night live
here he is will farrell how you doing good good to have you now we've met we've
met haven't we
uh we were at a charity golf no we've never met ever yeah that'd be pretty cool
i cleaned your
house for two years yeah nice to see i feel i feel like i uh i know you i guess
you're just
from seeing you in films and tv and stuff like that where are you from
originally i uh i hail
from uh irvine california irvine california yes rock and roll uh-huh uh what
was that like growing up
there uh you know it's pretty much you know your basic suburban uh upbringing a
lot of uh good uh
very good yeah uh kind of uh kind of had a childhood of of basically one of
those places where the cops
don't have enough to do so it was a lot of uh you know being pulled over for
for various reasons for
actually no reason yeah and uh things like uh i just i just remember a lot of
cops bothering me
just a lot of stuff like uh john william farrell you still live in uh park west
uh yes i do is it legal to drive around park west with a broken back tail light
no it's not legal here
either you're a comedian is that funny i got a funny joke for you how many
broken
tail legs does it taste to cause a senseless death one right you know just
being nosebleeds yeah yeah
thank you but did you uh i think i know the answer to the question but did you
ever get any serious
trouble uh no well i i didn't really get in trouble for this but probably the
most serious thing i ever
did was uh roll our car on a family trip across america no yeah you mean like
uh steve mcqueen kind of
like steve mcqueen dukes of hazard you actually heard the data data yeah and uh
this is a family
this is a family trip uh the summer before my senior year in high school 18
brand new chevy citation
a beautiful car oh yeah yeah slick right yeah maybe i think i rolled it
subconsciously because it was a
citation uh but uh yeah we're just uh we're coming down from the grand canyon
not we weren't near the
grand canyon but driving to flagstaff and i was and i have a problem falling
asleep when i drive oh yeah
i remember just on like easy listening like jazz like and my mom was like are
you okay to drive i'm
fine and it was just like like sunlight over the windshield la la la and just
remember just kind
of closing my eyes and the next thing i remember is uh hearing doo doo doo doo
and it was the road
markers on the side of the shoulder and of course i wasn't used to power
steering so i woke up and it
was like oh my god and the counter steered this way that way driving sideways
for a while then we
like turned like washing machine finally stopped everyone was okay and then of
course how do i handle
the situation i get out of the car and start running out into the desert so i
ran like 100 feet and my
mom yeah now this is with your entire family in the car my mom my brother yeah
so yeah everyone all
right everyone was fine uh i sprained my neck and uh we pushed on man we pushed
on get the car back on all
fours well god that's that's a scary story and and you know uh i'm told and
this would be great if this
is true yeah you have something for us and a little something special something
to make it kind of a an
event the show well more than just a show it's like um because in all sincerity
this is actually a big
thrill for me to be on your show really it really is well that's very kind of
you talk to that woman in
illinois well i old lumpy ass yeah right um i uh i don't know if that's right
uh no but in all honesty
anyone who's in comedy and especially a lot of people at saturday night live uh
this is like a
dream come true well that's it's quite a compliment i appreciate that even if
you're being snotty and
i'm not being snotty at all but i will say this dave seeing a person you do
look magnificent
