Paul Schaefer, ladies and gentlemen, and the Paul Schaefer's genius band.
Look at this.
Yeah!
Look at what I have here.
Look at this.
I like your technique.
How about this?
You are.
I don't know why we haven't done this before.
You know what I have here, Paul?
This is something they call a video camera.
Ooh!
And we got it plugged into the telecast so I can actually operate a camera.
And what I'm seeing here on my camera is what people see on their sets at home.
Look at that.
Isn't that fantastic?
There's a woman from Kentucky.
You want a phone?
I can't.
And now what we're going to do, Beastie Boys are on the program tonight.
And I guess it was sometime a year ago or so, they had a big concert.
At Madison Square Garden.
And what they did, and this took a lot of courage on their part.
People who came into the concert, like 100,000 or however many go to these
things,
they passed out these video cameras to members, concert goers,
and they had them shoot videotape of the concert.
And then they took the cameras back and they got all the videotape that the
audience shot,
the fans shot.
And they've turned that into like a concert video.
No kidding.
And you'll be able to go into a motion picture theater.
Into a motion picture theater.
Yes.
Into a movie house.
And you'll get to see the concert, the video shot by the fans.
That was shot by the fans, yeah.
And so they're on tonight, and we have done that.
We've given video cameras to members of our audience, and I think you have one
as well.
I do?
Yeah, you're going to get one.
I do!
Yeah.
And I have one.
What? I have one right here.
That's right.
So when they come out, we'll be able to actually shoot part of their
performance.
We will shoot them?
Yeah.
As they perform.
As well as members of our audience.
I'd love to.
Can I do it?
Do I?
But I can't.
I'm going to shoot you.
There you are.
Yeah, hold on.
There you are.
There's a lot of.
This is how all of my home video looks.
Whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop, whoop.
Whoop, whoop, whoop.
Hello.
Testing.
One, two.
Oh, I have you now.
Yeah, there you are.
Oh, I have you in black and white.
It looked like the old Sullivan show.
Yeah.
Coming out.
I can't find you.
Now.
Where are you?
Right here on our stage.
Before I bring out...
Oh, there he is.
There he goes.
Oh, okay.
Now, before...
There we go.
All right.
Now.
But if I...
If I shoot the monitor...
Yes.
We ought to be able to recreate the Hindu wheel of life.
Is that right?
Oh, this is, yeah.
Infinite.
This should be infinity right here, ladies and gentlemen.
Infinite shots.
Let's see how that's going to work.
You don't get this on other television programs.
And then if I shoot right into the camera,
I think it ought to probably knock people across the room at home.
And then what about this?
Here's something even scarier.
Whoa.
This is our 85-year-old cue card boy.
This is going to be fantastic.
And I put it down, Paul,
and I predict that this will revolutionize television,
don't you think?
It's a lot of fun, yeah.
Yeah.
Okay, so...
It takes us right back to the stone age of broadcasting.
Really?
In what regard does it take us...
Well, you know,
it's going to be just all shots coming in and out and stuff.
Will there be any real cameras shooting the Beastie Boys as well?
Oh, yeah, we'll have our fine CBS camera crew on the job as well.
Oh, thank God.
And then it'll be intercut.
Because if it was just you and I shooting, forget it.
Yeah, then we'd be in trouble.
Listen, Paul, you get your camera ready.
All right, I got my camera.
I'm begging you, don't screw this up, all right?
All right, I'm going to try not to.
All right.
Our next guests have a new concert movie
entitled Awesome, I Shot That.
It opens March 31st.
Ladies and gentlemen,
the Beastie Boys.
I got some D-double-O-D-double-Lost style.
Here we go again because it's been a while.
Do me a favor, don't touch that dial.
I rock from a hat into the miracle.
I prove my name is Mike Fee and I'm a lady's choice.
You want to get next to me,
I'm Rolls Royce.
You'll gather and I hear my golden voice.
And when it's time to rhyme,
you know I'll get noise.
Because I'm like a fair boy,
I want a glade.
He'll turn your ass across the coffee.
So watch your back when it takes the stage.
With us in your hall,
I'm falling like a rampage.
Just three MCs and one DJ.
We be getting down with no delay.
MX Master Micah, what you got to say?
Damn, that DJ made my day.
So just plug me in,
just like I was Gary Harris.
Heating virgin cheese like you're thinking from Paris.
You know I get high,
but you know that I'm fine.
You know that I'm gone.
Sweet, Lou, tell them why.
So tell me, who are you?
Dancing, maybe I'm medicine.
The reason that you're styling a while
is a listen in my head.
I just want to think of damn it.
Imagination's that you could say,
I'm going to shake them down.
Let it flow like I want to stop it.
And when I get on,
I like the ride, the glide.
Kicking depth, the perception,
and the texture.
And getting props,
shit, the magic is affection.
So what you want?
Wanting some money with that money that you want?
What can I say?
Where'd you get your information from?
You think that you're going from when revelation comes?
So what you want?
It's my day.
I'm a married man.
I like spoiling cheese.
Well, I'm a metropolitan.
She's screaming a holler
about my champion parlor.
Sex, getting right around.
I'm bringing right applause.
I'm bringing my family without no stopping.
Sweet up in a cherry bottle ready with tapping.
From mic to mic,
kicking it wall to wall.
Well, I'll be calling out to people like a casting girl.
And when it's whack,
when you're jacked,
in the back,
on the ride,
with your nose,
with your hole,
when you're out,
get it by.
And you'll believe me.
I want you to use what you get.
And then you see me.
We're coming up as your connects.
Well, I think I'm losing my mind this time.
This time I'm losing my mind.
That's right.
Well, I think I'm losing my mind this time.
This time I'm losing my mind.
Well, I said what?
So what?
So what you want?
So what you want?
Well, I said what?
So what?
So what you want?
So what you want?
Well, I said what?
So what?
So what you want?
So what you want?
Well, I said what?
So what you want?
So what you want?
So what you want?
So what you want?
So what you want?
So what?
But little do you know about something that I talk about?
I'm tired of driving.
It's too time that I walk about.
In the meantime, I'm wiser to demise.
Got eyes in the back of my head, so I'm real life.
Well, I'm Dr. Spock.
I'm in to rock, y'all.
I want you to walk the wall if you're playing the war.
So what?
So what?
So what you want?
So what you want?
So what?
So what?
So what you want?
So what you want?
So what you want?
And then they bounce.
I reach into the planet for the fresh amounts.
I'm the ball.
The leaner, the victor, the cleaner.
I'm the illus.
I'm the illus.
From here to gardener.
It's cool as if you come up in a bowl of hot sauce.
You got the mama miserable, got no cause.
Well, if you have to try, you think you're slinging in grease.
I got news for your cooge, you'd be sucking like a leech.
Well, I said what?
So what?
So what you want?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what?
So what you want?
Come on.
The Beastie Boys, how you doing?
Nice job.
The Beastie Boys.
Gentlemen, how are you?
Good to see you.
Nice to see you again.
Thank you very much.
There you go.
Beastie Boys, everybody.
We'll be right back.
