I want to thank our Patreoners and everybody. I had a unique opportunity. I was
in recently Tulsa, San Antonio.
Where else is it? I was in, dang, Oklahoma City and Austin.
And it was just one day, one day in each city, one day to the next.
And so we didn't get to do a single mom's night out. Exactly.
But we did, we just didn't get to like take a single mom out and about kind of
deal.
But we did get to bring two single moms to the show in Tulsa.
And one, this girl, Leah, a young lady, and she has a baby.
And she didn't know what was going on.
I think she thought, I don't know what she thought.
But I think she was just glad that we weren't perverts whenever she came out.
And she was a very beautiful, sweet gal.
And so she came out to our show, first comedy show.
And also then what we did was we brought Julie, who was the first single mom
that ever, you know, let us.
Who was ever a part of the single mom's night out?
She was the first one ever from Siloam Springs, West Siloam, over there in
Arkansas.
And she came out. She came back out.
And so it was really sweet.
She came out and brought some of her friends.
And we were able to do some, just be a part of their lives.
And so I want to give a call right now to Leah and then to Julie and just check
in.
And I just want to say thank you guys so much, all of everybody this past
weekend, the curious crew of who we are, just for, for just, I don't know,
being a part of this, man.
You know, this is, you know, I always wanted to love my mother better when I
was, when she was single and when I was a kid, you know.
And, you know, and, and I couldn't, and this is a way that we're all able to do
that now as a group.
And so it's fun that we get to do it.
So let's, let's touch base with, with Leah.
Hello.
Hey, Leah, what's up?
This is Theo.
I met you a couple of weeks ago.
Yeah.
Hi, how are you?
I'm doing okay.
I was the weird guy at the, who wouldn't be quiet for an hour on stage.
Yeah, I remember.
Okay, cool.
Did you guys have fun at the show?
Yes, it was so much fun.
Nice.
You were hilarious, so.
Well, thanks.
I have to ask that and I have to get that answer, so.
Yeah.
And either you or your friend, I think, hadn't been to a show before?
No, neither one of us have.
Wow.
And, and so you got a little one.
You said you have like, what, a six and a half month old or something?
He is five months old.
Oh, dang.
Yeah.
So that's barely even, that's just kind of, he's just kind of milling around.
Yeah, he's.
That's barely a lot.
That's kind of loitering.
He's really calling out or anything.
Yeah, that's, that's kind of loitering on earth.
He just kind of, he just got here.
Yes.
Yeah.
February 2nd.
Oh, that's cool.
And so what does he like to do?
Have you noticed any like, uh, anything that he's kind of particular about yet?
Um, he loves tummy time.
He loves to look at himself in the mirror and he kind of just likes everything,
especially
things that aren't toys like remotes and phones and hangers.
That's so nice.
And, um, and as, as being a mom, has it been like, has it been kind of what you
expected?
Like what's been something that you didn't kind of expect?
I honestly didn't expect for it to be as easy and to come as naturally as I
thought it would.
Yeah.
Um, I, the, probably the first week and a half of it was the hardest, just
getting used to
the sleep schedule.
But then after that, it was, it's just been great.
Oh, that's cool.
Yeah.
Is it nice to just have like a little tea?
You got a little teammate.
Yes.
Yeah.
Oh, that's cool.
And does he get excited whenever he sees you in the morning and stuff?
Yes.
And we co-sleep, which I know is sometimes looked down upon, but, um.
Oh, I don't mind that if you're serving up a little breast milk, a little bee
milk or some
ice cream or something.
I'll sleep with anybody if they got a little dish of ice cream.
Um, but yeah, it was so sweet of you to come out and, uh, and who is the person
who nominated
you?
Um, his name's Brian Wright.
I think you met him at the, your next show.
Oh, that's right.
Him and his, uh, girlfriend.
I did.
I certainly did.
Um, and how do you know him?
I used to live in Edmond, Oklahoma city and his, well, I guess now fiance, me
and her were
best friends.
And then when her and Brian started dating, like we all three just became kind
of best friends.
So yeah.
Well, that was nice that he thought of you.
I know.
I had no idea until the day of, and he told me that he did that.
And yeah, they're really sweet, very generous and thoughtful.
Yeah.
You know, it's so funny.
A lot of the people that come out to the shows I've noticed are just, just a
lot of
nice people.
Um, you know, it's fun.
It's just crazy how through like podcasting and comedy, I've gotten to meet so
many nice
people that I probably never would have met.
Oh yeah.
I bet.
Yeah.
It's been interesting.
I mean, honestly, like, I don't really know any comedic.
I've never like really had a favorite comedian or anything.
I only knew of like Amy Schumer and I never heard of you, but I was, you were
very funny.
Oh, thank you.
Well, that's sweet of you to say.
And they told me they were, that you were their favorite comedian.
So.
Oh, nice.
So I got three people that care.
That's a good start.
Yeah.
Look, as long as they have, there's a guy named Chris Daly.
As long as you're not into this guy, you're going to be fine.
He's a comedian or he's, I don't know what he is.
He's like a rapper or something.
But we wanted to do something nice for you and just send you just like a little
gift just
to help out with some, whatever mom stuff that you might need.
Like, you know, I don't know, diapers or maybe a little bit of, you know, if
your boy likes
a little bit of special yogurt or something, get him a couple of canisters on
us, you know?
Yeah.
Thank you.
Oh, you're more than welcome.
Yeah.
It's, you know, I was raised by a single mom or, and, and I don't know all your
circumstances
or anything about it at all, but, but I know sometimes that I wish when I was
younger that
I could have helped my mom out more.
And, and so this is just a neat way for me to be able to do that a little bit
now.
And not even just me, our whole podcast, like it's just something that, I don't
know, we've
just kind of gotten into and, you know, it's just been fun.
So, but anyhow, uh, yeah, we just wanted to say, Hey, and thanks so much for,
uh, for coming
out and what's your little fellow's name?
His name is Houston.
Yeah.
That sounds like a real man's name right there.
Yeah, I know.
It was my uncle's middle name.
So.
Oh, that's a dope name.
I've never even heard it before for somebody's first name.
Yeah.
Well, thank you.
He's one of a kind already, huh?
Yes.
Well, you guys have a nice evening, Leah.
And, uh, and thanks for taking our call.
No, no problem.
Um, thank you so much for everything.
Oh, you're more than welcome.
And, uh, and you and Houston have a good evening.
We will.
Thank you so much.
Okay.
Bye-bye.
Dang little Houston, bro.
Tommy time, you know, whatever.
What else is he getting?
A little hit of yogurt or something?
Dude, I should have been an infant.
I should have been an infant, bro.
And you guys will remember Julie.
Uh, this was the first single mom's night out that we ever did.
And, um, here's just a, a moment of that.
What's up, ladies, huh?
How are the single ladies doing good?
Good.
Thank you guys for joining us tonight.
Thank you for having us.
Dang, y'all look, y'all look nice, huh?
Wow.
Yeah, thank you for coming.
Yeah, it's strong.
You're welcome.
Is this your friend?
Yeah, I'm Valerie.
Valerie.
Theo, nice to see you.
We have dinner set up for you guys, um, in the steakhouse here.
And then we have, oh yeah, we got money for babysitter and money to gamble for
you and your friend.
Thank you so much.
You're very welcome.
And, um, oh, you get to pick out your table so you can pick out, or seats,
wherever you want to sit.
Ten.
Ten it is.
Ten it is.
Um, awesome.
Let's check in with Julie right here.
Hello.
Hey, Julie, what up?
It's Theo.
Hey, how are you?
I'm doing good.
I was just looking again at the pictures you sent me of, uh, of your dad from
his visit.
Isn't that great?
And your dad, yeah, he seemed like he came out of a time capsule, huh?
Oh my gosh.
He lives, um, up in the mountains near Pikes Peak.
If you go to Colorado Springs and head west, uh, there's a town called Woodland
in a little town called Lake George.
And my dad is 50 minutes up into the mountains living off the grid.
And he's got a big picture window in his cabin and sees Pikes Peak out the
window.
Oh, that's beautiful.
And he is like, no electricity, um, no plumbing.
Um, he lives off, you know, calling water in and car batteries, solar panels.
And the funny thing about all that is, and he barters, that's how he gets what
he needs is he trades.
So he, he's got, he's got like this workshop.
It's a metal workshop out there and he'll go into town and say he, um, has a
case of golf balls that he picked up somewhere.
And he'll go into town and trade, and trade.
So he'll trade him.
So if he needs like a, a case of beer steins, cause you know, he drinks a lot
of beer.
Oh yeah.
If you don't have electricity, you got to have beer.
I think you can't have, yeah, you got to have one or the other.
Yeah.
So he'll trade those golf balls in.
Oh, definitely for a handful of shampoo.
It's like prison almost.
What's going on?
How's your son doing?
He's doing well.
We were just having a blast this summer.
We're not really, we went down to hot springs and did the whole crystal dig and
everything
and came back with some pretty good specimens, but it was more than fun.
And I just love the fact that I can get equally dirty as I can clean.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You were, you really cleaned up well when I, when I saw you in, uh, in Tulsa, I
was like,
dang, Julie's out here really shined up.
You know, they found a real, yeah, they found a real diamond in the hot, in the
dirt over
in hot springs.
They really, you really shined up well.
Well, thank you.
I appreciate that.
It's funny.
Cause when you came out, yeah, when I saw you again, I was like excited to see
you.
I felt, uh, I was like, Oh, Julie's doing great.
That's what I felt like.
Right.
When I saw you, I said, she's doing awesome.
Um, yeah.
And you also seem like, yeah, she's real cool.
I didn't realize you were kind of so cool.
Um, because we'd never even hung out with a single mom before last time or, you
know,
even kind of like, we're still kind of figuring out what the plan was.
And, and we didn't even really get to hang out that much this time when we got
to chat
backstage.
You gave me that book on sexual knowledge from the 1700s or whatever, which is,
I'm going
to have to break out a few chapters on the air, I think in the next couple of
weeks.
Um, but I was like, Oh, she's, she's like one of the coolest chicks I know.
That's what I felt like.
I felt like I have somebody out there if I need somebody and, uh, and that
somebody is
you.
And so, you know, yeah, I felt, I don't know.
Yeah.
I feel like we're kind of similar people in some ways, you know, on behalf of
our, our
podcast, we want to, uh, just, you know, do something nice and help out with
some, you
know, just a, just a little gift to do something fun with the kiddo this summer.
And, you know, I know, I know you're young fellows growing up and, um, and I
think it's
cool.
You take such an active role.
And even I just see it in the pictures you sent me and, and past conversations
that we've
had and texting and stuff.
And it's just, uh, yeah, it's just nice.
You know, when I think about, you know, I don't have a lot of memories of fun
stuff with
my mom.
I still hope to make some in my future, but you know, it's just, it's just fun.
It's cool.
I think your son's definitely lucky to have such a cool mom, you know?
Yeah.
Well, I'm like you, I know what I didn't have growing up and I want to be what
I wanted
for my son.
And, um, uh, you know what it's, it's having the time with my dad, I've told
him, I said,
move to Arkansas.
I'll take care of you.
I just want you near me.
It's like, I still long to have my dad.
Right.
And, um, it's just interesting how things change over time.
Hey, I was also going to tell, I saw a picture of your mom and you saw a
picture of my dad.
Oh yeah.
They might be a little tape.
They could be a pair, huh?
You think they could be a pair?
I told my dad, I said, dad, I need for you to meet Mrs. G.
Mrs. G, right?
Uh, yeah.
Mrs. Gina.
Mrs. Gina.
She can move up to the mountains with my dad.
And he says, well, does she do windows?
Does I need my cabin windows?
She does do windows actually.
She used to make me, uh, do a, yeah.
She used to make me go wash the car with her every weekend.
And man, we clean the inside of those windows so many times and the outside.
That's all she does, man.
You might never even, she might not even sleep.
I don't know.
I think she might just do windows.
Well, um, well, I hope you have a good time.
Um, you know, the rest of this summer and it sounds like you guys are.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We've got, yeah, we've got full plans this, this week.
We're not doing any camps, but next week we've got goalkeepers that are going
to learn
how to be a goalkeeper and probably some Lego camp stuff going on too.
So we're going to be busy and school starts August 12th, which is insane.
Oh, wow.
It's coming up quick.
And, uh, and thank you for, for, uh, being a part of our lives, Julie.
And, uh, I'll be in touch.
Okay.
Sounds good.
Theo.
Take care.
All right, sweetheart.
Have a good one.
Okay.
You too.
Bye.
Bye.
Okay.
Bye.
And also if you have a single mom that you'd like to nominate, we have, uh, San
Francisco
coming up at the end of July and we would love to do something special, uh, for,
for some
single moms in that area.
And you can hit the hotline nine, eight, five, six, six, four, nine, five, zero,
three.
And, um, and nominate them.
Maybe you don't tell them yet just in case, like, cause sometimes it's
logistics.
We can't get the mom we want, or, you know, the first one doesn't work out or
whatever.
Uh, we just don't want to get somebody's hopes up.
Um, but, but, um, but we'll try our best.
Uh, and, and thank you guys always for the submissions.
Um, and, um, you guys, uh, be good, be good to yourself.
Have a good one.
I'll talk to you later.
I don't know why I'm still talking.
I'm just floating on the breeze, and I feel I'm falling like these leaves.
I must be cornerstone.
Oh, but when I reach that ground, I'll share this peace of mind.
I find I can feel it in my bones.
But it's gonna take a little time for me to set that parking brake and let
myself unwind.
Shine that light on me.
I'll sit and tell you my stories.
Shine on me.
And I will find a song.
I will sing it just for you.
And now I've been moving way too fast on the runaway.

Yeah.
Well, I'm like you, I know what I didn't have growing up and I want to be what
I wanted
for my son.
And, um, uh, you know what it's, it's having the time with my dad, I've to
