We're very excited about a little something we've done here for you tonight on
The Late Show.
You know, we're always, we're always thinking.
There is no off position on the Genius Switch.
Wow.
Wow.
Hi.
We're always thinking, always coming up with new ideas, and it occurred to me,
it occurred to Paul, it occurred to all of us,
we haven't really done anything musically in quite a while.
Right.
Paul Schaefer, our very own Paul Schaefer.
Sir.
Former jockey.
By the way, one of the winningest jockeys in the history of Canada.
Thank you for remembering.
Yeah.
Had a good run there for a while.
Paul had a great idea.
He says, why don't you and I, Dave, we'll just go, we're right here on Broadway,
we'll go up and down Broadway,
we'll find somebody, just a guy, just an average kind of like, you know, Joe,
if you will.
We'll go in there, we'll kind of debrief them, we'll take notes on their lives,
and then we'll turn it all over to Paul, his endless talents, and the rest of
the CBS orchestra,
and there they will then put together, produce for this guy, a music video.
That's right.
Excellent idea.
That's right.
That's exactly what we did.
Here, kids, take a look.
Enjoy.
Here's what we're going to do.
We're going to go in there and maybe, like, meet a counter guy, a guy who makes
sandwiches and stirs the soup, that sort of thing.
Going to get to know him a little bit.
Paul's going to make some notes.
Show him your notepad, Paul.
And then, Paul's going to go back to his private office studio and write, like,
a jingle or a theme for the guy.
We'll put it together and he'll have his own personalized video, right?
Simple as that.
Is that?
Hello.
Hi, are you Mo?
Hey, how are you?
Good.
Nice to see you.
Every night.
Yeah.
What do you do?
What do you, what is your?
Slice.
You're a slicer.
Mo is a sandwich slicer.
What's your wife's name?
Seymour.
His wife's name is Seymour.
Strummy is his life, and lovely Seymour is his wife.
All right, so these are the famous people that come into the delicatessen.
Like, Fonzie.
Well, you got, yeah, the Fonz with Ron Howard.
Mo's sandwiches are so tasty.
He never serves a stinker.
He wants to care for snowy for TV's Henry Winkler.
Here now is the world premiere presentation of Mo's video.
Enjoy this.
Mo grew up in a vegetarian household.
But every night he dreamed of slicing meat.
Even when he had a woman by his side
Slicing meat
Was all that was ever on his mind
He got on a bus and headed for New York City
New York, ah
The meat slicing capital of the United States
Meat slicing in the USA
Got a room at the New York Hall for Civil War veterans
And went to find a job at the stage delicatessen
Now the stage deli already had a meat slicing named Jimmy
Got hired the very next day
As Jimmy's replacement
Now he's Mo
