Our next guest is a bona fide country music legend.
She is celebrating her 40th year in this business.
And this is her new CD, Still Country.
Here she is, Loretta Lynn.
Ladies and gentlemen.
Well, they say that I'm a true country
The way I look and sound
They want to make me over just a little more uptown
Say I need to change my image
Now tell me, what's that mean?
Don't they know I've got country in my genes?
Well, I can't help it
The way I talk, I wouldn't change it if I could
Sophisticated, ain't my star, but country fits me good
I ain't ashamed to wear what's been handed down to me
Lord, Lord
Lord, I've got country in my genes
I've got country in my genes
Country in my blood
It goes back generations
It's something I've got parents
It's something I'm proud of
It's something I was born with
What you get is, what you see
I'm just an old hillbilly
With a country song to sing
Lord, I've got country in my genes
Oh, I'll play it out there in your scrubs
Well, country's hit the big time
Me, I'm still the same
I ain't above my raisin
And I ain't about to change
Well, I wouldn't trade my ringlers
For the finest gabardine
Lord, I've got country in my genes
I've got country in my genes
Country in my blood
It goes back generations
It's something I'm proud of
It's something I was born with
What you get is, what you see
I'm an old Kentucky hillbilly
With a country song to sing
Lord, I've got country in my genes
I've got country in my genes
Country in my blood
It goes back generations
It's something I'm proud of
It's something I was born with
What you get is, what you see
I'm an old Kentucky hillbilly
With a country song to sing
Lord, I've got country in my genes
Lord, I've got country in my genes
Yes!
Thank you
Thank you all very much
Thank you
Back then
It's so good to be back home again
Not much left but the floors
Nothing lives here anymore
Except for memories of the coal miners' daughters
Love you all very much
Thank you
Terrific to have you here
Thank you again
My thanks to the lovely Loretta Lynn
And my thanks to the lovely Farrah Fawcett
Have a lovely evening
You are so wonderful
Good night, everybody
Ah!
Ah!
