hi i'm barbara gaines welcome to the barbara gaines show this is mary barkley
and our wonderful
friend dave thank you very much barbara very nice to see you hi everybody barbara
pleasure to be here
you know i'll let you in on a little uh inside joke uh whenever i get the call
to come and be
on your show uh my wife and my son always tease me and they say hey dad i
wonder who canceled
you're my tony randall by the way you know i can't stay up but i we have been
tebowing the show
and uh i was watching it the other day it was you and dr ruth westheimer oh my
god she's the best
guest oh you should have her on here uh all the time i mean crack me up i mean
and ouch look out yeah
can't say anything she's saying whoa boy yeah yeah yeah i think she's dead is
she dead i don't think
she is walter check it sorry she's alive oh anyway so the uh your producer uh
asked me if i would read
today's trivia question okay uh and this is a good one where would one find the
world's largest cave
let me repeat it where would one find the world's largest cave and so all you
have to do
if you have the answer is you press the the button and ring the bell and uh if
you if you get the
answer in before we finish up today you get a prize selected especially for you
where would one find the
world like a money prize and does walter know the answer as our producer i
assume i assume he does
i i i know it because i read it on the on the sheet sure yeah did we get like
there's just our our
listeners i think we can guess but we don't get the prize selected especially
for us right the world's
largest cave i was gonna say uh bermuda just to guess even though i know it's
not there australia
there's always weird like giant spiders i i would say uh i would say newark
if there's a big hole anywhere hey hello look out i'm teasing you folks in newark
uh so uh walter you should know the answer so we could uh yeah it's coming in
but you have to have
the answer before the show's finished right all right and that's our show
thanks for watching
but again i don't know do you talk uh what you don't want don't you have any
stories or anything
well i i went away last week and i have this problem with my esophagus so i
went to this
really nice restaurant a beautiful restaurant where answered him you know big
fancy restaurant
what'd you have you know they bring it to you it's one of those five of course
very nice picked right
from the greenhouse to your plate oh yeah what a racket that is it's you know
all green green and nice
stuff they got out of the canal and the canal yeah and and uh i started to feel
kind of hot
well i love this okay so now what happened so i think i don't want to ruin this
let me let me guess
suddenly you pitch face forward into your soup no i think maybe i'll just go
outside and and get a
little air i shouldn't be laughing so i go outside i get a little air and i
discreetly
vomit into someone's empty sorbet cup you mean another diner they had left
their their their area
was it was empty they weren't sitting there so you go to you go to a big time
restaurant in amsterdam and
you vomit yes outside you were outside what was the cause well because i have
this kind of oh you think
you're your esophagus yeah is that the acid reflux yeah i have i've had it
forever and i've and i
you periodically vomit at dinner i never knew that about you oh my god you and
i have had many dinners
together i've never once seen you vomited in the makeup room i vomited in your
dressing room once i
vomited everywhere i just never talk about it do you feel like you might vomit
now no because it's no one
likes to hear the word vomit right but when i said story i didn't think it
would be throwing up oh well
anyway so what happened i came back to the meal and i thought i'm okay we could
finish now except
from you know it's one of those meals things keep coming so i thought i'm done
so you couldn't continue
because of the vomit reflex i just thought i'm done would you get to like like
eight out of
ten courses yeah like that and i'm not a doctor but i think you have a dose of
gastroparesis
is that a real thing yes it's a real thing but i prefaced you know don't don't
think about suing me
i preface by saying i'm not a doctor i felt okay to finish the meal and my but
was there stuff all
splatters all over your it was a nice little delicate it was contained in a sorbet
cup it was
it was contained and it was really i i happen i feel i did it a nice little
woman what did you do with
the cup i brought it to the ladies room lord walked right through the
restaurant with a cup full of
vomit yes i did oh americans yes i did and someone put that on yelp so anyway
my wife already finished
the meal i just said oh no thank you yeah no thank you i'm full yeah so we
finished we go back to our
hotel and then i think oh i'm going again oh my god i'm not going to make it to
the hotel
so right there on the street in amsterdam in my head thinking i don't want to
be some crazy american
too late yeah on the screen you're not the first person to barf in amsterdam by
any stretch don't you
think right i would guess so but still and all i bet it happens so then i was
throwing up in the street
and while i was throwing up in the street uh ari was taking photos of you yes
throwing up in the
street well let's see them oh my god oh my god that's fantastic oh my god that's
you oh and i got
all dressed up that's horrible and i showed this to someone who and the person
i showed it to just said
nice pants and it was like and then splatter and like i said it was a very
green oh my god there it is
barbara very green meal oh my goodness are green okay anyway that's all i got
how long were you in
europe four days and how many countries did you vomit just just amsterdam and
no more vomiting on
the trip well my kind of afternoon was done after that yeah i'm kind of done
now yeah well thanks for
watching happy summer and uh the word vomit would be used so much on this show
yeah who knew and when
i said don't you have a story i thought it'd be oh i had some fun in amsterdam
and we met some people and
we hadn't got on a bike we rode in the canal i didn't know that you'd be puking
your guts up that's
all i have thanks for watching don't forget to subscribe okay if you have a
guest now on today's
trivia ring the bell and press the button to subscribe and you'll receive a
beautiful gift selected especially
for you uh vietnam ah you just gave it away you did give it away what is wrong
with you i thought you
wanted the answer we can cut this out
