did you see meryl streep yeah she went bitch crazy in the elevator
she was like really good at it i was like that is like award-winning bitch
crazy yeah that's
fantastic well what a lovely treat for all of us uh it's so nice to see you so
nice to meet you i
have seen you such an honor so many places in so many different things and i'm
always captured
by just how funny an actress you are that's a nice thing thanks steve you're uh
from australia is that
right yeah i was um born in the bush now another way of saying this perhaps
would have been outback
oh yeah yeah is the outback the same as the bush down under but that's kind of
rude too
yes all right outback
and your name uh rebel uh chosen yeah why um well my dad was the leader of a
bikey gang
no joking oh no a little girl called rebel sang at my parents wedding and that's
where they got the
name from and because my mom um is a dog show and breeds dogs she likes to have
themed names um so my
got two sisters liberty and anarchy and my brother's called riot yeah wait a
minute rebel riot liberty and
anarchy yeah good heavens that's unusual yeah i was like lucky i became an
actress
yeah uh and and uh what was where in australia um from sydney the western
suburbs which is kind of like
the real ghetto area but but but it's not uh out in the middle of the continent
where it really is bush and outback is it
semi-rural semi-rural when my family bought their house there it came with a
free donkey
it was legit no it didn't it did not know it didn't come with a free donkey
it did and then the donkey like we're trying to sleep and the donkey's going
and we had to like give it to someone who i think killed it
i know i know nothing about australian real estate
but was the donkey the make or break in that deal
throw in the donkey we got a deal is that how that worked it probably was
yeah
uh and and then you uh how did you get to the united states well first of all
what what tv kind
of stuff and film stuff did you do in australia um well like i was on lots of
tv shows
um you know just strutting around
um and they didn't really have big movies in australia so i knew like i had to
come to america
america now uh when i say the words little britain
yes that that's you in that show no that's actually my housemate matt lucas
you're not in there at all we just look very similar
but we're actually two separate people but uh we're both hilarious a lot of
people say that
they actually their first question is oh are you guys married and then their
second question is when
we say no they're like are you brother or sister which is just a strange
strange yeah that that would
be the second thing to go to yeah yeah all right all right well well tell me
how i know you
um i was in a smash it movie called pitch perfect that's uh singing yeah we
just made a second one of that
oh i saw that i did see that yeah yeah where else did i see you do you watch a
lot of no i was just
joking all right stop it stop that i was just joking what is wrong with you oh
my gosh yeah
i do like proper movies yeah yeah family movies like night at the museum three
yeah that's right
coming up yeah coming up um 19. i know you play a uh a security guard a watch
woman at the british
museum yeah um and it was pretty fun filming that movie i got to share a
trailer with the monkey
um her name's crystal crystal the monkey a little bit arrogant what kind of
monkey now monkey is sort
of a generic term but they're all kind of capuchin monkey i think that might be
the technical phrase
well-behaved animal yeah um so a lot of people want photos because she's very
cute
and um i saw a lot of people getting photos with her and i'm like i'll just
wait because
what if she poops on my outfit um and so i finished the scene and then i'm like
oh um would i be able
to have a photo with crystal and her bodyguard said no crystal is preparing for
her next scene
and she was just sitting there going
but you know we had our dramas but then by the end of the shoot me and crystal
were like best
bonded yeah yeah like michael jackson hadn't done that weird thing with having
a monkey i would have
like wanted a monkey we have a picture of you and them is this you and the
monkey here oh yeah what a
turkey is the monkey is dressed as a turkey yeah it was for a special um thanksgiving
skit that we did
for the movie but why can't you just get a damn turkey that's a good point it's
a great pleasure meeting
you oh thanks so nice to have you here and good luck to you i i see a long
bright future for you
yeah yeah good all right
you
