You know, spring is just around the corner, and here now with some spring
fashion tips.
Ladies and gentlemen, do me a favor.
Please welcome our very own Chris Elliott.
Chris, come on out.
Here he is.
Huh?
Okay?
Huh?
Hi, baby.
Nice to see you.
All right.
Thank you.
Right?
Okay?
What do you think?
You like?
Yeah.
Okay, folks?
This is what it's all about this spring.
Color, color, color.
You look like you've got to be carrying tools for Norm Abrams.
Oh, man.
Now, Chris, it's always good to see you.
Tell us now how you became involved with fashion.
With fashion.
Well, you know, when I retired from show business...
No, wait a minute.
Wait a minute.
You're not in show business anymore?
No.
You know what I did?
I took early retirement.
Uh-huh.
You know, you reach a point where you look back at your body of work, and you
just see hit
after hit after hit, and you just say, you know, I'm full.
Let somebody else come to the table.
That's very generous of you.
Yeah.
Now, are you sure you were looking at your body of work?
Ouch.
Got to get a little zinger on you, huh?
I guess I deserve that.
25 years of loyalty.
Anyway, one day I was, you know, staring at myself in the mirror, pretending to
be interviewed
by Kathy Lee, and it occurred to me, and it occurred to me.
That's fun, isn't it?
It is fun.
Have you done that?
Yes, I've done some of that.
I can spend hours doing it.
It's a lot like the real thing.
Yes, it is.
Relax.
Uh, at any point, any rate, uh, I just realized, staring at myself, that, uh, I
am one hell
of a snappy dresser.
Yeah.
Okay?
And I also have what is known as panache, which, uh, means style in French.
Panache.
Panache.
Panache.
And, uh, I just felt that, uh, it was time to share my panache with the rest of
the world.
Well, well, that's a very, very nice thing for you to do.
Well, thanks.
It was either that or blowing my head off.
So, so, Chris, now, if you can, tell us, uh, what's in for spring?
Well, for, like, you know, for the guys, it would be, like, uh, you know, like
a shirt
and, uh, and pants.
Yeah.
You know, and for the ladies, you know, like a, a skirt and maybe a shirt and
shoes.
Shoes?
Shoes.
How about a handbag?
Handbag, if they like.
Accessories?
Yeah, accessorize.
Absolutely.
Yeah, sure.
And color.
All right, so that's valuable.
More color.
Yeah, we'll keep that in mind.
Now, uh, in addition to the fashion tips, you're also, uh, dabbling with some
makeovers?
Yes.
And you've, you've done a makeover on one of our staff members?
I did, I did.
Well, you know, I wanted to get my hands on you.
Oh, no, no.
Because, uh, well, you have what is known, uh, down in Milano as a big, a, fatter
ass-a.
And, uh, you know, I was, uh, I was gonna give you some tips on how to hide
that, but, uh,
you're, uh, segment...
You're hiding gears with a beret.
Cut.
Okay.
Yeah, all right.
That's fine.
Okay, zinger number three.
Ooh, ouch.
Yeah, I know.
Okay, that's surgery, okay?
Okay, forgive me.
All right, I'm gonna have a full head of hair the next time you see me, Pat.
All right.
Uh, anyway, yes, I wanted to, uh, give you some tips on that, but your segment
producer,
Skip Goldstein, said Dave's a little touchy in that area, so don't, uh, get
involved with
that.
Skip's very good.
So, uh, Skip is great.
Yes.
He's, uh, the salt of the earth.
So, what I did was I found a staff member of yours who's, uh, was a real
disaster.
His name is Jerry Mulligan, and I think I worked a miracle.
Jerry, come on out.
There we go.
Jerry Mulligan, ladies and gentlemen.
One of our writers, Jerry Mulligan.
Huh?
Wow.
Jerry, how are you?
Doesn't he look great?
Doesn't he look wonderful?
I didn't, I didn't even recognize him.
Isn't that something?
It's amazing.
See, with Jerry, Jerry has a very young face.
Yes.
Uh-huh.
And I wanted to accentuate that.
So, what I did was, was I put some clips in his hair, we pulled it back, there's
a little
bunny in there.
I see a duck right up front.
There's a little duck right up front.
A duck, sure.
You can get these in any hardware store, and I think they look great on Jerry.
You can get them in hardware stores, huh?
Yeah.
And I think he looks ten years younger.
Do we have the before?
We have the before picture?
Can we just see the comparison?
Yeah, look at that.
Yeah, there you go.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Isn't that something?
Thank you.
No, thank you for being a good sport.
I've seen that picture on the cover of about 18 issues of The Post.
Subway suspect.
Ah.
Yeah.
So now, Jerry, how do you feel about this?
You enjoying it?
Yeah, I feel like a new person.
Really?
In fact, I'm ready to go out and strut my stuff.
Oh, well, that's nice.
Well, please don't, oh, no.
Isn't that wonderful?
See, we also, we changed his attitude.
Now he's up, and he's with it.
You better follow him home.
Huh?
I'm sorry.
So now, Chris, this is all well and good.
Everything else all right in your life?
In my life, yes.
I guess you could say my life is kind of like a bowl of baked Tostitos tortilla
chips.
And everything that that implies, ka-ching, ka-ching.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's Chris Elliott.
Oh, thank you.
Chris.
Chris Elliott.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
I'm going to tell you something, them boys ain't hooked up right.
