Hi there. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen.
Tonight is our, uh, we've been doing this for the last six months or so,
Stupid Human Tricks.
These are interesting, uh, silly, often provocative tricks
that folks in their spare time have taught themselves to do,
and we're going to do some more.
Remember, this is not a competition.
It's only an exhibition.
Please, no wagering.
Our first contestant, Mr. Steve Weiss.
Mr. Weiss, please.
Hi, Steve. How are you?
Nice to see you. Come on down here, Steve.
Uh, what do you do for a living, Steve?
I'm a carpenter.
Where about?
I do remodeling in Queens.
All right, and, uh, what are you going to do for us tonight?
Okay, with a $10 bill, I will amazingly make these clips link themselves.
All right, you have, first of all, you have a $10 bill,
and you have two paperclips.
Not linked right now.
Nope.
With these three things, you're going to form a link.
Right.
Okay, how did you learn to do this?
Uh, when my grandfather came to this country,
he couldn't afford a wallet,
so he held his money together with paperclips.
Mm-hmm.
And one day he was paying for something by accident.
He discovered it.
All right.
And you're trying to cash in on that now.
Right.
Kind of his misfortune is what you're looking for to make a few cheap dollars
on TV with.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
Oh, that's very nice.
Very nice.
Mighty impressive, Steve.
You want to take a look here?
I like that.
That was very tidy.
Here it goes.
Yeah.
Nicely done, Steve.
Thank you very much.
Nice to see you, sir.
Our next participant on the Stupid Human Tricks tonight, Lori Lawrence.
Lori.
Hi, Lori.
Nice to see you.
Nice to see you.
How are you?
Good.
What do you do for a living, Lori?
I'm an actress.
And where are you from?
New Rochelle.
And have you had success as an actress?
Not yet, but I'm working on it.
All right.
Well, keep working.
And what are you going to do?
I will.
What are you going to do for us tonight?
I'm going to flow bubble gum bubbles inside of each other.
Oh, all right.
Any kind of special gum you're using there?
Am I allowed to say it?
Well, it's fine with me.
Bazooka.
Oh, damn.
You had to go and say it.
Okay, Lori.
Go right ahead.
How many got in that wad?
Just one.
Okay.
So this will be bubbles inside bubbles.
You want a drum roll for this?
Sure.
Now, if you lose consciousness, what should...
There's one.
Yeah.
Whoa.
Very nice.
Very nice.
Take a look here, Lori.
It was mighty impressive.
There it is.
Here comes number three.
Well, you know, you get the idea.
Thank you, Lori.
Nice to see you.
Bye-bye.
All right.
Our next participant tonight, Mr. Dan Sullivan.
Dan.
Hi, Dan.
How are you doing?
Good.
How are you?
All right.
Dan, what do you do for a living?
I work downstairs and videotape.
Here in this building?
Right.
All right.
You have friends up there.
That's great.
Yeah.
And what are you going to do tonight, Dan?
All right.
I'm going to stack four quarters on top of the...
Should I stop shaking?
On top of a dollar bill.
You have an ordinary short beer bottle.
Right.
One dollar bill and four quarters?
Right.
All right.
Now, what are you going to do?
I'm going to knock the bill off from underneath of it and keep the quarters on
top of the bottle.
Hopefully.
Now, exactly how will the bill come out of there?
I'm going to hit it right around there.
I'm going to just pull out.
All right.
Let me ask you, as I do all of the other contestants, if you'd like a drum roll.
Yes, please.
Wow.
Wow.
Pretty good.
Nice.
Dan, very nice.
Here it comes.
You want to take a look?
Wow.
There you go.
Thank you, Dan.
Heart-stopping, wasn't it?
Our final guest tonight, Alan Fendrick.
Alan.
Hi, Alan.
How are you?
How are you?
Pretty good.
Nice to meet you.
Alan, what do you do for a living, sir?
I'm a student at Rutgers College in New Brunswick.
I guess you're going to the big party later, then, aren't you?
Oh, wouldn't miss it.
All right.
What are you going to do tonight?
Well, I'm going to jump on this pogo stick, simultaneously juggling these two
tennis balls
and one apple, and then I'm going to, while I'm doing that, I'm going to recite
all the
presidents of America from Washington to Reagan, and after I say Reagan, after
I finish the
presidents, I'm going to eat the apple.
A little complex.
No drum roll, necessarily.
Oh, no.
He's not, you're not really going to do all that, are you?
Oh, yeah.
You really are going to do that?
Honest in truth.
And how much time does he have for this?
Oh, it'll take me under 20 seconds.
20 seconds?
Oh, yeah.
Speed, too.
Good heavens.
Just explaining it is so spectacular.
I don't know.
All right, Alan.
Good luck to you.
I'll be right over here if you need me.
Okay.
Alan Fendrick, ladies and gentlemen, doing something that boggles the mind.
Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adams, Jackson, Van Buren,
Harrison, Tyler,
Polk, Taylor, Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, Lincoln, Johnson, Grant, Hayes, Garfield,
Arthur,
Cleveland, Harrison, Cleveland, McKinley, Roosevelt, Taff, Wilson, Hardy, Coolidge,
Hoover, Roosevelt,
Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan.
Wait, there's more.
Woo!
It's really hard.
I can't go to the dining hall at school today.
It's really bad.
Please, no more calls.
We have a winner, ladies and gentlemen.
I think we'll just retire this man's jersey and put an end to the competition.
That was really stupid.
Okay, Alan.
Let's, uh, here it is.
A little bit of an instant replay.
My, oh, my.
Look at that.
Your folks must be mighty proud.
Thanks, Alan.
Thanks, Alan.
Nice to see you.
Alan Sendrick.
Oh, brother.
Uh, we'll be right back.
Rob Lowe is with us, so come on back, folks.
