I want to do two things yes sir first of all tell me about your relationship
with Joan Rivers I
understand she we were married for 30 years no no Joan was actually a huge
champion of mine way
before anyone else how so knew who I was I did a pilot with Joan a talk show
pilot my first TV gig
for Bravo it didn't get picked up but it was supposed to be like the view but
instead of
Barbara Walters and four different types of women it was gonna be Joan and four
different types of
gay guys right okay not a bad idea except then we realized there aren't four
different types of gay
guys so that show was never gonna work Dave that's not true is it is that true
no no it's not it's not
true well and then you used to do a live talk show I did a live talk show was
it a daily thing or did
you do it once a week I would do it once a month at various small comedy
theaters around New York
and what happened I would come out I would do a monologue yeah it was my own
weird twisted version
of what you do and Joan was my first celebrity guest on the show up until then
it had been friends of
mine no one knew who we were who I was and Joan came to see it and she loved it
and she kept coming
to see it and here's a fun little full circle story okay a few years ago when
Joan came to do your show for
the first time in a long time it had been like 27 years that was it's a big
moment for her to come
do your show she called me up the night before and she said drop off DVDs of
your YouTube videos and
I'm gonna drop them off with all the segment producers at Letterman because
they need to see
you and they should have you on and you know well I'm glad I'm glad I'm glad
you're on yes yes I I
am glad since then I'm sorry for the delay but since then I've seen I've seen
uh the show uh many
different elements from the show yes and it's one of those things where I can't
get enough so now the
second thing of the evening I want to I want you to uh well let's play a game
and you scream at me and
stuff okay all right you've really whittled it down in a nutshell that's what
that's what we want yes
yes I want to play this game with you okay this is a Billy on the street game
okay are you ready now
is there like on that one there was no time limit was there not on that but on
this one there's going
to be on some some of the shows do you have actual time yes we do on certain
games okay and on this
game we do have a time limit okay we're gonna put 30 seconds on the clock but
let me describe to you
what this game is this game is a game called celebrity child or Kentucky Derby
winner I'm
gonna give you a name these are all real names I'm gonna give you a name Dave
you have to tell me if
it's the name of a celebrity's child or the name of a real Kentucky Derby
winner not as a child actor
a son or daughter of a celebrity of a celebrity so what they named their child
or what someone named a
horse okay in the Kentucky Derby I'm very excited okay you guys ready for this
yeah we're ready okay now for
everyone for everyone that you get right you are going to win a dollar yeah and
I'm so glad I'm giving
this money to someone who needs it Dave okay put 30 seconds on the clock please

that's great
thank you
all right guys that's Derby Rudd is Paul Rudd's child
you know uh the the bit and we'll make sure that these uh $18 go to charity yes
the best part of that is when you scream at me that that was that was the
absolute most fun
of the little quiz well thank you I'm glad you enjoyed it now how do you how do
you come up with
a new a category for each one of these because you have to do your show and
your show is a half an hour
long yes yeah how do you how do you come up with a i saw one that was really
very involved and he ended
up at some carnival on a tilt-a-whirl yes our merrill go-round that's right the
merrill that was our
merrill streep themed obstacle course yes as one has to do if they have a tv
show dave
yeah but uh do you have a big staff coming up with that it's me and a small
group of writers
uh my friend julie klausner and other people we come up with these games we
have a ton of games
we have celebrities who come on the show we had amy polar come on we played a
game with her called
that's not pitbull it's amy polar and we put her in a mask of the singer pitbull
and i dragged her
around new york and i went up to people and i said it's pitbull and they said
huh and i said no that's
not pitbull it's amy polar yeah and she revealed herself and they got excited
they didn't care you
know but that's hardly a that's hardly a game i don't want to nitpick but that's
not really a
contest you know what don't nitpick it's a game dave i want to play some more
do you have any more
things you can oh god i just like being yelled at i can't even wow that's
fascinating it was so
exciting we play a game on the show called dead or boring dead or boring right
where i give you a
celebrity and you have to tell me if they're dead or i think they're boring
yeah any off the top of
your head um buddy holly dead yes correct elvis presley dead yes correct tupac
dead yes correct uh
heidi montag
boring yes correct correct so you win dead or boring dave that's how you play
dead or boring oh my god
i wish i wish this was my show well it's not i know you had your turn give
someone else a shot but
i i want to do that to people well you have to come on my show you have to run
around the street with
me all right you love running around new york yes i do uh and where where do
they see this billy on the
street where can you dial it up where do you see that it's also on the street.com
but if you want to
watch it on traditional tv where do you yes it's on the fuse cable network is
that where it is yes
