, Mr. Tony Stewart.
Yeah.
Thank you for joining the team.
Jeremiah is a part of the family now.
Maybe he's like a third cousin, twice removed, or maybe even an uncle of my
aunt's granddaughter.
