Hi, I'm Barbara Gaines. Welcome to The Barbara Gaines Show. This is Mary Barkley.
This is Dave Letterman.
Hi, nice to see you. Thank you very much, Barbara. Very nice to see you.
I love how you greet people. Hi, I'm Barbara Gaines.
It's so uplifting, it's so friendly, it's so welcoming. Nice job on that.
Thanks. Unfortunately, I peter out after that.
Sure.
Nice job.
Well, how have you been?
I've been good.
You've had other guests on, right?
I've had no other guests.
Paul Schaefer.
Oh, I've had Paul Schaefer.
Oh, that's what I wanted to talk about.
That thing for the Christmas with the Darlene Love was fantastic.
It was good.
Yeah, Paul and Walter did a great job on that, and you, of course, and Mary,
and Nancy, and Darlene Love.
Great.
Oh, my goodness.
That's gotten to be, I think, bigger now than when that song was first recorded.
More popular now than when it was at the time.
For Darlene.
Yes, it's been great for her, and I think people really now incorporate that as
part of their Christmas celebration.
100%.
Yeah, she finally got the recognition that she deserves.
Yeah, thanks to Cher.
Thanks to you.
And me, me and Cher.
Yeah, you and Cher.
That's right.
Hey, tell us about your jersey there, Dave.
Thank you very much.
This is, it says South Sydney, and it's a rugby team in Sydney, Australia, in
the southern part of Sydney, and it's the South Sydney Rabbitohs, R-A-B-B-I-T-O-H-S,
Rabbitohs.
Any idea what that means?
No.
Rabbitohs?
Where'd you get that jersey?
I'll tell you about where I got the jersey in a minute.
Well, I could tell you the meaning of Rabbitoh, or we could just let people
look it up.
Rabbitoh, like rabbit, oh.
No, it's the same word.
R-A-B-B-I-T-O-H-S, Rabbitohs.
Or like Rabbitohs, question mark.
Rabbitohs, no?
A Rabbitoh is an itinerant seller of rabbits for eating.
That's right.
Wait, it's a rabbit?
It's a man or a woman who goes door to door selling rabbits for eating.
Those are the Rabbitohs.
Anyway.
They got their own rugby team?
Yes.
Wow.
And here's the best part.
I am now a proud owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Oh, how did that happen?
Well, you know Ryan Reynolds and his pal, Suge Knight, got together and bought
a soccer team in Wales.
I think that guy's in prison, isn't he?
Ryan Reynolds?
Anyway, that's where we got the idea.
And so, Billy Crystal and I now own the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
It's a rugby team.
You're a big rugby fan?
I love it.
I, you know, that's how my mom hurt her hip.
That's fantastic that you own a team, I think.
Thank you.
Yep.
Yep.
Are you going to be spending a lot of time in Sydney?
Yes.
Because, you know, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, they're both very handsome.
Yes.
Well, what about me and Billy?
Very handsome.
Very handsome.
Different generation, but handsome.
Yeah, so anyway, no, we have a deal now that we're going to do a show all about
the Rabbitohs, Billy and I, and it'll be on the World Wide Pants streaming.
I predict.
World Wide Pants club.
Do you have to go to Australia?
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are going to sue you.
Why?
Because you're ripping them off.
No, I'm not.
We're not ripping them off.
They're playing soccer.
We're playing a real sport, rugby.
But it's the Rabbitohs, people who would come door to door.
I wonder if they still do that in South Sydney.
And so, rabbits?
Oh, rabbits, ma'am?
No, we're fine.
I don't know.
I'm going to say.
Hello.
Oh, it's the rabbit guy.
I'm going to say that doesn't happen.
Oh, well, we'll find out.
That'll be the part.
That's part of the show.
That's the first episode.
Yeah, you probably should have asked before you bought the team.
It's a docu-series.
Oh, a docu-series.
It's a docu-series on World Wide Pants Plus.
On Tubi.
On World Wide Pants Plus.
Yeah.
Our channel.
Yeah, that's right.
I like that.
Me and Billy Crystal.
Anyway, look for the show.
Yeah, on World Wide Pants Plus.
Mm-hmm.
Okay, well, I guess rabbits and World Wide Pants and thank you and smash that
dial and okay, goodbye.
I think they're getting incrementally better.
I think the third one will be great.
I don't think they are getting better.
