Man, I can hardly wait to see this show.
This, to me, is going to be our best show ever.
Oh, that reminds me of something.
That reminds me of something.
Let me mention the artwork over there on your organ.
Oh, yes.
And I believe tonight, Paul, nicely complemented by your selection of shirts.
Well, I'm glad you appreciate the thematic.
All week long, we have been featuring this oil painting.
It's oil and pencil on canvas.
Paul, we need the gallery music.
Thank you very much.
It's by Richard Tobias, the artist.
It's untitled, 1991.
We titled it the other day, and we called it Afternoon in Queens.
There it is.
That was my favorite Katharine Hepburn movie with Humphrey Bogart.
Man, was that a great movie.
Afternoon in Queens.
They got stuck in the river and got them leeches on them.
Wow, what a powerful film that was.
Oh, I loved it, too.
Huh?
I loved it, too.
Yeah, okay.
The price of this painting is $4,000,
and it's currently on loan to us from the Brook Alexander Gallery
on Worcester Street in Soho.
That's down there on Worcester Street.
Worcester Street in Mansoho.
$4,000.
In the meantime, ladies and gentlemen, let's get right to our viewer mail.
Actual letters from actual viewers.
Here we go.
Letter number one.
Thank you very much.
By the way, that gallery, I don't know if I mentioned this,
is on Worcester Street.
Worcester Street.
Down there in Soho.
Dear Dave, my two favorite words are girth and elasticity.
Here is an example of these words in a sentence.
Haystack wrestled in overalls for the simple reason that because of his girth,
his wrestling trunks had no elasticity.
Do you have any favorite words you like to use?
Mark Hodges, Sand Spring, Oklahoma.
Yes, I do, Mark.
Pinhead.
Pinhead.
Pinhead.
No match.
The board goes back.
Worcester.
Worcester.
Letter number two.
Dear Dave, now that you have dropped that extra 15 pounds
and are sporting a svelte, sleek look,
does this mean we can look forward to seeing you
in an upcoming edition of Foldout of Playgirl magazine?
Ha, ha, ha.
Ah, thank you, sir.
In anticipation, Gwen Johnson and Suzanne Warren, Houston, Texas.
This is a very cute letter.
No, I will not be in the Playgirl,
but you know, I happen to be on the cover
of one of my favorite national magazines.
Here it is right here.
It's Pants World.
Look, I couldn't be more proud.
And it features me with my new thin look.
Look.
What a great cover.
That's right.
I have apparently found something in my pants, too,
from the expression of...
Yikes!
I found the lobsters!
All right, Dave, relax.
I thought I had to, but I didn't, man.
Thank you.
What?
Where is the gallery again?
It's somewhere downtown.
Okay.
Ah!
Letter number three.
Dear Dave, Paul, and Dave.
Well, this is to you and I, Paul.
Dave and Paul.
We had this hamster named Chuck.
One day, we let him out for a little jog
and haven't seen him since.
We were just wondering if you had seen him around,
if so, please tell him that we love him
and we'd like him to come home soon, no hard feelings.
Maybe that's what I found in my pants.
Maybe that's their little hamster, Chuck.
We did see a hamster here, didn't we?
I saw a hamster here.
There was a...
That must have been Chuck.
Paul, did you see the hamster
that was running around here earlier?
The hamster Chuck?
If you find him, let me know.
Boy.
That smells great.
What is that, Paul?
This is a...
It's just a...
It's a small deer.
Oh, okay.
Well, keep an eye out for that hamster.
Yeah.
Yeah, we'll run it down there to Worcester Street.
Letter number four.
Oh, my God.
Is it time for number four already?
Okay.
Remember, ladies and gentlemen,
despite what you may see here in a couple of minutes,
there is a chance you could win money tonight.
Just keep that in mind
as you watch our next little offering.
All right.
Dear Dave, Elvis gave away Cadillacs.
Could you send me a vet?
Thanks, Bob Kenny,
Decatur, Illinois,
a guy with two first names.
Bob, you know,
you know, of course,
that I would love to help you out,
but I'm not Elvis.
I can't give you a car,
but because you were kind enough
to write into the program here,
we have prepared a tribute to Elvis Presley
starring our own Larry Budd Melman.
Larry.
God almighty,
I feel my temperature rising.
Higher, higher,
burning through to my soul.
Your kisses lift me higher
like the sweet song of a choir.
And you light my morning sky
with burning love.
Just a hunk-a-hunk of burning love.
Just a hunk-a-hunk of burning love.
Just a hunk-a-hunk of burning love.
Burning love.
It's been good to your mama.
It gives you a special feeling
about the miracle of life,
doesn't it?
Ladies and gentlemen,
oh, oh, remember,
tonight, you folks in the audience
could win big, valuable cash dollars.
We're going to do a commercial.
John Lovitz will join us.
Come on.
