Hi, everybody. I'm Mary Barkley. I'm here today with Dave Letterman. How's it
going, Dave?
Hi, Barbara. Thank you very much for having me. It's going quite well. How are
you?
I'm good. Thanks for being here.
Now, let me ask you a question. It's been hot where I am right now. Yesterday,
103.
Yeah.
Now, when you hear so much talk about the people yakking about the climate
change and the global
warming, is that related or not?
Yeah, I think so. Yeah. That's what we've learned, right?
It's all related. What are we going to do about it?
About the climate crisis?
Yeah.
Well, I've switched to short-sleeved shirts.
There you go. Problem solved.
I understand you have some photos for us today.
Thank you for mentioning that. I do have some photos, and I want to share them
with the YouTubers.
The viewing public.
Well, no, the YouTubers. The viewing public can go screw.
Just talking about the YouTubers.
Okay, now here, this is a picture. Look at this. I didn't take this picture.
This was taken in Brooklyn, oddly enough. Look at that. It's like the bison is
waiting for Jesus.
Yeah, that's a beautiful shot. Look at that. The light coming up from behind.
Well composed.
Yeah, that's nice. I wish I took that. A man named Alan O'Borny took that and
gave it to me. Oh, look, this was great fun. I had not done this before. This
is the man that took the bison photo piloting.
Wow, what kind of airplane is that? They call that, this is a triple seven. No,
this is a super cub and big wheels, bigger engine, ailerons in addition to the
flaps and short takeoff and landing. A lot of fun that was. Boy, I had not done
that before. That was great fun.
Now here, this is a kind of a personal photo. This is me. And look at Doggy.
Look at Doggy.
That's a big dog for a lap dog.
Yeah, that's Dutch.
Who is that? Oh, Dutchie.
That's Dutch taking a sleep, taking a nap right there.
How much does that dog weigh? He's a hundred. The big dumb guy. That's pretty
good.
Now here, me and the boys in a car, we're going, going into town for a ride.
Nice. Look at those two. Just a man and his dogs. It's awfully difficult to
drive any kind of car with a dog sitting on the controls.
Now here, now, often with pets, they'll always break your heart. And in this
case, luckily, we found out that one of my dogs needed some medical treatment.
Oh, yeah.
It's because in a random blood test, they said, hmm, this looks a little high.
So we said, okay. So we, anyway, we had to have him attended to.
So here he is getting ready. He had underwent surgery. Underwent surgery.
Poor guy.
Yeah, there he is right there. Look at him.
Oh, boy.
Yeah, he's all set to go.
He is out.
The surgery lasted two hours. He's clean as a whistle, and he couldn't be
happier.
Wow, full recovery.
Yeah, there is full recovery.
Now he's wearing a t-shirt.
Yeah, wearing a t-shirt, which replaces the primordial, the cone, the god-awful
medieval cone.
And that worked in place of a cone?
Yes, it kept his stitches free and clear. And this was done at Colorado State
University, their veterinary school.
And they were just tremendous people. And I wish everyone in the world could
have the same kind of attention that we had for our dog. And much of the
research they do there is also used in the treatment of humans.
So that's kind of a win-win.
A useful program there.
Yes, it is useful. But I had, several years ago, I fell off the top of the
Empire State Building and had that massive surgery.
And I didn't get the kind of treatment for my surgery that the dog got for his
surgery.
Yeah.
And the nice thing about that is they're applying what they know to treating
humans as well.
So, uh, and there, yeah, there he is.
Yeah.
Let's see.
Doggies are great. Very.
Okay. I think that, that may be the end of the photos.
Do you have any photos, Barbara?
No, um, no, I don't have any. I didn't prepare any photos.
Do you want to know what I've been doing this summer?
Yes. Tell me what you've been doing.
I've been, uh, watching Love Island, UK.
Oh, I hear nothing but great things about that.
Yeah, it's really good.
You don't need photos. You can go online and watch.
Yeah.
Have you seen it?
Yes. I enjoy Love Island.
And it's a, uh, it's the, they're on an island.
Yeah.
And they go there and there's a lot of, uh, wild humping.
No, no, no, no.
This is the British Love Island, UK.
They're all.
Well, what am I watching that is a lot of island humping?
I don't know what you're watching.
Uh, but this is a great show.
Yeah.
It's the best show ever.
Right.
It's a bunch of hot, young British people in a villa and they have to couple up.
I'm not describing it well, but it's really great.
So it's just a matter of semantics.
When you say couple up, it's the same as equivalent of wild humping.
No.
Wild Island humping.
They're in a villa.
They have to couple up.
They have to.
Now, what does that mean?
Let's examine that.
They're all single when they go in and then they are paired together and some
couples stay
together and it becomes romantic, some couples break up.
They just sit around, uh, a lot in bathing suits and talk about relationships.
And it's great wild island humping.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's what I've been doing.
So thanks again to the, uh, friendly folks at Colorado State University.
Very lucky to be in their good hands.
And the folks at Love Island, UK wild island humping.
I think that's it for the Barbara Gaines show today.
Thank you, Barbara.
Bye, Barbara.
Come back soon.
