What we're going to do tonight, we're going to turn on the camera and go into Rupert
G's Hello Deli,
and we're going to play a special Halloween installment of Psychic Sandwich.
Halloween Psychic Sandwich!
There's Rupert G's Hello Deli.
It's a brisk early autumn evening here in lovely Manhattan.
Boy, I'm telling you, this is the time of year.
There's the folks that couldn't get tickets to come in and see the show.
Hello, losers!
There they are. Yes, sirree.
All right, let's go on inside to the beautiful Rupert G's Hello Deli.
Hey, Rupert, how are you doing, my friend?
Hi, Dave, how are you?
Good to have you with us again.
Now, Rupert, I was talking to some people the other day,
and I don't believe any trip to New York City is complete without a stop to Rupert's
G's Hello Deli.
Would you agree with that?
Yeah, thanks.
Now, Rupert, tell us a little bit about the name Hello Deli.
Now, what are you talking about there with the Hello Deli?
What does that mean there?
Oh, it was named after Hello Dolly.
Hello Dolly.
Yeah.
So it's a little play on words of the musical Hello Dolly?
That's right.
Uh-huh.
And were you a big fan of that show, Hello Dolly?
I've never seen this show.
This guy does not have to worry about being lasered.
Now, Rupert, are you excited?
Do you know what we're going to do tonight?
Yes.
This is a Halloween installment of Psychic Sandwich.
Now, explain to the people how we play Psychic Sandwich.
Well, we have a psychic in here.
Uh-huh.
Right.
And then what happens?
And I'm supposed to make a sandwich.
Right.
And she has to determine what the sandwich is named after.
That's right.
But she has to do it psychically.
That's right.
We don't tell her what it is.
No, we don't.
You don't give her any hints necessarily.
You prepare the sandwich, and she, with psychic vibrations, will be able to
identify the sandwich.
It's an amazing demonstration in ESP, isn't it?
That's right.
Do you get ESP?
No.
You get ESPN?
Yes.
You get ESPN2?
Yes.
You get ESPN Classic?
Yeah.
Classic.
Now, do me a favor, and by the way, what do you hear from the good folks at Snickers?
Well, I could go for a Snickers bar.
Do you like a Snickers bar, folks?
I love Snickers, yeah.
Rupert, can you get somebody bringing some Snickers bars in here?
Yeah, sure.
Yeah.
Thank you.
That'll be good.
You're welcome.
You know what I like about Snickers?
They're a meal in themselves.
Okay, introduce tonight's psychic, and let's get on with the Halloween
installment of Psychic Sandwich.
Go ahead, Rupert.
Please, please welcome intuitive Deborah Lynn.
Deborah Lynn, ladies and gentlemen.
She's been with us before.
Hi, Deborah Lynn.
Hello.
Now, you're dressed up for Halloween, or are you just getting back from work?
Which of the two?
Both, I suppose.
Yeah, I guess so.
Now, welcome to the show.
You've been on the Psychic Sandwich how many times, Everlyn?
Many times.
Many times.
And have you ever correctly identified the sandwich?
No.
No.
Now, explain to people how it is that these things come to you.
Now, you're not, strictly speaking, a psychic.
You're a, what are you?
I'm an intuitive.
You're an intuitive.
And the difference, the difference there is what?
A psychic does what?
What does an intuitive do?
An intuitive opens himself up to the universe, and whatever comes in, comes in.
Uh-huh, right.
A psychic more, goes out for the information.
Right.
And, and since you have not been so successful as an intuitive, maybe you want
to change your
strategy here tonight.
Is that?
I'm a psychic.
Would you like to?
All right.
Now, you've never identified the sandwich.
Are you discouraged?
Yes.
You are discouraged?
Yes.
Now, now, when you go home, do you talk it over with your husband about, oh, I,
I missed
the sandwich again tonight?
Yes.
Yeah.
And, and has, has he ever said to you, well, Debra Lynn, maybe you should
consider another
line of work?
No.
Uh-huh.
No.
But, but you, you have regular intuitive thoughts all the time.
Yes.
You're bombarded by intuition, radioactive intuition waves.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
You know how we play.
Go over, step in front of the big, uh, psychic sandwich sandwich board, and
again, we're
not looking for the variety or the, uh, kind of sandwich, we're looking for the
name of the
sandwich.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
Yes, sir.
It could be the, uh, Paul Schaefer, it could be the Jude Brennan, it could be
any one of
those, uh, sandwiches there on the big menu board in Rupert G's Hello Deli.
Have you taken a good look at them?
Yes.
Uh-huh.
It could be the Pat Farmer.
It could be the, what's that one?
The, something, the Sex Club.
What is that thing down there?
It's called DJ Sex Club.
What?
What is that all about?
Uh, a corned beef provolone.
No, I don't care about that.
It looks like I'm running to catch a cab, doesn't it?
What is, I've got to get a cab.
I'll be gone in a second.
I've got to run.
Good night, everybody.
Uh, okay, uh, now, uh, Deborah Lynn, uh, so you've taken a look at the
sandwiches and
you go behind there and now what do we do?
Does Alan tell them what the sandwich is?
Is that what it is?
All right, Alan, you tell, uh, the home viewers what tonight's, uh, Halloween
special Secrets,
uh, Psychic Sandwich, uh, Sandwich is.
Dave, tonight's Halloween Psychic Sandwich is made with a chicken cutlet,
American cheese,
lettuce, tomato, sweet peppers, and mayonnaise on a hero.
It's known to Rupert G customers as the Paul Schaefer.
If we don't get a truckload of Snickers tomorrow.
And somebody's getting laser, that's all I can do.
That's right.
We're going to laser something.
Did you get one of these, Paul?
I'd like one.
These are damn good, my friend.
All right, uh, now, uh, Rupert, are you still there?
Yes, Dave.
Okay, are you guys ready?
Yep.
Debra Lynn, can you see out of, out of the blindfold?
No, not at all.
Rupert, clearly she can see.
You've got the nose whopper jawed on that.
No, no, I, I, I can't.
Twist it around there so she can't see.
I can't see.
Okay, are you sure?
I'm sure.
If I find out later you can see, there's going to be big trouble.
No, I'm, I, I can't see anything.
Okay, now, Rupert, you start making the sandwich.
You know what it is.
Now, Debra Lynn, you go ahead and go into your trance.
Go right ahead.
All right, all right.
All right.
Okay.
Debra Lynn, are, are you open for business?
Yes.
You ready to go?
Yes.
Okay.
What are you doing for the, uh, Halloween?
Oh, nothing.
We're sitting at home.
Yeah.
Do you get a lot of trick-or-treaters up to the place here?
No, I don't think they want to come upstairs.
Good Lord.
What does that mean?
I think she lives in a high-rise, lives in a high-rise building.
Oh, I see.
I just, I don't know.
Or maybe in Bronx.
I, when I was a kid, I always wanted to go upstairs.
Who did?
Please take me upstairs.
I still don't mind a trip, uh, occasional trip upstairs.
Um.
All right.
Okay.
Rupert, how are you doing back there on that sandwich?
I, I'm almost done, Dave.
Now, if you're just joining us, and I find that hard to believe,
Debra Lynn has never correctly identified the sandwich.
Because she's been on the show like 12 times doing this, and she's never,
look at that, man alive, there's a sandwich for you.
Whoa, Nellie.
All right.
You're holding, you're holding the sandwich, and it's in your presence.
You're getting a nice, strong, you're about to dump it on yourself.
Um.
That's right.
Feel it.
Touch it.
Now, you're getting a nice, strong vibration about this sandwich, Debra Lynn.
Are you, are you ready to identify tonight's psychic sandwich?
Yes.
All right, Debra Lynn, may I have your answer?
Pat Farmer.
Oh.
Oh, no.
Oh, she's 0 for 45.
It's the Paul Schaefer.
We were looking, Debra Lynn, for the Paul Schaefer.
There it is, the Paul Schaefer.
Congratulations.
I'm sorry you came so close.
But you know, Debra Lynn, there are no losers on psychic sandwich.
What do we have for her, girls?
Whoa, whoa.
Whoa.
Look at that.
Look at that.
It's a Hello Deli lunch meat platter.
Congratulations.
And that's how you play psychic sandwich, everybody.
