You know, you know what's nice about this, Paul? Our crew is back.
Yes! Yes!
Regular crew.
The boys are back.
So this is the first time in about four months.
Was it four months over four months?
Four months, four months, four and a half? Four exactly.
Four and a half months that we've had our normal crew and they're back.
And this is also the first night I haven't come out here and had to do this
because...
I use the retinal damage.
But anyway, we're glad to have everybody back.
The cameras look good.
The lights look great.
The sound is great.
Everything is...
I'm the only thing that stinks now, so...
Al Frisch is back.
I saw Al.
Is Al here tonight?
Where is Al?
Al's not here.
I thought Al...
I saw Al.
What, did he just come in and pick up his final check and...
They let Al go?
No, don't say that.
Did they?
He retired.
Oh, he retired.
Oh, he retired.
One of those GE retirements.
Al is gone?
Yes, Mr. Gotti thinks it's time for you to retire, Al.
Really?
Al is gone?
He's a ghost?
Oh, God.
I saw him like an hour ago.
He looked great!
Well, I don't want to go.
I don't want to.
No, I shouldn't lie to you.
He looked like Al always looked.
Is that right?
Yeah.
Oh, well, that's what a bummer, as the kids say.
It is.
It's a little sparser in here, I've noticed.
Yeah, and now, and now, and now, let me get this straight.
Now, after this bad news, we're supposed to do a great show and entertain these
people?
Well, well, maybe not.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Let's start with this stuff.
No.
They're friends of Al's.
I see.
I didn't realize you were all friends of Al's.
I don't think so, Kevin.
What a show we put together for you folks here on a, it's just another Tuesday
night in America.
And we've put together a wonderful show.
It's fabulous.
Fabulous show.
That's my new word, Paul.
Fabulous.
That's your new word?
That's right.
Here is our good friend, Paul Schaefer, kids.
So, look.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
Al is wrong?
Thank you very much.
Al is wrong?
I know.
I know.
Al, Al is gone, but nonetheless.
Not forgotten.
That is true.
His memory will forever grace the halls here at NBC.
Yes, indeed.
And I'm feeling, you know, well, a little sad.
No, I feel, funny, fabulous is your new word, because I feel fabulous as well.
Well, there you go.
Yeah.
I think we're going to have a fabulous, fabulous time this evening.
That's right.
Let the fabulosity begin.
Something, something terrible almost happened to me earlier today.
I went out and I was going to buy, here's what I was going to buy, some bedding.
Bedding.
What's that?
A sheet, maybe two sheets.
So you have two sheets.
