hi i'm barbara gaines welcome to our little thing that we do here oh it's not a
podcast and this is
my good friend dave letterman hi barbara thank you for having me back this is a
rare treat for me and
i appreciate it because i know you have other people scheduled and so i'll try
to keep my
remarks brief i don't have anyone else all right okay uh so anyway i i uh heard
that you may have
some new photos to show oh uh uh let me just say uh mary who is typically with
you i i don't know is
mary on the podcast or just the other show uh well i don't know it's not a
whatever i don't know she's
uh presently at burning man oh burning man wow that's yeah that's where she is
having having a
great time making a lot of her van out yeah she did right well that's great so
yes uh do you have
uh something you'd like to show this first one oh well let me preface this
first one as as you know
uh i have uh and i i don't want to overstate this but i have spotted um my fair
share of unidentified
flying objects i think you know i think i've shared them with you on your other
show and the the response
has been incredible and recently there was a hearing a congressional hearing
about uh ufos in washington
which i testified and maybe you saw part of it on c-span uh and it lasted two
and a half days people
uh the people i talked to i mean it was fun for me it was fun so that when i
was finished and got back
to my home after testifying uh i saw this above my home that's a fleet of uh i
uh suspicioned that those
are probably uh from those are probably martians and i i think they were
signaling me uh by way of support
so so it's the fleet saying go get him dave nice job yeah nice job huh this you
may have to look into
this oh i have looked into it maybe you should look into it ah all right did
you know i was going to be
on today yeah you're the only person i have on oh um look at this picture yeah
this picture's amazing
that does it seem to you this is by no means criticism but do you see it seems
to me like i'm
guesting and hosting well you know you're a better host than i am you've had
how did you get the dang
podcast how did i i wonder myself all right let's not get petulant oh sorry
yeah look at how what a
beautiful day this was this was right after a rip-roaring spring storm had
ripped through uh new york the
tri-state area and uh it let it cleared the air and left big puffy cumulus
clouds and there is the lower
portion of manhattan and i just thought wow that's uh uh just glorious i took
this with my drone
that's a drone shot no did you really yeah oh i don't know don't you get notes
for your guests
we can't afford a segment producer oh okay um but you can afford me yeah oh
yeah that makes no sense
that really makes no sense yeah speaking of drones take a look at this one well
i i i thought you took
it from this next photo from this plane oh no this plane i think is something
called an sp standard it's
an old uh world war one era biplane that i rode in last fall and look at this
shirt see that shirt yeah
nice and and they put on on the weekends air shows if you go up there on the
weekends and tell them
dave sent you you get this shirt free i i bet you shouldn't do that you tell
them you make a call uh but
it's it's glorious and uh i took a ride in the that uh biplane and they take
you up over the beautiful
countryside and you look into the catskills and you fly over the hudson and
then you make a landing
on this beautiful grass landing strip that's uh still in use as an airfield and
also they've made a
lovely air museum of the place and you should go up there it's a like an easy
trip from new york and
remember uh if you tell them dave sent you this shirt is free uh we have a last
photo this is a
this is a sign you took it's a pretty good sign yeah yeah i i would just say
having taken this photo
it's the one and only time i've taken a photo in the men's room i don't care
what you've heard
it's the one and only time i've taken a photo in the men's room but i thought
this was noteworthy
but if if you take a camera into the men's room just use your head well i think
i think this
this uh makes you feel like you should take a camera into the men's room i i
just it's just one
of those things i've not seen uh a sign like that in my life first of all 1920s
technology what is that
gravity i think that's what that is yeah got it yeah yeah so it's a lovely day
trip you should go
up there that's very nice dave sent me right it's like a staycation right this
is a good tip for our
many viewers
okay anyway uh that's it for today's well now wait a minute i have one more
thing oh okay yes
well no no i hate when you do that what do you mean you hate when i do that it's
your summer no
haircut that's right and it this is a sure sign that it's summer summer is a
couple of weeks away but it
it makes you look bald i am bald i know that's what's i don't like yeah but you
know people would pay
money to do this because it feels so good oh it's fuzzy if i was with you i
would ask if i could write
on it write on it no that's that's ageist that's uh elder abuse oh sorry yeah
they knocked an old
man down and wrote on his skull i don't like the sound of that i wouldn't knock
you down i'd ask permission
anyway well i just want to say if mary's out there at burning man watching you
know have fun i mean i
know you don't need me but hey anyway thanks for coming and see you soon okay
thank you good night
bye your barber is regis yeah that's right i'm like you're regis i'm on all the
time
i'm tired of it you can't just use me like this
