uh our next guest is the host of his uh very own late night uh television talk
show called
the john stewart show ladies and gentlemen please give a a nice warm welcome to
self-said
same john stewart here he is john how are you i'm doing real good thank you
thank you for having me
well thank you very much for being on the program i have to tell you this is in
fact my favorite
talk show no no you can't be serious about that well that's very nice of you i
don't even watch
mine i go home and i watch you watch your show i don't even know what time i'm
on dave it's
it's after top cops or something i don't even know anyway uh congratulations on
the success
of the show i understand it's going very very well for you and good for you
because there's a lot of
hard work and uh too much hard you're doing a great job thank you very much i
appreciate that and we
have some kennedy jokes by the way back at our vault if you'd like what kind of
stuff do you have oh just
the typical um i just i personally the drinking stuff i i never even knew about
him i just look
at him and think what an enormous head that's what i think it's just not in a
bad not necessarily in
a bad way no not in a bad way no it just it doesn't look like a head it looks
like a container for a
head or uh you know i feel bad for him i wish i'd had that earlier oh please i'll
write it up for
you do it tomorrow night no one will know i just i feel bad for him being the
only kennedy brother that
never got to you know sleep with marilyn monroe i think that's across the back
well don't you do you
think they still kid him about that hell maybe i was thinking weekends in hyannisport
you know
schwarzenegger yelling at him from the living room just uh daddy come in here
some like it hot is on
television shut up shut up you know you do it you do a pretty good schwarzenegger
stop it's my forte
schwarzenegger uh you know steffy graff was here has she been on your show she's
lovely she has not
man we have gabriella sabatini but she she's wonderful steffy graff are you
athletic yourself
no i jazzercise every now and again i'll have half a melon and jazzercise you
can certainly tell
oh thank you very much i feel great it's a dick dale original i'm wearing so uh
i feel very good
um i don't i did i have uh mc'd athletic events this summer i had the uh the
distinct pleasure of
emceeing the model olympics at the beach it's like the olympics but with models
sure so it's boy it's
emceeing that it's the show business equivalent to being kirk cameron's spotter
at circus of the stars
you know what i mean it's it's a coveted gig it's a very coveted gig it's just
odd you feel bad about
yourself because they're it's show business oh yeah models yeah yeah i was i
showered with my clothes
on the whole weekend i couldn't look at myself in the mirror but they were uh
they were nice my only
hope of scoring with the models was uh maybe the girls would get really drunk
and think i was seinfeld
you know does that does that happen much do you get any of that i believe me
bars at night
i walk what is the deal with these thongs you know the whole thing i would hit
that
as hard as i can take a shot whatever you can do you have to take a shot
whenever you can what other
kind of stuff do you participate in like that benefits things like whenever i
get a chance stuff
you know you and regis turn down i'll uh jump on and uh i'll see uh you know
wait a minute i don't
think regis turns down anything that's very true i did about you would have
loved this benefit i went
out to california and it was this old show business kind of benefit and i
performed with uh it was carol
channing uh ann miller from sugar babies and me so i i felt out of place it was
like one of those
quantum leap episodes where you know i thought i'd look into the mirror and go
oh my god i'm ginger
rogers you know something like that but it was a very much of this old show
business environment
and the makeup woman that was working at the benefit had been at this studio
for years and years and
when you get made up she would give you scandalous gossip but from the 40s you
know
you'd be getting made up and she would you know look around and then lean over
and go
clock gable is an incorrigible flirt you know donald o'connor has eczema you
know that kind of stuff
but it was uh it was joyous you know a lot of fun uh you you had um you had
some kind of uh trouble at
your house uh kind of something dramatic occurred for you somewhat dramatic not
necessarily for me
i had my cat neutered last week oh yeah no not for you then no i think oh the
cat is enduring the
drama exactly i had to i got tired of his constant bragging you know how it is
with cats
i uh he got i took him to get neutered i don't i'm not trying to you know upset
animal rights
activists or anything or bob barker who's a tremendous animal rights activist
who i once
heard bob barker say in an interview i'm trying to protect the dignity of all
creatures that's good
and i just thought you're the host of the price is right
something in there yeah
once again john congratulations i'm glad the show is going so well for you and
i really appreciate you
coming over here and saying hello to us tonight absolutely great fun to have
you thanks very
much ladies and gentlemen john stewart right here
