SARAH JESSICA PARKER Talks Sex & The City, Hollywood Relationships, New Pope

Um, even though obviously you are Carrie, are there any, which character do you
identify the most with?
Okay, let's hear it.
Um...
Steve.
Yes.
Really?
Yes.
I'm a Steve, too.
Yeah, I'm a Steve.
A half-burger, half-Steve.
We're like the same person.
I know, isn't it?
I'm not surprised to discover that.
Do you know...
Oh!
Welcome back to The Adam Friedland Show.
I'd like to ask you for a minute of your time.
As many of you know, the objective of our program is to make a weekly
television show that isn't
funded by networks or by studios.
And in order to do so, we've had to reinvent the wheel a little bit.
For about three and a half months prior to the launch of this season, we went
into pre-production.
I hired a pretty sizable staff, many of whom are paid, many of whom are even
women.
In order to fund that for three and a half months, I spent money.
I spent money out of my own savings.
I spent about $154,000, which as a Jewish person is scary.
If you don't believe me, I'll call my business manager who can confirm this.
- Hey, hey. - What's up?
Yo, hi.
- What's up? - Hi.
- Hey, hey.
- Oh, what are you up to?
- Oh, I'm just... - Okay, anyway.
- I'm out. - I'm out.
- What, what, what, what? - Quick question.
What's that? - How much money have we spent thus far out of pocket?
- Oh man, give me one sec. One sec. Hold on, I'm out. So let me just check my...
- Nice, brother. - One sec. Sorry. Beep boop. Beep boop. Beep boop. Beep boop.
Yeah. Oh, so we spent $144,000.
- Great. Thank you so much. So here's where you come in. I'm announcing our new
premium membership
service here on youtube.com. It brings me great pleasure to present to you the
Friedland
Family Foundation. What is that? Well, there are three tiers. The basic tier is
Adam's friends.
That's me and it's Richard Kahn. And that's Adam's best friend, the middle tier.
And Chet,
that was Chet. And Adam's family. So what does that get you? For the first tier,
the basic
tier, the friend tier, you'll get early access to every episode days before it's
released to
the general public. You'll also get additional bonus content. It's a little bit
too hot for
the normies, you know, the gen pop. You'll get discounts on merch and loyal,
whatever loyalty
badges is, you'll be getting that as well. For the second tier, Adam's best
friends, you'll
get your name in the credit, but, but it'll be smaller and all the other stuff.
And then
for family, you get your name in the credits, but big and all that other crap.
So guys, there's
a link in the description right at the top. You click it, you sign up to be a
member. And
if you don't want to, you just watch the show and enjoy it. It's a good show.
It's
going to get better. We're going to do a lot of exciting things. So without
further ado,
Sarah Jessica Parker.
Good evening. And welcome to a very special episode of the Adam Friedland Show.
My guest
this week was the unimpeachably charming Sarah Jessica Parker, one of Hollywood's
most accomplished
actors. Known for her grace and unpretentiousness, this interview was meant to
be a major accomplishment
in both of our careers. Instead, it was an unmitigated disaster. To explain
further, we'll have to
travel back in time. May 8th, 2025.
It was another normal day here at Tafts. Another celebrity walks in, takes
their seat, and is treated
to one of the greatest conversations of their entire lives. But this time,
something was
different. The twist? A dribbling mass of mucus, otherwise known as a booger,
crawling its
way out of my nose, presenting itself to one of the world's most famous actresses.
Upon reviewing
the footage, I was mortified. My biggest guest appearance to date, ruined by an
uncontrolled
bodily excretion. My first thought was to stage a coverup, to hide the truth
from a public that
might not be ready to see it. I spoke to an expert in visual effects, who
explained that
we could use an artificial intelligence program to create a three-dimensional
digital clone
of my face, and replace the part of my lip that was sullied by the booger. But
upon hearing
the price, I realized something. That the backbone of this program is the trust
my viewers have
in me. The trust in my dogged pursuit of the truth. And I wasn't willing to
violate that trust
over a big green dripping booger.
Now, I've made a lot of enemies in the short time I've hosted this show. Right-wing
nutjobs,
the media establishment. Simply put, they want me gone. I represent a threat to
their status.
Perhaps they sent a saboteur into my studio, disguised as a janitor, or perhaps
vagrant to disperse allergens.
Perhaps they held blackmail on someone I'm close to, someone I love, and
threatened them into slipping me some sort of decongestant that made boogers
come out.
Perhaps I've even inserted a double agent into my crew, who spent months
earning my trust just to stab me in the back.
The truth is, we'll never know. And frankly, it doesn't matter. I cannot and I
will not be intimidated.
I cannot be discouraged. I could've urinated. I could've even defecated in my
pants during this interview, and I would still release it.
Because the truth is, there has never been a more important time to release an
interview with Sarah Jessica Parker,
who stars in the new season of "And Just Like That," now out on HBO Max. Ladies
and gentlemen, we'll be right back.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Ladies and gentlemen, our next guest, I don't have to
give the CV, everyone, it's Sarah Jessica Parker. Give it up for her.
Sarah Jessica Parker: From girls just want to have fun, Sarah Jessica Parker.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Can I come view my loud?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh, you have my permission.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I don't know what the rules are.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Wow, I don't know. Wow, this is amazing. What is that? It's
a mess here?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Fluff.
Sarah Jessica Parker: You signed your texts to me when I was trying to trick
you into this.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Book this?
Sarah Jessica Parker: I wouldn't say book, I'd say trick. You signed it mom.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yes. Well, hadn't I been referred to as mom in the
introduction,
Sarah Jessica Parker: but previous exchanges of which I became privy to.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, but you could, I mean, if you want.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I thought it was funny. I think you referred to me.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh, I said hi mom.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, so then I responded in kind.
Sarah Jessica Parker: You're such a cool mom.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Love mom or warmly mom or stay safe mom.
Sarah Jessica Parker: You're a massive fan of this?
Sarah Jessica Parker: I love, I love your show.
Sarah Jessica Parker: How the fuck is that part? I'm sorry.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I know you don't like cursing.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I don't think I'm alone.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Who else?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh, well, I've assumed that there are, there are many.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Like Obama?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Do you want me to, Obama? Perhaps.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I feel like I'm sitting with the president of women.
Sarah Jessica Parker: What?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Whether you like it or not,
Sarah Jessica Parker: you could be a reluctant leader like General Washington,
Sarah Jessica Parker: the father of our country.
Sarah Jessica Parker: The father of our country.
Sarah Jessica Parker: You don't have to,
Sarah Jessica Parker: you don't have to accept that title,
Sarah Jessica Parker: but I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Well, I think he, you're, that's very generous of you.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Number one girl.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh, Adam, thank you. But that's not true.
Sarah Jessica Parker: But it's very sweet.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I've been performing extensive research,
Sarah Jessica Parker: actually I do for the show.
Sarah Jessica Parker: So I've been watching a ton of interviews with you.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Oh.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And also I was kind of in a,
Sarah Jessica Parker: like a police stakeout outside your house in the West
Village.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Excellent.
Sarah Jessica Parker: So from what you're saying,
Sarah Jessica Parker: it is true.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Like typically you go out,
Sarah Jessica Parker: there's a barrel with a fire in it,
Sarah Jessica Parker: you warm your hands with a.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Correct.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, those are the,
Sarah Jessica Parker: those are the people that you're.
Sarah Jessica Parker: No, I'm part.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, I'm in the community.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I, I, I am, I blend in with your every man.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Well, as, as a fashion icon,
Sarah Jessica Parker: do you think that the barrel with suspenders
is going to come back at any point?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Or like, what do you think about?
Sarah Jessica Parker: I, I didn't even know if it left.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Really?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Did it leave?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Is it not?
Sarah Jessica Parker: It's, it's peculiar.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I feel like that's one of those kind of
Sarah Jessica Parker: timeless pieces.
I feel like any, you, anybody could wear it anytime, any season.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Um, I don't feel like it has a shelf life.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Can you imagine not having any clothes,
Sarah Jessica Parker: but only having a barrel?
Sarah Jessica Parker: It's bizarre, it's a, what leads one to that?
Sarah Jessica Parker: I mean.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, like what was the story that proceeded?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, I lost all my clothes, my job,
Sarah Jessica Parker: but I have this barrel.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And some braces.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And these suspenders.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And the stick and this bindle.
Sarah Jessica Parker: But I, but maybe, um,
Sarah Jessica Parker: maybe the circumstances do make sense.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Uh huh.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Because typically, I think you ride the barrel down rapids.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Correct.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Right?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Over Niagara Falls.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Right.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yes.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And we're like the same person.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I know, isn't it?
Sarah Jessica Parker: I'm not surprised to discover that within the first
Sarah Jessica Parker: I can't believe it.
Sarah Jessica Parker: 40 seconds.
Sarah Jessica Parker: But I can imagine a scenario where,
Sarah Jessica Parker: And this might have been, you know,
Sarah Jessica Parker: the beginning of denim,
Sarah Jessica Parker: the beginning of barrel and suspenders.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Mm-hmm.
Sarah Jessica Parker: The provenance of those things,
Sarah Jessica Parker: once you know, makes sense.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Like it's very possible that a person could find
Sarah Jessica Parker: themselves without clothes at a moving body of water.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Like I could see that, say for instance,
Sarah Jessica Parker: you were getting undressed behind a tree to swim,
Sarah Jessica Parker: to put on your togs.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: In that time that I might say togs or bathing costume.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Then there was, pardon?
Sarah Jessica Parker: Skitool.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Skitool.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Okay.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I think that's the term they used to use.
Sarah Jessica Parker: I'm going to believe you.
Sarah Jessica Parker: The onesie, yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Like the guy with the like barbells and the onesie.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, exactly.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And they were like wool.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Yeah, yeah.
Sarah Jessica Parker: But say that there was an unforeseen incident and you ran.
Sarah Jessica Parker: You were just about to put on your bathing clothing.
Sarah Jessica Parker: Right.
Sarah Jessica Parker: And then there was an i
