our next guest is a talented actress she stars in a new film it's called people
like us now you
can go see this one right before you go see the wonderful world of spider-man
it opens june 29th
here's the lovely olivia wilde welcome back to the show thank you for having me
how are you
very well you know summer officially begins i think this week or so and then we
had five
i already got started really as you started what are you doing i just took a
romantic
carriage ride around david letterman park beautiful so good it's quick yeah
quick that's
right it's good though yeah well did you enjoy yourself i loved it that's all
that counts yeah
now will you will you uh will you travel do you go on vacation i already did
well where'd you go uh my
boyfriend and i went to jamaica jamaica what time of year did you go to jamaica
we went a few weeks ago
you know it was it was we got a head start yeah what was it was it uh warmer at
this time
of year in jamaica probably it's about the same i think it's always warm there
yeah what did you do
well we went um you know him by the way you know you know the man himself jason
sudeikis
he works late night he's been on this program he's been in this chair he's been
on yeah from saturday
night live saturday night live he um uh and how long has this been going on
this has been a while
like how long oh like seven months is that long enough to go on vacation with
someone no no it's
fine okay good well this is it's this is our first vacation i mean we've been
to brooklyn but this was
our first you know we had left the island but we we went to jamaica you know
what kind of guy is he
to spend time with honestly he's a he's a great guy very very funny obviously
and um he seems like he
might just be and forgive me i better not say it no no no is he a little dopey
no it seems like he
might be a little you know but i mean in a in a pleasant way no no no no i mean
i think we fancy
ourselves athletic people tough people and so we were in jamaica and we thought
we won't just sit on
the beach all the time we'll go get it done yeah we and i've seen kayaking in
movies and stuff so we
thought we could do that that's that's all it takes really people do that in a
movie yeah you're good to
go so we went out we took out some kayak each and you know he was really good
at getting in his kayak
right away i got bashed in the knees right away and he was great and i was like
babe you're so good
and he's like honey i'm an athlete so now are these uh single man kayaks single
man kayaks so these are
like sea kayaks these are the real deal these are the real deal you gotta be
careful we were warned
against going out it was a choppy windy stormy day but i thought we could do it
anyway and it was about
a mile and a half we had to cross a bay we get to the middle disaster strikes
it's too windy the waves
are too big and it's mayhem and you know i was trying really hard to be in
front since he's made
that athlete comment i had to so i was really you know pushing through and it
got a little too
treacherous and i turned around and jason was gone gone gone and i saw an
upside down kayak and so
i realized that that this had happened and suddenly i realized i was about to
go over
and this went on for quite a while long enough that so he's you're telling us
now he's dead
i thought this was a good time to announce it that's right no no fear not um
but so no he he
resurfaced and we were rescued by a team of fishermen really who were they had
been watching
us with binoculars because i'm sure they were taking bets on who would go down
first but do the
two of you you must have life preservers right oh god no no oh for heaven's sakes
we had nothing but
we find that we got rescued we were both dragged out of our kayaks into the
fishing boat that's
humiliating but thank god thank god you're alive because this is the kind of
thing you read about
all the time people on vacation they never come back i know it was really but
fine you know we got to
shore and and and we got our courage back and we decided to do something safer
so we went out to a
little a little floaty island about 15 feet from shore just to have a relaxing
time and on my way back in
i got stung by a swarm of jellyfish so then i crawled out and i was covered in
welts and jason of course
is still stuck on the floaty island looking at me like i can't get in there
yeah i'm not getting in
right and i was like babe you have to it's the only way you have to swim
through the swarm of jellyfish
so then we were on like it was like a japanese game show you know we were
fighting for honor
and it got really serious so i had to go and get the same rescue team to come
back earlier with a
kayak to get him out of the water and swarm of jellyfish but it's okay we're
okay we're all right
yeah this is this is crazy see what i'm saying and have you ever been on i want
to be on a japanese
game show i do i mean it was like a cross between a japanese game show and a
ben stiller movie we were in
our own personal disaster oh my god hey uh olivia let's look at this uh movie
it opens uh june 29th
people like us uh it's a romantic comedy uh not a romantic comedy a romantic uh
action adventure
dramedy dramedy oh oh so a little serious a little funny yeah just like life
what are we going to see
oh that's right we're going to see a scene where chris pine who plays my
boyfriend is revealing that
he has discovered he has a sister he never knew about and he has found 150 000
cash that he's
supposed to give to her wow that's cool yeah it's very nice yeah and are you
the sister no i'm the
girlfriend elizabeth banks is the sister she's fantastic yeah well so are you i
mean thanks
thanks dave i think you should get the money honestly but thank you people like
