Canada doesn't really have any of its own talk shows.
It doesn't, no.
Well, they should have one.
It's up with that, yeah.
But they have like a daily show kind of thing
that Nathan used to be on, no?
They had that.
You ever heard of this guy, George Strombolopoulos?
No.
He's a Canadian legend.
Who is he?
He had a talk show as well.
He's like a swarthy Greek.
Huh?
He's like a swarthy Greek.
He was a Greek.
He was kind of like the alt music interview Canadian.
He was a...
He was a hipster.
Yeah, kind of, yeah.
Oh, cool.
Yeah, Strombolopoulos.
He was like a Kurt Loder kind of guy for Canada?
I don't know Kurt Loder.
Oh, he was at MTV.
Oh, yeah, similar.
But we have Much Music.
Much Music.
He had a program within Much Music called The Wedge.
And it was like cool music.
It was the cool music, yeah.
Sick.
Yeah, it was cool.
Yeah, and you found out about cool stuff?
People shorten his name as Strombo.
Strombo.
Yeah.
It's very Canadian.
He has another segment.
It's an online thing he calls a House of Strombo.
Oh, really?
Yeah.
That's cool.
We're really giving him the plug.
Did you get on the show?
I've done House of Strombo before.
I've met Strombo.
You were hyped on it.
I was.
It's great.
Yeah.
It's almost like, you know, you know who Nardwar is.
Of course.
Well, the Human Serviette.
That's right.
It's kind of a very kinky nickname.
Yeah.
He seems like a very sexless guy, but then he's like, his nickname is like, I
get boogers
sprayed on me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He's amazing.
He's amazing.
It's great.
Yeah.
He's the best.
Legendary.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You did one?
I've done a Nardwar too.
What did he give you?
He gave me a, actually, he gave me something really cool, but I think he took
it back.
Some of the gifts he lets you keep, some he gave me a.
He was a first person's giver.
He got Ian Mackay.
He was a, he was a native first person's giver.
Yeah.
Is that what they call it in Canada?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, you know, he gave me a letter that he had Ian Mackay write me.
Oh, really?
From Minor Threat.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
I used to see him around DC.
I used to live in DC.
Because Minor Threat had a seven inch called Salad Days.
Oh, so you copy.
I had an album called Salad Days.
And so he was like, you're a copycat, Ian Mackay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nardwar was just, yeah.
Nardwar is like he said, you stink.
That's right.
That's mean of him.
I know.
I love Fugazi still.
Yeah.
Nardwar stayed for the whole show, though.
He watched the whole show.
He was really amped.
He seems like such a pure soul.
He was like, oh, it's all ages.
He was so excited that it was an all ages show.
He was very, very pleased by that.
What's his life outside of...
You know, I don't think that the bit ends when the camera's...
Oh, that's him.
I think that's him.
No, that's better.
Yeah, it's cool.
Yeah.
It's not like he's like the camera goes off and he's like beating his staff and
he's like
a nightmare.
I mean, I haven't seen it too much, but I don't think so.
If Nardwar was like a Harvey Weinstein?
Yeah.
I don't think so.
Yeah.
No, it was cool when rappers started doing it because they'd go like alt comedy.
Yeah.
Rappers would always do a bit, you know?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It was great.
